Joining Ryan Christian once again today is Shelby Thomson, co-founder of Unjected, here to discuss updates from the ground regarding the Maui fires and some even more compelling evidence that foul play was involved. We discuss numerous data points that clearly suggest a cover up; but the question remains: what exactly is being covered up? Was this merely a disaster, that was horribly handled, and now being hidden to avoid liability? Or was this a disaster that was allowed to take place, even driven into reality, in order to remove people from land that has been long-sought by corporate interests and government entities? Or even worse, could this have been an outright attack that was executed on the people of Maui? We should not shy away from asking these tough questions, in any circumstance, let alone when there is this much evidence of manipulation. However, it is important, paramount, that we do not assume or present our opinions as fact in such a devastating time. We must stick to what we can prove. And what we can prove at the moment is more than enough to put those responsible for the deaths of potentially thousands of people behind bars -- especially if we discover that many of the theories about far darker actions that might have been carried out, are proven to be true.
This dictator is out of control with lie upon lies. You cannot trust anything coming out of his mouth. His end is near indeed…
Two monuments to a Nazi military division with a record of war crimes have been hiding in plain sight in the suburbs of Philadelphia and Detroit. Both honor the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Galician), commonly known as SS Galichina.
Formed in 1943, SS Galichina was a Ukrainian unit in the Waffen-SS — the combat branch of the SS (Schutzstaffel) wing of the Nazi Party. Such units “were heavily involved in the commission of the Holocaust through their participation in mass shootings, anti-partisan warfare, and in supplying guards for Nazi concentration camps,” according to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, and were “responsible for many other war crimes.”
Marches and monuments honoring SS Galichina in other nations including Canada have been condemned by Jewish organizations and the governments of Ukraine, Germany and Israel. The Forward has over the last three years documented more than 1,600 monuments, memorials and streets honoring Holocaust perpetrators and Third Reich collaborators in 30 countries.
That includes 42 in 16 U.S. states, almost all of which focus on individual Nazi Party members, SS officers or collaborators. (The sole exception is a memorial to the Russian Liberation Army — a unit of Germany’s armed forces — at a convent in upstate New York.) (more...)

In this episode of the Patrick Henningsen Show on TNT Radio which aired on August 28, 2023, Patrick talks with author and political commentator Dr. Niall McCrae, about the numerous signals by the Western establishment about ramping up the COVID-19 hysteria again this fall and winter, and why it’s happening now. Also, does the attempted pandemic reboot have anything to do with the potential Biden vs Trump 2024 Election in America, and reinforcing the mass-mail-in voting trend that worked so well for one side in 2020? Also, between COVID-19, Ukraine and the woke ideological onslaught, are parts of the population still in a state of cognitive dissonance and mass formation from all of the crisis narratives inundating the Western collective mind?
Nighttime Podcast is joined by investigative journalist Paul Palango and legal analyst Adam Rodgers to discuss Canadian stories of crime, corruption, and items of public interest.
In this episode we discuss:
Between the effects of economic sanctions, the exit from nuclear, and the destruction of Nord Stream pipelines, the cost of energy has put Germany into a recession, and combined with radical Green policies, is deindustrializing the nation. Why are the Germans going along with this insanity? Are they really convinced that winning the Ukraine war is necessary to stop Putin from marching on Berlin? With the alternative which is emerging with the BRICS, of cooperation for economic development, can Germany and the West be convinced to break with the British geopolitical doctrines which led to two World Wars in the last century?
Increasingly since the pandemic, in cities across the country, more and more people are choosing to live in a tent, often out of necessity, because they feel unsafe in overcrowded shelters, or they’re turned away because shelters are at capacity.
Encampments have become a regular fixture in parks and sometimes on city streets, as more and more people face rapidly increasing rents and fewer and fewer options.
According to Cathy Crowe, a longtime street nurse working with unhoused populations, one major factor in the housing shortage was a program the federal government cancelled in 1993. Canada had funded 20,000 new units of social housing each year up to that point — but since the program was cut, Crowe says the country has seen a 30-year deficit of new affordable housing, which has resulted in chronically long waitlists to access housing.
She’s seen the toll of this crisis firsthand. Each month, she witnesses between 10 and 16 names added to Toronto’s memorial for people who have died while living unhoused.
“We have people literally dying on the street in every season of the year,” said Crowe. (more...)

