NDAA 2027: A Trojan Horse to Link U.S-Israel Militaries

NDAA 2027 military integration Israel politics MIC Epstein class

In episode #597 of the SUNDAY WIRE SHOW, which aired on May 31, 2026, guest host Bryan “Hesher” McClain, filling in for Patrick Henningsen, with a deeper analysis and an in-depth look at one of the most consequential yet underreported developments currently moving through Washington.

At the centre of this week's program is language contained within the proposed 2027 National Defense Authorisation Act (NDAA) that would significantly expand defence cooperation and integration between the United States and Israel. Critics argue that the initiative moves beyond traditional military cooperation and toward a new framework of synchronised defence planning, technology development, intelligence sharing, AI systems, cyber capabilities, industrial coordination, and battlefield integration. Supporters claim the proposal is necessary to address emerging global threats and maintain strategic advantage.

We explore the constitutional, political, and geopolitical implications of these developments while asking a broader question: At what point does an alliance stop being an alliance and become something else entirely?

The time for a U.S. arms embargo on Israel is now

US Israel arms embargo opposition unpopularity funding dissent

The U.S. is starting talks on a new military aid deal for Israel as support for the country hits an all-time low. Israel’s supporters are feeling the pressure and pushing for cosmetic changes, but don’t fall for it. We need a full arms embargo

Israel’s standing among the U.S. public is at an all-time low after Americans have witnessed two- and-one-half years of live-streamed Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, fueled by tens of billions of dollars of U.S. taxpayer-provided weapons and diplomatic cover.

Last August, a Quinnipiac poll found that 60 percent of all Americans, including 75 percent of Democrats and 66 percent of independents, opposed U.S. military funding for Israel while only 32 percent supported it.

Even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seems to recognize the unpopularity of asking U.S. taxpayers to further subsidize weapons to Israel. In an interview with 60 Minutes earlier this month, Netanyahu suggested transitioning from “aid” to a “partnership.”

This was not a surprise. Netanyahu had announced earlier this year that he wanted to “taper off” formal U.S. taxpayer-funded weapons, known as Foreign Military Financing (FMF), to Israel over the next decade, in favor of increased co-production and co-development of weapons between Israeli and U.S. weapons manufacturers. This proposal garnered the backing of pro-Israel stalwart Sen. Lindsey Graham and aligns with proposals for strengthening the U.S.-Israeli relationship put forward by The Heritage Foundation and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), two pro-Trump think tanks with a hard-edged anti-Palestinian animus and clear pro-Israel agendas.

However, American taxpayers should be aware of the bait-and-switch nature of these proposals, especially as the U.S. and Israel now enter into negotiations for a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will outline the parameters of the bilateral military relationship over the next decade.  (more...)

The Rise of the Global South

Global South Iran Oman economy defeat Middle East Trump hegemony

The war on Iran has not only ended in a humiliating defeat for the United States, but resulted in a dramatic shift in the balance of power in the Middle East and the Global South.

The humiliating defeat of Israel and the United States in their war on Iran, along with the savagery of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, are ushering in a new world order. This order is one where voices of reason and stability emanate not from the West — which spent tens of billions of dollars sustaining Israel’s genocide — but from the Global South, including China. It is an order where alliances are being rapidly reconfigured to protect countries from a rogue American state that lashes out like a wounded beast, as it spirals toward terminal decline.

The end of the U.S. Empire, led by an impetuous and clueless Donald Trump, is irreversible. The U.S. has lost its sixth war in the Middle East in 25 years. Iran’s power has been enhanced not only because it — along with Oman — controls the Strait of Hormuz — where roughly 25 percent of the world’s seaborne oil and 20 percent of the world’s seaborne liquified natural gas pass through — but because it has delivered a stark message, with its drones and missiles, to U.S. allies and bases in the region, while sending the global economy into a tailspin.

Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — who reportedly lured Trump into the war with Alice-in-Wonderland visions of easy regime change in Iran following the decapitation strikes against the country on February 28, 2026, which included the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other political and military figures, along with 168 school children and their teachers — may strike Iran again. They are desperate. But a renewed bombing of Iran will not work. Iran’s mosaic defense strategy ensures all political and military commanders are easily replaced.

Iran can strangle the world economy by closing the Strait of Hormuz. It can accelerate the pain by getting its Yemeni allies — Ansar Allah — to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea, just as they did to Israel-bound ships when defending Palestinians after October 7. This could result in a complete blockade. Saudi Arabia, with the Bab el-Mandeb Strait open, is able to bypass the Strait of Hormuz and export five million barrels a day through its pipeline to tankers in the Red Sea port of Yanbu.

