Swiss neutrality ‘shattered’ as leading cryptologic firm revealed to be CIA front

espionage Switzerland accountability military business secrecy CIA BND Germany

Switzerland is reeling from the shock caused by revelations last week that Crypto AG, the world’s leading manufacturer or cryptologic equipment during the Cold War, whose clients included over 120 governments around the world, was a front company owned by the United States Central Intelligence Agency.

The revelation, published last Tuesday by The Washington Post and the German public broadcaster ZDF, confirmed rumors that had been circulating since the early 1980s, that Crypto AG had made a secret deal with the US government. It was believed that the Swiss-based company had allowed the US National Security Agency to read the classified messages of dozens of nations that purchased Crypto AG’s encoding equipment. These rumors were further-substantiated in 2015, when a BBC investigation unearthed evidence of a “gentleman’s agreement”, dating to 1955, between a leading NSA official and Boris Hagelin, the Norwegian-born founder and owner of Crypto AG.

But the reality of this alleged secret pact appears to have been even more controversial. According to last week’s revelations, the CIA and West Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND) secretly purchased the Swiss company and paid off most of its senior executives in order to buy their silence. The secret deal allegedly allowed the US and West Germany to spy on the classified government communications of several of their adversaries —and even allies, including Italy, Spain and Greece, as well as Austria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

What is more, the secret CIA/BND partnership with Crypto AG was known to senior British and Israeli officials, and information derived from it was routinely shared with them. Government officials in Switzerland and even Sweden were aware that Crypto AG had been compromised, but remained silent.  (more...)

Bomb threat made against Wet’suwet’en and Tyendinaga Mohawks as far right escalates talk of violence

crime Canada indigenous ancestral lands resource extraction dissent vigilantes Nazi violence terrorism threats police

A bomb threat made against the Wet’suwet’en and Tyendinaga Mohawks comes during escalating discussions of violence among Canada’s far right, whose latest obsession is the non-violent Indigenous sovereignty movement that has dominated headlines for weeks.

The Tyendinaga Mohawks blockaded a rail line in Ontario following this month’s RCMP incursion on unceded Wet’suwet’en territory in northwestern B.C., part of a project to clear the way for the controversial Coastal GasLink pipeline.

“You and your punk friends, the Mohawk warriors, need to call off the blockades,” reads an email sent on Feb. 26 to addresses associated with the Wet’suwet’en and Tyendinaga township.

“If you don’t, you will find a bomb in your mailbox, and your parents will be in danger.

“This is a threat, you are on notice.”

The email address used to send the threat is linked to a recently suspended Twitter account, according to Anti-Racist Canada, a collective that tracks hate and extremism.

That Twitter account has lately been used to make a variety of threats, including burning reserves and physically attacking an Indigenous woman and her unborn child.

The email address was registered with ProtonMail, which said it “passed it along to our abuse team and they will investigate and take proper measures if needed.” Later ProtonMail said that the address had been deleted by the user.  (more...)

U.S. neo-Nazi group Atomwaffen targeted Canadian police forces for 'swatting' hoaxes, FBI says

Nazi police justice swatting Canada

A conspiracy involving a former leader and founding member of violent white supremacist group Atomwaffen targeted police forces in Canada in a large “swatting” campaign, U.S. prosecutors allege.

The group used the harassment technique of reporting fake emergencies to trick heavily armed police teams, often called SWAT units, in masked calls to 11 police agencies across Canada: the RCMP in Alberta, B.C. and New Brunswick; the Ontario Provincial Police; and municipal police forces in Edmonton, Lethbridge, Bancroft, Sudbury, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City, according to documents filed in court.

U.S. federal authorities charged several alleged members of the neo-Nazi group on Wednesday for running intimidation campaigns against journalists and members of the Anti-Defamation League in retaliation for reporting on the group’s members and activities.

Among those arrested was John Cameron Denton, 26, of Montgomery, Texas, for an alleged “swatting” conspiracy. He is charged with making interstate threats to injure.

His criminal charge specifically relates to hoax calls sending police scrambling to intervene in faked incidents in Virginia involving a U.S. Cabinet official, a university, a Baptist church and — at the request of Denton — ProPublica, a New York-based newsroom, and one of its journalists who revealed Denton’s identity and role in Atomwaffen, the Federal Bureau of Investigation alleges.  (more...)

The FBI Just Arrested a Bunch of Neo-Nazi Atomwaffen Members

Five “racially motivated violent extremists” with ties to the neo-Nazi group Atomwaffen, including its current leader, have been arrested by the FBI, the Justice Department said Wednesday.

Of those, four were charged in the U.S. District Court in Seattle for allegedly sending racist and anti-Semitic threats to journalists and activists around the country and the fifth was charged in Virginia for his alleged participation in a swatting campaign.

Wednesday’s news marks the biggest bust of the notorious group since it was founded five years ago, by a group of young, white men who met on the neo-Nazi site Iron March. Since then, the group has been linked to at least five murders in the U.S.

The defendants charged in Seattle are Cameron Brandon Shea, 24, from Redmond, Washington; Taylor Ashley Parker-Dipeppe, 20, from Spring Hill, Florida; Johnny Roman Garza, 20, of Queens Creek, Arizona; and Kaleb Cole, 24, of Montgomery, Texas.

Cole, the current leader of the racist group, was also wanted by local authorities who issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of possessing firearms in violation of an extreme risk protection order.  (more...)

