Ontario’s new sex education program will be released on Monday, according to the Canadian Press.
Education Minister Liz Sandals is expected to unveil the new curriculum on Feb 23rd, the first time it’s been updated since 1998.
The announcement comes after trustees with the TDSB were sent an email on Friday advising them a “revised health and physical education curriculum, grades 1-12, will be released by the Ministry of Education Monday, Feb, 23.”
The Liberals had abandoned an earlier attempt to update the curriculum five years ago following protests by parent and religious groups. Premiere Kathleen Wynne has vowed the new changes will be in place for the new school year in September. (more...)