If a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is not reached soon, the global economy will crash, perhaps within weeks. The U.S. and its allies, such as Japan, have released some of their extensive strategic oil reserves, however they will not be able to cushion markets indefinitely. Stockpiles in America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve are near their lowest in more than 40 years. Once these reserves are depleted, the price of fuel will skyrocket. If a barrel of oil shoots up to $200, the price at the pump could climb as high as $10 per gallon. This, coupled with shortages of other petroleum-based products, along with nitrogen fertilizer, aluminum, and helium — an indispensable element in the production of MRI machines and semiconductors — are already shutting down vital industries and driving up prices on basic commodities.  (more...)

Why is the US spending more than half a billion dollars on a facility near Montreal?

Canada arms manufacture General Dynamics Montreal Salaberry-de-Valleyfield opposition dissent

The US Army is gearing up for a massive $682 million upgrade to the General Dynamics facility in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. The upgrade is set to increase production capacity from 6 to 16 million pounds of munitions and ordnance. This facility is of great importance as it is the sole supplier of the M31A2 propellant used in 155mm artillery ammunition. Investigations have revealed this propellant to have been actively used in Gaza by Israel.

On this episode of Local 514, host Kalden Dhatsenpa speaks with two activists organizing against this planned expansion. The #StopGDExpansion campaign is organizing a protest in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield this coming Saturday, May 30th, in conjunction with concerned residents who believe the expansion will negatively affect their health, the environment around Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, and who have qualms about the end use of the facility’s output.

Canada Montreal media Rebel News politics Zionists racists genocide ethnic cleansing oppression violence propaganda white supremacy Palestine solidarity

As Israel continues its slaughter, Canadian Zionist groups and politicians are defending a fascist Israeli politician. Itamar Ben-Gvir publishes photos of himself torturing activists and wears a pin celebrating hanging Palestinians, but some Canadians claim activists shouldn’t hang an effigy of the murderous fanatic because he’s Jewish.

On Sunday a Montreal 4 Palestine march included effigies of a handful of political leaders. A photo circulating shows Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu and Itamar Ben Gvir all lined up together in a mock hanging. But Rebel News videographer Guillaume Roy circulated a somewhat hard to make-out video with only the Ben-Gvir effigy, which has his trademark large white kippah, under the tagline “The pro-Hamas group Mtl4Palestine displays the [Montreal] Canadiens flag next to what appears to be an effigy of a Jew wearing a kippah, hanged with a rope.”

Several local Zionist politicians like National Post columnist Leslie Roberts shared it suggesting some type of criminality. Liberal MP Anthony Housefather quote tweeted Roy noting, “hanging an image of a Jew wearing a kippah in effigy is disgusting, antisemitic, and a clear incitement to hatred.” Conservatives Melissa Lantsman and Pierre Poilievre as well as Liberals Evan Solomon, Gary Anandasangaree and Leslie Church all echoed the defence of Ben-Gvir who has been sanctioned by Ottawa for his extreme right wing actions and words.

A few days ago the Israeli National Security Minister posted footage to social media of him mocking activists being tortured after being illegally detained in international waters in a bid to break the genocidal blockade of Gaza. Three weeks ago Ben-Gvir celebrated his 50th birthday with a cake ‘decorated’ by a death penalty noose in reference to a new death penalty law for Palestinian detainees. Decades ago he was blocked from joining the Israeli military because of his violent extremism.

But protesters in Montreal shouldn’t hang Ben-Gvir in effigy, say these Israel supporters. Inciting hatred of Ben-Gvir is a moral baseline.  (more...)

Is the Multipolar Order the Last Guard Against Globalism?

Globalism Germany Estonia technocracy deindustrialization financialization money laundering Meir Lansky Jeffrey Epstein

In 2026, the lines of global conflict have shifted. It is no longer just East vs. West; it is the People vs. the Technocracy. In this deep dive, we explore how the Western managerial class has effectively subverted traditional democratic structures in favor of an algorithmic administrative state. Meanwhile, we analyze the strategic pivots of Russia and China as they position themselves not as aggressors, but as defensive bulwarks preserving national sovereignty against a globalized technocratic order.

Germany is at a political tipping point as the AfD surges past 29% while Friedrich Merz and the CDU face historic collapse. Alex Christoforou and Alexander Mercouris on The Duran break down why Alice Weidel has become Europe's most effective opposition leader, why Merz's rearmament economic plan is a disaster for the German economy, and how the political establishment is preparing to blame Russia rather than their own failures. Is Germany about to experience its most transformative political moment since the founding of the Federal Republic?