Neo-Nazi Patrik Mathews’s arrest highlights Ottawa’s support for Ukrainian far right

Canada Ukraine fascism military Nazi police war politics

The recent arrest of a Canadian neo-Nazi on the run in the United States should embarrass the federal government — and not just for the obvious reasons.

Last week former Canadian Forces engineer Patrik Mathews pled not guilty to gun charges, a month after he was arrested by the FBI. The prosecution says he called for the poisoning of water supplies and derailment of trains in order to provoke conflict leading to the creation of a white ethnostate. Mathews had fled southward in August after he was outed as a recruiter for The Base, a neo-Nazi group that helped him go underground in the U.S.

Mathews’s case, of course, highlights concern about white supremacists in the Canadian Forces. While the issue has received recent attention, it’s as old as the Canadian military. Many commentators point to the 1990s Somalia affair, when Canadian soldiers tortured and murdered a Somali teenager while on a humanitarian mission, but up to the end of World War II, Royal Canadian Navy policy said that “candidates must be of pure European descent.” In other words, the problem of racism in the Canadian Forces is structural and longstanding, never having been properly acknowledged and dealt with.

But there is another angle to Mathews’s arrest that should concern every Canadian worried about the rise of the far right. The Base has ties to the most well-organized neo-Nazis in the world — whom Ottawa has not only failed to condemn, but in fact bolstered.

In 2014 the far right benefited from the right-wing nationalist EuroMaidan movement that ousted Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych. Ottawa supported the U.S.-backed coup against Yanukovych, who was oscillating between the European Union and Russia. In July 2015 the Canadian Press reported that opposition protesters were camped in the Canadian Embassy for a week during the February 2014 rebellion against Yanukovych. And since the mid-2000s, Canada has provided significant support to right-wing, nationalist opponents of Russia in Ukraine.  (more)...

Indigenous Rail Blockades Could Become Flashpoint For Far-Right Activity

Canada indigenous ancestral lands sovereignty racism hate white supremacy fascism vigilantes violence Nazi

MONTREAL — Tensions around rail blockades such as the ones in Saint-Lambert and Edmonton show that the situation has “all the ingredients” for far-right groups to further escalate the conflict, according to some experts.

On Wednesday, a group of counter-protesters dismantled a barricade erected in solidarity with Wet’suwet’en on a CN railway just outside of Edmonton.

While it’s not known who organized the event, the men who removed the blockade were quickly congratulated by groups associated with far-right movements, as well as several right-wing commentators.

United We Roll called the dismantlement a “victory for the country.” The group has been described as a “a revisioned white nationalist, white supremacist movement” by McMaster University Prof. Ameil Joseph, who specializes in race theory, immigration and mental health.

Meanwhile, Rebel Media founder and right-wing commentator Ezra Levant promised to “send a case of beer” to one of the counter-protesters who dismantled the barricade “on behalf of a grateful nation.”  (more...)

Toronto is the political and corporate wing of global extractive violence

Canada Toronto finance business transnational corporations accountability corruption politics violence

It is well known within the mining sector that if you want to start a mining company, you do so in Canada, thanks to nearly endless layers of governmental support including exploration subsidies, extensive tax breaks, a free-entry tenure system, and international diplomatic assistance. That’s why the city of Toronto is, in many regards, the engine of the global mining sector.

The Toronto Stock Exchange and Venture Exchange host 50 per cent of the world’s mining companies and raised $6.5 billion dollars of capital for the industry in 2018 alone. Bay Street is aflush with legal teams, financiers, and traders working tirelessly to facilitate the next big mining project. Of Canada’s more than 1,300 publicly listed mining companies, 699 held foreign mining assets worth $168.7 billion. Many of these companies are headquartered in Toronto’s financial district.

The city, as a space of finance, capitalization and networking, is vitally important to the function and expansion of the global mining sector. To help maintain its status as a mining juggernaut and to facilitate further project development, Toronto hosts the annual convention of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC).

Each March, the halls of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre are transformed into a hotbed of extractive business activity. In 2019, the 87th meeting of PDAC hosted over 1,000 trade-show exhibitors and more than 500 investor booths, where junior mining companies put their latest mining frontier narratives on display, hoping to catch the eye of willing investors. With over 25,000 attendees, nearly 30 per cent of whom arrived from outside of Canada, the convention itself has become an indicator of the global mining sector’s health.

But the spectacle that is PDAC conceals the intense destruction wrought by the mining sector. At the convention, there is little talk of the consequences of the extraction and processing of metals and minerals, which accounts for 26 per cent of global carbon emissions and more than 60 percent of the 100 billion tonnes of materials consumed annually by humans.

For their part, Canadian mining companies are implicated in extreme cases of violence around the world. In Latin America alone, conflicts with Canadian companies resulted in more than 400 injuries and 44 deaths reported between 2000 and 2015. Five UN bodies and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights have called on Canada to keep its corporate actors accountable.  (more...)

Trudeau’s Demand: “The Barricades Must Come Down”

Canada corruption business corporations politics police violence environment indigenous ancestral lands sovereignty resource extraction lawlessness

Canada’s prime minister Justin Trudeau has called the imbroglio between the Wet’suwet’en nation and Canada a matter to be decided by the rule of law. However, the Wet’suwet’en have refused to back down and have defied the British Columbia Supreme Court injunction allowing pipeline work to continue.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) were sent in to enforce the injunction. After that Trudeau seemed to have ducked the issue of the Wet’suwet’en’s opposition to pipelines through their territory until growing solidarity actions shut down ports, railways, bridges, and highways.

