And Wednesday’s meeting may have turned the plot.
For four pained, almost surreal, hours Canada’s most infamous school trustees bristled at the script Queen’s Park has forced on them to get them to shape up, play nice, butt out of the day-to-day business of schools and start planning which ones to close — all by Feb. 13.
Yet as distraught as they were at having to clip their own wings — Trustee Chris Tonks complained the whole exercise lacks logic — the notoriously unruly trustees of the Toronto District School Board grit their teeth and began to do what they were told. (more...)