How Palestine Activists Eked Out a Win at the Canadian Labour Congress

Canadian Labour Congress Histadrut Israel Palestine solidarity hot cargo Israel lobby influence

Canada's biggest labour body agreed to cut ties with its Israeli counterpart

The largest labour organization in Canada has committed to cutting ties with Israel’s trade federation, the Histadrut.

A resolution passed at the constitutional convention of the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) in Winnipeg earlier this month also calls on the Canadian government to support a two-way arms embargo, suspend the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement and condemn Israeli settlement expansion.

Kevin MacKay, who attended the convention as a delegate from the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE), told PressProgress that, when it came time for the vote, “We had a lot of the biggest labour leaders in the hall lining up at the mic to either speak or show support for the resolution.”

“It’s amazing to have leadership on board,” said MacKay, an anthropology professor at Mohawk College. “That’s not always the case.”

Until the eleventh hour, delegates like MacKay weren’t sure if they would be voting on a resolution to cut ties with the Histadrut — after a resolution to declare trade, services and relationships with Israel to be “hot cargo” was disqualified altogether.

MacKay is a member of Labour For Palestine (L4P), a volunteer-run effort made up of workers from across Canada. The group has been organizing to pass hot-cargo resolutions at provincial labour federations that would instruct workers to refrain from handling all goods produced by, or going to, Israel.

Less than a week before the convention began, activists with L4P got word that the resolution they spearheaded, which would have committed the CLC to issuing a hot-cargo declaration and cutting ties with the Histadrut, had been given a “non-concurrence” decision by the CLC’s General Resolutions Committee, meaning it wouldn’t be presented to delegates for a vote.

“We believe that this is a political discussion and a political decision,” Hassan Husseini, a member of L4P’s national steering committee, told PressProgress just ahead of the convention.  (more...)

Ireland advances bill targeting occupied West Bank settlement goods

Ireland trade Israel occupied West Bank settlements business

Ireland is advancing legislation to ban trade in goods produced in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.

Ireland is preparing to move forward with legislation that would prohibit trade involving goods produced in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, amid mounting tensions between Dublin and the Israeli regime over the war on Gaza and settlement expansion.

Irish Foreign Minister Helen McEntee said the government aims to secure passage of the bill by mid-July despite pressure from "Israel", members of the US Congress, and international business groups opposing the measure.

The proposed law would mark one of the most significant economic steps taken by a European country against illegal settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian territories.

With this step, Ireland joins 9 other countries in calling for an end to Israeli settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank, warning that escalating settler violence and "annexation" policies are undermining regional stability and prospects for a "two-state solution".

In a joint statement issued Friday, the leaders of Australia, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Germany, Canada, Norway, the Netherlands, and New Zealand condemned continued settlement construction by the Israeli occupation, stressing that such projects violate international law.  (more...)

Stopping contemporary fascism: What is to be done?

fascism domination resistance revolution dignity sovereignty Global South

Contemporary fascism has evolved into a globalized system of authoritarian domination led by the US and its allies, combining military aggression, economic coercion, media manipulation, and institutional capture against resistance movements and sovereign states across the Global South.

The first four months of 2026 will be recorded in the memory of the peoples of the Global South as the period in which contemporary fascism abandoned the last vestiges of hypocrisy. Far from being a mere historical replica of the interwar regimes, this phenomenon has evolved into a transnational architecture of domination led by the elites of the United States and their strategic partners —a hybrid, financialized, algorithmic, and transnational authoritarianism that feeds on digital polarization, institutional capture from within, the commodification of security, and the tacit alliance between military-industrial complexes, technological oligarchies, and reactionary governments — where the threat and coercive use of force have progressively replaced any operative vestige of international law.

The UN and international laws are not ignored out of carelessness or institutional incompetence; they are subjected to a systematic emptying, selectively instrumentalized, and neutralized when they collide with the strategic interests of the hegemonic center. De facto, the law of the strongest prevails, but it is masked in narratives of national security, financial stability, protection of human rights, and other fallacies that function as juridical smokescreens. What until recently was presented as "diplomatic pressure" or "selective sanctions" has been transformed, in an accelerated and structural manner, into massive and arbitrary economic sanctions, direct or covert military intervention, de facto territorial occupation, and planned humanitarian asphyxiation.