On 21 February, Trudeau appeared before the media and claimed,
We have gone through exhausting every possibility for dialogue, for engagement, for finding peaceful solutions to deescalate this every step of the way, and we remain open to that but we are waiting for Indigenous leadership to show that it also understands; the onus is on them. We will be there to discuss, but the barricades must come down.
Do Trudeau’s actions match his words? Does the presence of a heavily armed RCMP strike force on Wet’suwet’en territory speak to a peaceful solution every step of the way? Does the RCMP strategizing to shoot Indigenous activists speak to a peaceful solution every step of the way? Does the setting up of RCMP barricades to control road access in and out of Wet’suwet’en territory speak to a peaceful solution every step of the way? Do the arrests of Wet’suwet’en matriarchs speak to a peaceful solution every step of the way?

Trudeau’s questionable phraseology that “we are waiting for Indigenous leadership to show that it also understands” comes across as condescending. The Trudeau government’s waiting for a show of understanding, appears to call into question the intellectual capacity of the Indigenous leaders.

Trudeau has a demand: the Indigenous leadership must see to the removal of the barricades. Does such a demand show respect for a nation-to-nation dialogue? The Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs likewise have a demand: the RCMP must leave Wet’suwet’en territory before discussions will be entered into. The two sides are at loggerheads.

Ask yourself, who among us would willingly agree to meet a foe with a gun ready to shoot them? Why should the Wet’suwet’en accept meeting anyone while armed RCMP are on their territory?  (more...)

Bolivia: Anatomy of a CIA Coup

Bolivia indigenous crime corruption Nazi politics police violence military CIA death squads

Last November a horrifying coup took place overthrowing the socialist government of Bolivia and the nation’s first indigenous president Evo Morales. It was a textbook example of a CIA coup recalling the dark days of Operation Condor when the US installed military dictatorships throughout the region to insure they could be looted by american corporations. Bolivia is now ruled by a self appointed president Jeanine Anez a racist evangelical christian who believes indians are “satanic” and should be barred from entering the cities. Her husband is tied to the Colombian death squads.

When the people of Bolivia rose up to resist the coup they were massacred by the police and military. 36 were killed 832 more were wounded. There have been hundreds of arbitrary arrests, 57 Radio stations have been shut down, foreign journalists have been expelled.  Anyone who dares to complain about the coup is accused of sedition and terrorism.

Murderous fascist traitors who overthrew their own government so that the United States could loot it’s resources have the nerve to charge the winner of the election Evo Morales with sedition, terrorism, and support of terrorism.

It’s a strategy of lawfare pioneered in Brazil where former president Lula was arrested and imprisoned on false charges to keep him from running against the fascist Bolsonaro after his successor Dilma Rousseff was overthrown due to of a phony corruption investigation.

Meanwhile Luis Fernando Comacho the former leader of the fascist paramilitary UJC which has been committing arson, terrorizing protestors, and conspiring with the CIA for ten years is granted total impunity to terrorize the people of Bolivia at the same time as he is running for president. The new coup regime has lost no time in attempting to reverse everything Evo accomplished. National industries are being divided among the coup supporters corrupt cronies so they can loot bankrupt and privatize everything.

Cuban doctors who were in the country to provide health care to the poor, have been expelled at the very moment they were needed to treat the wounded victims of the coup.

Who will count all the children who will die from lack of health care in the new fascist Bolivia? Stipends for poor pregnant women and young children were eliminated. In other words the vast majority of people will be pushed back into poverty and misery while the coup plotters become fantastically wealthy looting the country and reviving the flow of Bolivian cocaine.  (more...)

Collapse of Weimar Germany and The Death of Democracy

A riveting account of how the Nazi Party came to power and how the failures of the Weimar Republic and the shortsightedness of German politicians allowed it to happen.

Why did democracy fall apart so quickly and completely in Germany in the 1930s? How did a democratic government allow Adolf Hitler to seize power? In The Death of Democracy, Benjamin Carter Hett answers these questions, and the story he tells has disturbing resonances for our own time.

To say that Hitler was elected is too simple. He would never have come to power if Germany’s leading politicians had not responded to a spate of populist insurgencies by trying to co-opt him, a strategy that backed them into a corner from which the only way out was to bring the Nazis in. Hett lays bare the misguided confidence of conservative politicians who believed that Hitler and his followers would willingly support them, not recognizing that their efforts to use the Nazis actually played into Hitler’s hands. They had willingly given him the tools to turn Germany into a vicious dictatorship.

Benjamin Carter Hett is a leading scholar of twentieth-century Germany and a gifted storyteller whose portraits of these feckless politicians show how fragile democracy can be when those in power do not respect it. He offers a powerful lesson for today, when democracy once again finds itself embattled and the siren song of strongmen sounds ever louder.

Nazism, a Gnostic-Manichean Sect

Catholic gnosticism Nazi eugenics Aryanism Manicheanism paganism history

In 1931 and 1937 Alfred Rosenberg, the theoretician of Nazism who had such a great influence over Adolph Hitler, ordered the scholar Otto Rahn to make a careful study of the ruins of the Castle of Montségur, the citadel and temple of the Cathars. This castle was the last refuge for the Cathar heresy that contaminated Southern France in the 11th and 12th centuries.

At about the same time, Heinrich Himmler, the supreme commander of the SS, reconstructed the Castle of Wewelsburg, near Paderborn in Westphalia, Germany. In its gothic basement, he placed a black marble altar emblazoned with the silver letters SS. This altar was meant to hold the object that the heads of Nazism were expecting Otto Rahn to find at Montségur: the mysterious Grail and an ancient stone book that contained the compendium of the Gnostic tradition. In this sinister chapel, the SS, elite troops of the National Socialists, would meditate on the the book of Otto Rahn, Lucifer’s Court in Europe.

