Jeffrey Baldwin's grandmother testifies at coroner's inquest

Elva Bottineau, the maternal grandmother of Jeffrey Baldwin who was convicted
of second-degree murder after his death, arrives at the coroners court in Toronto
TORONTO - Elva Bottineau is relishing her chance to finally speak publicly about Jeffrey Baldwin’s death — even though the lumpen grandmother is the very one responsible for killing him.

It is unnerving. It is enraging.

Why is she here, this piece of work, with her bad red dye job and her pinched face and her self-satisfied attitude? Why have we given her this pulpit and a day off from her life sentence for second-degree murder to travel to Toronto and testify at this inquest into Jeffrey’s 2002 death at her hands? What can she possibly add except lies and fairy tales?

And what stories she tried to tell.  (more...)