From the rupture of the Venezuelan government on January 3 —with the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, within the framework of "Operation Absolute Resolve" — to the unjustified and treacherous aggression by the United States and "Israel" against Iran, "Operation Epic Fury", launched on February 28 — which has also reached Lebanon as an object of aggression — the US empire has synchronized its blows with a precision that seeks to eliminate all poles of resistance in a single movement.

However, at the beginning of May, the balance is not what Washington expected. It is true: some progressive States in Latin America have fallen or have been neutralized. Argentina has become a laboratory of the far right. Venezuela is under intervention. To them have been added other countries that have subordinated their foreign policies to Washington: Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Guyana, and Trinidad and Tobago, all of which participated in the "Shield of the Americas" summit convened by Trump on March 7, sealing their alignment with the empire's hemispheric strategy within an updated Monroe Doctrine. The dream of a powerful autonomous regional bloc, of ALBA, of UNASUR, has been dismantled, for the moment. An even greater threat now hangs over the region: Cuba and Nicaragua are in the direct line of fire.

But the peoples — that category which desk analysts often confuse with their governments — have not been defeated. On the contrary, in the most extreme adversity, they are discovering new forms of organization and new transnational alliances. Underlying them is a consciousness and a historical memory that fascism will never manage to erase. However, it is decisive that the revolutionary movements be capable of orienting and mobilizing them.

This article aims to provide a diagnosis and a strategic analysis of the situation, identifying the weaknesses that have cost dearly, the threats that are pending, but also the strengths that sustain the resistance and the opportunities that, if well leveraged, can change the course of history. It upholds a fundamental thesis that must be clear from the outset: the most progressive States themselves — even while being capitalist, as well as those that are part of the long-awaited phenomenon of multi-polarization — have the historical obligation to confront this rapidly evolving process of fascistization. Taking a passive, supposedly neutral, stance of "exclusively" national interest — if this were even possible in a globalized world — becomes a boomerang for everyone. Fascism prospers, intends to swallow the weakest and most helpless, but in the end will try to devour the entire planet. This happened with Hitler: he was allowed to advance until, far too late, a limit was imposed on him. Tens of millions of human beings died. History cannot repeat that grave error.  (more...)

Canada needs to stop being America’s doormat

Canada politics deference America independence servility obsequious

When an Ebola-linked flight bound for Detroit got dumped in Montreal, Canada once again showed how reflexive deference to the US still works

Know what I’m getting really sick of as a Canadian? Harmful deferentiality towards the US that persists despite all the “elbows up” rhetoric.

In the latest example, an Air France fight took off from Paris, heading for Detroit. Do you see anything Canadian in that at all? Canada does!

The airline had royally messed up and let a passenger board from the Congo, the current global headquarters of Ebola. American authorities refused to let the plane land in their territory since they had recently banned all passengers from the Congo, specifically due to the viral outbreak. So, Canadian authorities let the plane land in Montreal. Then they let everyone off and put the passenger in question on the next flight back to Paris.

Why couldn’t they have done all that in Detroit? Is a plane considered to be inside a country the moment it decides it has feelings about the flight? No passenger is technically inside any country until they go through customs anyway. Why did they have to dump it all on Canada? I’ll tell you why. Because they had a choice, and Canada is far too nice.

The answer should have just been “no.” Not “no, but let us convene an interagency working group to explore the emotional implications of saying no.” Just “no.” No getting into the intricacies of Ebola infection risk or whose fault it all is, either. Or whether the guy is actually infected or not. Forget dedicating any bandwidth to any of that.

Perhaps Canada figured that it was doing its buddy, France, a favor, saving it from its own vetting screwup. Again, not Canada’s problem. Let them fight it out with the US. Tell France to threaten to just land the plane on Lake Erie and wish them luck.

It would have actually been the perfect time for Canada to propose, “Hey guys, you know that Gordie Howe International Bridge that Canada paid to build, running from Windsor to Detroit, that Trump insists on blocking? How about we get that sorted out in time to land this plane? Then maybe Canada will be compelled to lift a finger to help out. Otherwise, looks like this is a ‘you’ problem.”

Canada needs to stop doing any and all favors for America that aren’t a net benefit.  (more...)

How Israel and its agents hijacked British democracy

Britain Jeremy Corbyn Israel lobby political interference propaganda deception smears stigmatization anti-semitism books

In the Financial Times of 25 April, the conservative columnist Camilla Cavendish wrote casually of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s “vanquishing of the anti-Semitic Corbynite left.”

She writes such false oversimplifications regularly, like many other political commentators in the British mainstream media. Labour’s “anti-Semitism” during the years of Jeremy Corbyn — 2015-2020 – as leader of the then-opposition Labour Party is taken journalistically as a given. It is a throwaway piece of reporters’ “dash-matter” to describe his and his supporters’ identities, then and now.