These strange facts reveal that, different from what the general public thinks, Hitlerism was not above all a political movement.

Actually, when one studies National Socialism from the perspective of old esoteric doctrines, he finds himself before a true religious sect of the Gnostic-Manichean bent, whose origins are linked to Cathar strongholds in medieval castles of Southern France. Hitler, Hess, Himmler, Rosenberg and other highly placed public figures of Nazism would have been initiated in an esoteric religion that had its hierarchy, temples, rites and dogmas.  (more...)

Josef Mengele was the embodiment of evil, prowling the concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau in the 1940s for his helpless victims, with the Nazi being obsessed with anomalies and carried out the most sadistic experiments on those prisoners, a new book reveals.

Known as the Angel of Death and the most notorious war criminal of all time, Mengele was a medical monster and intent on destroying the perceived enemies of the Aryan race – the Jews – and creating the ideal German community.

Captivated by oddities, victims of Mengele's medical experiments were chosen based on different eye colors, growth anomalies such as a clubfoot or a hunchback, giantism or dwarfism, twins and gypsies.

A choice 'specimen' he sent to his lab for study was the head of a 12-year-old boy he was going to dissect.

This detail was discovered in a document by author David Marwell, former chief of investigative research at the Department of Justice's Office of Special Investigations, hired to do a global search to find Mengele in the 1980s.

'This only reinforced my notion of him as a wildly sadistic, grotesque monster,' writes Marwell in his new book Mengele, Unmasking The 'Angel of Death'.  (more...)

Vatican City, Feb 19, 2020 / 02:30 pm (CNA).- The Vatican raid conducted on the chief prosecutor of the Church’s Apostolic Signatura sheds light on a network of companies and businessmen at the center of interrelated Vatican financial scandals.

On Feb. 18, Vatican officials raided the home and office of Msgr. Alberto Perlasca, the chief prosecutor at the Church’s highest ecclesiastical court and a former senior official at the Secretariat of State. Vatican police seized documents and computers for an ongoing investigation into financial misconduct at the Secretariat, the curia’s most influential department.

The raid on Perlasca’s home is the most recent in a steady flow of stories about questionable Vatican finances, involving a London property development, shell companies, tax havens, opaque investment funds, and shuttered banks in Italy and Switzerland.

Each new scandal appears uniquely complicated, but, a recurring pattern of institutions and individuals suggests that a series of apparently independent financial scandals might, in fact, be linked to each other.  (more...)

Oberlander's Deportation Delayed; Canada Mum On Russian Request

When accused Nazi war criminal Helmut Oberlander exhausted his final possible appeal at the Supreme Court of Canada last December, it appeared the next logical step was his deportation.

But the 96-year-old former Nazi death squad member and his lawyers have become experts at erecting roadblocks.

This time, lawyers have filed an application to the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) asking that the case against Oberlander be dismissed.

They argue that Oberlander’s Canadian citizenship, acquired in 1960, has never been expunged and that the IRB lacks jurisdiction to issue a removal order. Doing so would be “an abuse of process,” states the 42-page application obtained by The CJN.

His lawyers also submitted findings from an optometrist, audiologist and psychologist offering evidence that Oberlander is “legally blind, has delayed memory deficit, cognitive slowing and greatly diminished hearing,” and those disabilities “must be accommodated.”  (more...)

Nuclear Genocide In Canada

Canada accountability business pollution technology corruption environment Port Hope

Take a moment and list off the nuclear issues in Canada you are aware of: radioactive waste, medical isotopes, radioactive leaks and new nuclear reactors will come to mind. The media reports on little more. Few Canadians know how many communities and environments have been contaminated forever by the nuclear industry. Even fewer know the number of radiation-induced illnesses and premature deaths the Canadian Government has knowingly caused through its actions and inactions.

These papers list a wide range of nuclear issues and situations that have been caused and, for the most part hidden, by the Canadian Government since their involvement in nuclear weapons and nuclear electricity generation began 65 years ago. The government's current attempt to expand their involvement into all parts of the nuclear fuel cycle is particularly frightening.

Much of the following information has been uncovered and exposed by members of the affected communities trying to hold our government accountable. Residents of Port Hope, Deline, Serpent River and other towns have been forced to undertake and fund their own research for over 40 years into elevated disease rates and premature deaths among their family and friends. I can assure you that it is NOT a pleasant, inexpensive or simple task.

My involvement began in 2004 when I found out my daughters' elementary school in Port Hope Ontario was built on radioactive waste. In 1978, the Canadian Government found radon levels under the kindergarten and gymnasium 125 times higher than the allowable level. They covered up these test results and allowed children to be taught in the school for the next 28 years to avoid the cost of cleaning it up and the bad publicity that would follow.

The following is little more than an outline of our nuclear, past, present and future. It is written in simple language that anyone can understand. It is important for Canadians to become aware of these issues. As you read this, think of the impact our nuclear involvement will have on you, your children and your grandchildren. What price will they pay economically, environmentally and to their health?

The Canadian Government and the nuclear industry continue to try to hide the long-term and lethal dangers we face from our exposures to uranium mining, refining, abandoned tailings piles, conversion facilities, contaminated towns, reactors and radioactive waste.

Simply stated: the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Health Canada, Natural Resources Canada and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited are corrupt and incompetent regarding their responsibility to protect us from the nuclear industry. They are guilty of a nuclear genocide in Canada.  (more...)

