Parents set up school in Mississauga park to protest sex ed curriculum


A Mississauga park gazebo recently served as a makeshift classroom for some children whose parents are intent on keeping their kids out of school if Ontario proceeds with implementation of its revised sex education curriculum.

Waterproof blankets covered a corner of the concrete floor gazebo in Churchill Meadows Park ­­– located in unobstructed eyesight between St. Faustina Catholic School and Churchill Meadows Public School on McDowell Drive.

With an assortment of books, puzzles, games, art supplies and writing paper at their disposal, a handful of parents provided a small group of children a lesson plan intended to replace instruction offered at one of Peel’s publicly funded schools Monday morning.  (more...)