A lie has entered the political language most people use.

Killing Corbynism sets out Israel’s final capture of Britain’s political class and commentariat during the past decade and the smearing of all Israel’s opponents or critics as bigots, anti-Semites, racists and terrorists.

Gordon-Nesbitt shows how the Zionist campaign helped to defeat Corbyn in his attempts to become prime minister of a proper, socialist, human-rights-protective British government: first in 2017, when he did surprisingly well; and again in 2019, when he did not.

Israel and its British-based Fifth Column of propagandists and character assassins helped deliver the party leadership to his deputy, Starmer, now prime minister, an active Zionist and supporter of Israel before and since the start of its genocide against Gaza’s Palestinians after 7 October 2023.  (more...)

Former foreign minister heckled over Israel support

Canada foreign minister Chrystia Freeland Zionist Nazi dog heckling politics activism

Chrystia Freeland was recently challenged for supporting genocide at an event hosted by a Jewish supremacist group held in a Zionist community centre.

After our Capitalism Can’t be Fixed conference concluded Sunday, a few participants interrupted Freeland’s speech. In Toronto from BC, one protestor labelled the former foreign affairs minister and deputy prime minister a “Zionist Nazi dog.” The disruption has gone viral on multiple social media platforms. Al Jazeera and other international media have reported on it.

Freeland is deeply anti-Palestinian. In the first year of slaughter in Gaza she attended multiple genocide rallies. As Israeli officials ramped up their genocidal rhetoric, Freeland declared that “Canada stands with Israel”. After the International Criminal Court announced it would seek arrest warrants for Israel’s prime minister and defence minister as well as Hamas leaders in late 2024, Freeland said it was “entirely inappropriate to equate the terrorist leaders of a terrorist organization [Hamas] with the democratically elected leaders of a democracy [Israel].” When I asked Freeland a year into the slaughter if she condemned Israel’s killing of 14,000 Palestinian children she declined to respond.

During her three years as foreign affairs minister Freeland promoted the genocidal, apartheid state. Canada’s voting record at the United Nations during that time was deeply anti-Palestinian. In December 2017, for instance, Canada sided with the US, Israel and some tiny Pacific island states in opposing a UN resolution supporting Palestinian statehood that was backed by 176 nations.  (more...)

Canada demands Israel flotilla abuse probe

Canada Ottawa Israel flotilla abuse investigation Mark Carney Anita Anand international law

Ottawa appears to be the first government to formally seek an independent investigation into the May 18-19 detentions

The Canadian government has called for an independent investigation into Israel’s “appalling” treatment of activists aboard the Gaza-bound flotilla.

Prime Minister Mark Carney said Monday that “the protection of all civilians and respect for human dignity must be upheld everywhere, at all times,” according to a government readout of his call with Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand said Israel’s denial of consular access to detainees violated the Vienna Convention, an international treaty requiring countries to allow detained foreign nationals to contact their diplomatic officials. Ottawa had provided West Jerusalem with evidence of abuse and expected “those responsible to be held accountable,” she wrote on X on Monday.

The diplomatic clash follows Israel’s interception of the flotilla in international waters on May 18-19 and the detention of hundreds of activists attempting to deliver aid to Gaza. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir later released footage showing detainees kneeling with their hands restrained behind their backs while he mocked them on camera.  (more...)

“Your media organization does not meet the CADSI Eligibility Requirements.”

Canada’s largest arms fair has refused media accreditation for multiple independent journalists and media outlets, including The Maple.

The CANSEC trade show, hosted by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) at Ottawa’s Cohere Centre this Wednesday and Thursday, is an annual event that attracts hundreds of arms companies and dozens of Canadian politicians as attendees.

Keynote speakers at this year’s event include Defence Minister David McGuinty and Industry Minister Mélanie Joly, as well as former United States president Joe Biden’s national security advisor, Jake Sullivan.

The organizers state that they work with the Canadian government “to engage a diverse global community” and list the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces as their “strategic partners.”

The Maple applied for media accreditation for this year’s CANSEC, but received an email from CADSI’s press team explaining that: “We have reviewed your application and have declined it for the following reasons [...] Your media organization does not meet the CADSI Eligibility Requirements.”

CADSI did not respond to questions from The Maple asking for details about its eligibility requirements and why it believes The Maple did not meet them. The Maple requested the decision to be reviewed, but heard nothing further from CADSI.  (more...)