Toronto's buried history: the dark story of how mining built a city

Canada Toronto accountability mining resource extraction business corruption crime violence coercion

This coming Sunday, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) will host its 85th annual conference in downtown Toronto. With more than 20,000 attendees and 900 exhibitors, the conference is the largest of its kind in the world. During those four days, delegates take over 20 of Toronto’s downtown hotels and spend millions of dollars in its restaurants and bars.

By day they meet in the caverns of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre – an underground pavilion larger than 10 football fields – to make deals. When I attended the conference in 2013, by the end of day one my satchel contained several business cards, glossy brochures and a branded water bottle. I had an overview of mining prospects in Nunavut; surveys of global exploration and investment trends; a guide to investment in China’s mineral industry; maps of every gold-mining project in Alaska and the Yukon; and a series of brochures from the Mongolian ministry of mining promoting the emergence of large-scale coal extraction there.

The most striking find came from the booth of the US Geological Survey, whose material was entirely about extractive prospects in Afghanistan. A message on the back of the reports expressed appreciation for the generous support of both USAid and the Department of Defence.

The next evening in post-conference drinks at the Royal York hotel, I met a young woman who had spent the previous summer prospecting a gold formation in north-western Ontario. When I asked how much her company expected to sell it for, she shrugged and said, without smugness or irony: “Probably for hundreds of millions of dollars.”

On the third day, I left the conference to visit an aboriginal community centre in the east end of Toronto. A lecture was being delivered by a Mayan Q’eqchi’ woman from eastern Guatemala named Angelica Choc, who had initiated a lawsuit against Toronto-based Hudbay Minerals in the Ontario Superior Court.

Choc was suing the company for atrocities allegedly committed between 2007 and 2009, a time when the Canadian mining company Skye Resources was attempting to begin extraction at the Fenix mine, the largest repository of nickel in Central America. Choc says the company was attempting to displace the neighbouring Q’eqchi’ villagers from their land, and that security guards hired by the company reportedly committed multiple atrocities against the indigenous Mayan community. In 2011, she and 12 others in her community filed a civil lawsuit in Canadian courts against Skye, which has since been acquired by Hudbay; the suit is ongoing.

Our 20-person audience sat in silence as she described through a translator how security guards had murdered her husband and gang-raped 11 of the women in a neighbouring village before burning it to the ground. “No puedo entender como estos hombres pueden tener corazon,” she said as she wiped tears from her eyes. “I can’t understand how these men can have a heart.”  (more...)

Canada Is Fake

Canada indigenous ancestral lands sovereignty resource extraction mining coercion intimidation police RCMP violence

I just returned home from a trip to New York, where everyone I met was very excited to meet a Canadian in real life. “What’s Canada like?” they asked, looking at me with eager, puppy eyes. “I think about moving there sometimes. What’s it like? What do you guys do there? Is it cold? Tell me everything.”

Americans don’t know much about Canada, and I don’t blame them. They live in the greatest country in the universe, apparently. The rest of the world is meant to plan itself around the U.S., rather than the other way around, and often that’s how things tend to go down anyway. Canada and the U.S. share the longest international border in the world, and yet, the average American could probably go their entire life knowing nothing really substantial about their northern neighbor beyond what they glean from Degrassi. When Americans do encounter Canada, it is usually in disguise — in movies and on TV, Toronto plays New York, Vancouver plays California, and presumably something else happens to the big empty space between those two cities (to its credit, Montreal can’t really play anywhere else, and Alberta hosts a lot of Westerns, but that’s about it). So I can forgive Americans for being clueless. I can forgive them their ignorance about this big, cold, confusing place just to the north of them. And that’s why I want to clear something up, once and for all, so I can put your minds at rest and save us all a lot of time and energy.

Here it is: Canada is fake.

Now, declaring a country “fake” is both a bold and boring statement. A lot of countries are fake, really; they all require a sort of collective willful suspension of disbelief. Patriotism feels a lot like being super into astrology — sure, you might not be hurting anyone, but don’t you think it’s a bit odd to be focused on what is essentially an accident of birth? So yes, maybe all countries are fake on some level. To achieve a collective identity among otherwise unaffiliated souls, most nation-states share the sort of commitment to the bit that Benedict Anderson, the scholar of nationalism, once described as an “imagined community.” The state itself is the best evidence we have for the claim that something can be both socially constructed and also terribly consequential — a border is an utterly unnatural thing, something that is so flimsy and nonsensical that states spend billions of dollars maintaining the illusion of their reality every year. Canada, the US, Australia, Belgium, etc. are all obviously unreal and also devastating in their real impact.

But when I say that Canada is fake, I don’t mean anything so universal or theoretical. Canada is not an accident or a work in progress or a thought experiment. I mean that Canada is a scam — a pyramid scheme, a ruse, a heist. Canada is a front. And it’s a front for a massive network of resource extraction companies, oil barons, and mining magnates.  (more...)

Austrian Vatican Cleric Claims Catholics Can Be Freemasons

Catholic freemasonry modernism excommunications

VIENNA (ChurchMilitant.com) - Eight popes over 200 years in a barrage of 20 legal interdicts have condemned Freemasonry, pronouncing automatic excommunication against any Catholic who becomes a member of a masonic lodge.

Now, a new book by an official of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue is claiming that a practicing Catholic can simultaneously be a Freemason and that the penalty of excommunication may "certainly not" be applied to "Catholic Freemasons."

Father Michael Heinrich Weninger launched his 500-page study Loge und Altar: Über die Aussöhnung von Katholischer Kirche und regulärer Freimaurerei (Lodge and Altar: On the Reconciliation of the Catholic Church and Regular Freemasonry) last Wednesday in Vienna, accompanied by Austrian Lodge Grand Master Georg Semler on the dais.

Semler identifies as a "committed Catholic," while Weninger, ordained by Cdl. Christoph Schönborn in 2011, was outed as a Freemason when celebrating Mass at the consecration of the new lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1954 in 2014.

A masonic communiqué informed its members that "Bro. Rev. Michael was installed and invested as Chaplain in each of the three lodges," adding that Weninger was "well qualified since he lives in the Vatican as a member of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue but works in Rome."

Weninger says he has presented copies of his book to Pope Francis, to Schönborn and to high-ranking officials in the Roman Curia. Schönborn responded with "Nothing but goodwill," he bragged.

However, at a presser in 2013, Pope Francis lashed out at "a lobby of masons" while on a 2015 visit to Turin, the pontiff spoke of "worst conditions" for young people at the end of the 19th century when "Freemasonry was in full swing ... there were priest haters, there were also Satanists." In 2017, the pontiff compelled Cdl. Burke to purge Freemasons from the Knights of Malta.  (more...)

Far-Right Group Plotted To Attack Muslims, Politicians: German Prosecutors

BERLIN (Reuters) - German federal prosecutors won a court order to detain 12 men arrested on suspicion of involvement in a far-right plot to overthrow the political order by means of targeted attacks.

The men were arrested on Friday, four on suspicion of forming a right-wing terrorist organization last September and the rest of offering them financial support.

Popular support for far-right groups is growing in Germany, notably in the country’s former Communist east, as part of a polarization at both ends of the political spectrum that is undermining the mainstream establishment that been in government since World War Two.

The men, aged between 20 and 50, named their group ‘Derharte Kern’ (The Hard Core), the Welt am Sonntag newspaper reported on Sunday, saying they had been arrested in six different states.  (more...)

Pius VI and the Synod of Pistoia

Catholic synod freemasonry heresy modernism

One of the most brazen attempts to undermine the traditions of the Church prior to the post-Conciliar age occurred at the Synod of Pistoia in 1786, held in the region of Florence under the presidency of Bishop Scipio de Ricci, Bishop of Pistoia and Prato.

The Synod of Pistoia was the last gasp of the Gallican movement, which attempted to detract from the authority of the Holy See by transferring much of the governance of national churches over to their respective governments and synods of local bishops. It asserted radical innovations in Church governance and proposed sweeping reforms that touched on everything from monastic discipline to the sacramental theology to the order of the liturgy. In many places, the acts of Pistoia anticipate the thinking of the theologians of the Nouvelle théologie responsible for the calamities that followed the Second Vatican Council.

Pope Pius VI condemned the organizers of the Synod of Pistoia as “embarked on confusing, destroying, and utterly overturning [sound Christian doctrine] by introducing troublesome novelties under the guise of a sham reform" in his 1794 bull Auctorem Fidei. His bull goes on to condemn many of the propositions of the Synod as heretical, erroneous, impious, or contrary to Catholic custom.

I have been rereading a lot of the writings surrounding the Gallican controversy and the Synod of Pistoia in light of the coming Synod of the Amazon. A lot of the teachings given by Pius VI were prescient of our current crisis. I want to share some of the more relevant condemnations from Auctorem Fidei that might be eye-opening.  (more...)

Francis and the Schism of Germany. History of a Nightmare

Catholic synod Germany modernism married clergy same sex marriage Amazon

That on the Amazon is the second synod in a row in which Francis has disappointed the expectations of those awaiting the innovations that he himself, the pope, had foretold.

In the 2018 synod on young people, the issue on which the expectations and controversies had focused was homosexuality. The base document of the discussion, in its paragraph 197, explicitly admitted a possible paradigm shift in judging “homosexual couples.”

And instead nothing. When the synod gathered, Francis imposed and obtained silence on the subject. No mention was made of it in the assembly discussions, nor in the final document, much less in the post-synodal pontifical exhortation “Christus vivit.” And so that on young people - emptied of its only spicy ingredient - became the most useless and boring synod in history.

The following year, with the synod on the Amazon and especially with what followed, the disappointment of the innovators was even stronger.

Because this time at the synod the discussion did take place on the most awaited and disputed change, which was the ordination of married men. In the final document the proposal passed with more than two thirds of the votes. And still in early January many were sure that Francis would adopt and authorize it, in the post-synodal exhortation expected at any moment.

But then came, in strenuous defense of the celibate priesthood, the bombshell book by pope emeritus Benedict XVI and Cardinal Robert Sarah, received by the innovators as a disastrous omen.

And in fact shortly afterward the post-synodal exhortation “Querida Amazonia” fell like a sudden chill, with the total silence of Francis on the subject. To keep a feeble little light aflame, the innovators can only cling to the few introductory lines in which the pope invites “to read in full” the final document of the synod as well, from which “may God grant that the entire Church be enriched and challenged,” and recommends that “the pastors” of the Amazon “strive to apply it.”

But apart from this last crumbly foothold left by Francis at the disposal of the innovators, what has driven the pope to repeatedly apply the brakes in matters on which he had previously shown himself willing to innovate?

The answer is to be found in Germany.  (more...)

Vatican police seize documents, computers in finance probe

VATICAN CITY — Vatican police seized documents and computers at the home and office of a former official at the Vatican Secretariat of State in their continuing investigation into financial mismanagement.

In a statement published Feb. 18, the Vatican said the operation, which was authorized by Gian Piero Milano, Vatican chief prosecutor, and his deputy, Alessandro Diddi, led to the confiscation "of documents and electronic devices at the office and room of Msgr. Alberto Perlasca," the former head of the Vatican Secretariat of State's administrative office.

"The measure, taken as part of the investigation into financial and real estate investments of the Secretariat of State, is linked — while respecting the principle of the presumption of innocence — to what emerged from the first interrogations of the officials under investigation and suspended from duty," the Vatican said.

Vatican police conducted a raid on offices in the Secretariat of State and its financial oversight office Oct. 1 after suspicions of financial mismanagement were raised "by the Institute for the Works of Religion (Vatican bank) and the Office of the Auditor General, concerning financial transactions carried out over time," the Vatican press office said.

The following day, the Italian magazine L'Espresso published an internal notice from the Vatican police about the "cautionary suspension" of several individuals.

The report also alleged the raid was part of a Vatican investigation into how the Secretariat of State used $200 million to finance a property development project in London's Chelsea district in 2014.  (more...)

What's happening to the Catholic Church? And what, if anything, can I do about it?

Catholic gay clergy heresy modernism freemasonry

These are two questions which are in the forefront of the minds of all the faithful right now. Most of us are currently in shock at the open and widespread wave of apostasy among the Clergy of the Church not only at the highest levels but even down to the local parishes.

Even the best clergy seem incapable of admitting the problem. And none of them are as of yet proposing to do anything about it — with one notable exception, the Most Rev. Rene Henry Gracida, Bishop Emeritus of Corpus Christi, USA (who blogs at abyssum.org), who from February 2013 has been warning his brother Bishops, but who like us, is shaking his head at the non-action of them all.

However, for most of us, we do not have the knowledge of Bishop Gracida to understand what is going on in the Church. And so, for the sake of the general public, I will give a short summary of Church History to help you understand why literally all Hell is breaking lose in the Church right now.  (more...)

Wet’suwet’en bahlat reaffirms Coastal GasLink and RCMP must go

Wet’suwet’en hereditary chief Smogelgem has announced that Thursday’s bahlat reaffirms the position of the hereditary chiefs that Coastal GasLink and the RCMP must leave the Morice Forest Service Road. The road, which cuts through unceded Wet’suwet’en territory, provides access to an area where the company wants to construct part of its planned 670-kilometre gas pipeline.

The RCMP “must never return to inflict trauma on our people ever again,” reads the post shared by Smogelgem on social media. It also states that the bahlat reinforced the hereditary chiefs’ position that the B.C. and Canadian governments must engage in face-to-face meetings with the Wet’suwet’en.

“The resolve of our people is unwavering,” Smogelgem commented on the post.

The bahlat, or feast, is the traditional forum for decision-making by the Wet’suwet’en. It brings together members of the nation’s clans and house groups, and is integral to an Indigenous governance model whose existence and authority predates Canada’s legal system. The Canadian government banned the bahlat — more commonly known as potlatch in English — from 1884 to 1951 in an attempt to destroy Indigenous authority.  (more...)

Nazis in Canadian Safe Havens Must Be Prosecuted for War Crimes - Russian Embassy

Canada Nazi crime genocide accountability war justice Russia

TORONTO (Sputnik) - Nazi criminals should be prosecuted regardless of circumstances including those who have found safe haven in Canada, a Russian Embassy spokesman said.

On Friday, Russia’s Investigative Committee sent a request to Canadian authorities to provide legal materials related to Helmut Oberlander, a translator in a Nazi Einsatzgruppen death squad that Russia accuses of organizing a massacre of orphans in the Russian city of Yeysk during World War II.

“Russian position is well-known: Nazi war criminals and Nazi collaborators, including those who found safe haven in Canada to not face justice, should be punished for atrocities they committed or were complicit in, regardless of age. Nazi crimes have no statutes of limitations,” the spokesperson said on Friday.
Earlier, Canada’s Justice Department said it could not comment on the Russian request due to a bilateral legal treaty confidentiality clause.

Russia's Investigative Committee has opened a genocide case in relation to the massacre, after the Krasnodar regional branch of the Russian Federal Security Service in October published newly-declassified documents about the murder of approximately 214 orphans in Yeysk by Nazi forces.
The committee is trying to assess Oberlander's role in this crime against humanity, which the committee noted does not have a statute of limitations, in accordance with the 1945 Charter of the International Military Tribunal in Nuremburg.  (more...)

Dyanne Thorne, Star of 'Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS,' Dies at 83

Nazi Hollywood pornography

Dyanne Thorne, who starred as a wicked soldier of fortune in the Naziploitation film Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS and a pair of sequels, has died. She was 83.

Thorne died Jan. 28 of pancreatic cancer while in hospice care in Las Vegas, Howard Maurer, her husband of 44 years and frequent co-star, told The Hollywood Reporter.

After a turn as the Fairy Godmother in the X-rated Pinocchio (1971), Thorne portrayed a warden in a Nazi concentration camp in the waning days of World War II in the lurid She Wolf of the SS (1975), directed by Don Edmonds.

Ilsa subjects her female prisoners to torturous medical experiments to prove they can withstand pain as well as men and thus be able to serve in combat. She also has lots of sex with her male prisoners, and those who don't satisfy her are castrated.

According to the 2008 book The Porning of America, the movie was made on the Culver City set of the CBS series Hogan's Heroes, which had recently been canceled.  (more...)

Russia asks Canada to hand over files on ex-Nazi death squad member

crime fascism Nazi war genocide justice Canada

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia said on Friday it had asked Canada to hand over case files on a 95-year-old former Nazi death squad member living in Canada to help Moscow with an investigation into the mass murder of children at a Soviet orphanage in 1942.

Helmut Oberlander, who was born in Ukraine and became a German citizen during World War Two, was stripped of his post-war Canadian citizenship when Ottawa learned of his wartime activities.

In December, Canada’s Supreme Court rejected an appeal to restore his citizenship that he obtained in 1960.

Russia’s Investigation Committee, which handles probes into serious crimes, said it wanted Canada’s case and legal files on Oberlander and said it was checking his possible involvement in a massacre at an orphanage in the then-Soviet town of Yeysk.

In a statement, the committee said a death squad equipped with mobile gas chambers was deployed in 1942-43 to the German-occupied Krasnodar region, now in southern Russia.

“As a result of one such operation, on Oct. 9 and 10, 1942, a mass murder of children at the Yeysk orphanage was committed.”  (more...)

Brazilian Cardinal Behind Amazon Synod Is A German & A Rampolla House Member!

German synod Amazon Brazil Catholic freemasonry Rampolla Nazi heresy

Connect the dots! Connect the dots. The one thing that all Bergoglian apologists, Marixsts, Radicals, Progressives, Sodomites and Trads agree upon. You have no right to connect the dots. You are conspiracy theorists!

Here at FromRome.Info we do not theorize that conspiracies exists. But when members of conspiracies admit they exist then we investigate. That is true journalism.

Fake journalism is when you practice non think and non speak, to keep your job or your credentials.

So here we go.

Perhaps all Catholics have heard of Cardinal Claudio Aury Alfonso Hummes. He is one of the strongest backers of Jorge Mario Bergoglio and one of the strongest promoters of the so called Amazon Synod, whose purpose was and is to introduce marriage to the priesthood and idolatry to the Catholic Church.

What most do not know, is that he is not Brazilian. He was born and raised in the German enclave, of Montenegro in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.  In the Annuario Pontificio it lists his birth place as Montenegro, as if to make you think he was born in another country, perhaps.

But, no, Montenegro in Brazil is a German colony. Founded in 1847 by Germans from Rhine-Palatinate, in Western Germany. The specific part of which is called Hunsrück. So isolationist is this German settlement that even to this very day, there is spoken in town the local dialect of Hunsrück.

Rio Grande do Sul, the Brazilian province, is also known for another fact. That more than 600,000 persons of German descent live there. The second most German province in all of Brazil.

Connect the dots.

And yes, Brazil had Nazis during the Second World War. And Nazi War criminals who escaped on rat-lines came to Brazil and hid there. Even the nefarious and infamous Doctor Mengle!

Connect the dots.  (more...)

Wall Street Invading Wet’suwet’en First Nation Territory. Uprising Across Canada

Canada indigenous ancestral lands sovereignty resource extraction coercion intimidation police business environment accountability journalism

The uprising across Canada in support of Wet’suwet’en First Nation land defenders shows no sign of stopping. As of February 11, ports, bridges, rail lines, highways and roads have been blockaded across much of the country by solidarity protesters, who have also occupied the offices of politicians and at least one bank.

These actions were prompted by the RCMP’s invasion of Wet’suwet’en territory on February 5, after which they began arresting Indigenous members opposed to the 670 kilometers (416-mile), $6.2 billion Coastal GasLink pipeline being constructed on their unceded territory in B.C.

The Wet’suwet’en have never signed a treaty and in 1997 the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that they hold “Aboriginal title” to the land on which the pipeline is being built.

The Coastal GasLink pipeline will carry fracked natural gas from northeastern B.C. to Kitimat, B.C., where a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal is being built by LNG Canada – a partnership of Shell, Petronas, PetroChina, Mitsubishi, and Korean Gas.

While protesters have rightly condemned the RCMP actions, they (and the corporate media) have largely overlooked the role of a major player in this whole debacle: Wall Street titan Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., better known as KKR.  (more...)

St. Kateri Tekakwitha

St. Kateri Tekakwitha is the First Indigenous North American to be baptized a saint by the Catholic Church. She was born in 1656, in the Mohawk village of Ossernenon. Her mother was an Algonquin, who was captured by the Mohawks and who took a Mohawk chief for her husband.

She contracted smallpox as a four-year-old child which scarred her skin. The scars were a source of humiliation in her youth. She was commonly seen wearing a blanket to hide her face. Worse, her entire family died during the outbreak. Kateri Tekakwitha was subsequently raised by her uncle, who was the chief of a Mohawk clan.

Kateri was known as a skilled worker, who was diligent and patient. However, she refused to marry. When her adoptive parents proposed a suitor to her, she refused to entertain the proposal. They punished her by giving her more work to do, but she did not give in. Instead, she remained quiet and diligent. Eventually, they were forced to relent and accept that she had no interest in marriage.

At age 19, Kateri Tekakwitha converted to Catholicism, taking a vow of chastity and pledging to marry only Jesus Christ. Her decision was very unpopular with her adoptive parents and their neighbors. Some of her neighbors started rumors of sorcery. To avoid persecution, she traveled to an Indigenous Christian Community south of Montreal.

Sadly, just five years after her conversion to Catholicism, she became ill and passed away at age 24, on April 17, 1680.

Her name, Kateri, is the Mohawk form of Catherine, which she took from St. Catherine of Siena.

St. Kateri Tekakwitha was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on Oct. 21, 2012. She is the patroness of ecology and the environment, people in exile and Native Americans. Her feast day is July 14.