The majority of Canadians have yet to realize that the Income Tax Act was illegally imposed by Kraut George VI to assist his German cousins, Canada’s WWII enemy, rebuild Nazi Germany post WWII.
Majority of Canadians don’t know that the Income Tax Act was illegally imposed when the Government of Canada was officially prorogued. The Governor General refused to be a part of the illegal act so Kraut George VI had the deputy Governor General stand in for him and give Royal Assent on the day that the Government of Canada was officially prorogued.
The UK’s illegitimate German monarchy (illegitimate because the UK’s German monarchy and all German monarchies were abolished in 1919), Kraut George VI, assisted Germany rebuild and gain financial control of Europe after WWII by enacting the Income Tax Act while Parliament was prorogued. The income tax dollars that were unlawfully obtained from Canadians were funneled to Germany.
Income tax dollars were unlawfully obtained because the Income Tax Act (1948) never legally received Royal Assent. Bills/Acts which have not received Royal Assent “before prorogation” are “entirely terminated”, dies. (more...)
It is common today to be confronted with the belief that any country, any civilization that gains a certain degree of power, will be destined to become an empire. After all, we are in an American system of empire right now that is presently clashing with competing systems of empire from the East, correct?
Well, this is at least, the thinking that has been driving 77 years of cold war to this present day. That despite us being told that the cold war ended in 1989 with the fall of the Berlin Wall, it is rather evident that this cold war is still ongoing.
So is humanity doomed? Can a flourishing and prosperous civilization avoid the seductions of empire?
Journalist Whitney Webb sits down with Redacted's Clayton Morris for a dense conversation about her bombshell new book on Jeffrey Epstein's deep connections to the world's biggest power players. She exposes the deep corruption and cover up at the heart of the western power structure.
Dr. Reiner Fuellmich and his co-hosts get comprehensive insights from George Webb, the renowned American investigative journalist on various special topics that everyone has more or less heard or read about.
He is known for his meticulous research and uncovering of explosive information that has been and continues to be kept from the general public. Many of these important details and connections are only gradually coming to light through courageous journalists like Webb, who are active on the front lines, to give people the opportunity of recognition and understanding of what is really happening in politics, business, media and health care and how deep the swamp of corruption and abuse of power is.
Fueled by his own experiences and adventures, especially the 9/11 and anthrax attacks, he turned to investigative journalism to help people draw their own conclusions, do their own research, and gain an alert mind so they can resist the egregious manipulation of psychopaths who give free rein to their fantasies of omnipotence.
He is not afraid to name names and numerous other facts, to expose well-known figures who play their inglorious roles in the perfidious deception narratives of governments, media and politics. They have no qualms about waging wars at the expense of the population, fomenting conflict, using using sickness as a business model, and caring solely about their own well-being and advancement rather than for the people who elected and trust them.
What is the role of the intelligence agencies? What is the DARPA project, anyway? In what areas and among what actors can we assume controlled opposition, and why are activists, such as Dr. Peter and Ginger Breggin or Dr. Judy Wood under extreme attack?
And how deep do we still need to dig, how many dots do we need to connect over and over again to see the truth and the full extent of a vast, broadly organized structure of crimes against humanity by infiltrated institutions, individuals and and propagandistic media manipulation?

The Canadian airwaves are often perceived as a banal thing, driven by rather bland citizens accepting of a socially progressive, economically neo-liberal society. Yet, rather than being a product of people residing in Canada, it is instead the product of the Canadian state’s legislative and bureaucratic suppression of ethnic communities, Indigenous communities and dissenting voices. That suppression, beginning after the CRTC was founded via the Broadcasting Act in 1968, ensures that ethnic and community media are structurally prevented from substantively criticizing Canadian foreign policy.
Community media was initially given some support by the CRTC, an arm of the Canadian state. In 1975, according to an unreleased journal report by Gretchen King, a Community Media Advocacy Centre (CMAC) Research Consultant and Assistant Professor of Multimedia Journalism and Communication at Lebanese American University, the CRTC mandated “cable companies to provide a community channel and financial support (based on a percent of revenues)”. In 1990, King explained that the CRTC put supporting a community channel as a mandatory element required “in return for the privilege of profiting from the use of public airwaves and cable infrastructure created through public policy”. Yet from 1997 onwards, the CRTC limited required expenses for large telecommunications companies and pushed support for independent media efforts (both community and ethnic) which relied on government funding, into the hands of telecoms who could keep more money in-house, effectively having “deregulated community television”.
By the 2010s, new methods of suppression were being conducted via the CRTC. They protected large television companies from community media organizations who repeatedly caught them in violation of licensing conditions and punished these organizations by blocking off critical opportunities for growth, even when forced to punish television companies. The experiences of Independent Community Television Montreal and its national project Tele1, in exposing misdeeds of large telecommunications companies and the CRTC’s efforts to protect these companies, is just the latest example.
This is only the top layer of the suppression cake the Canadian state maintains to control the airwaves. (more...)

Not long past the break of dawn, along a remote road deep in the unceded, forested mountains of southern Vancouver Island, the steady blaring of a conch shell sends a warning through the trees.
A raid is coming.
In the Savage Patch camp, a new front in a years-long struggle over the fate of some of the country’s oldest trees, a small group of forest defenders scurry to pack sleeping bags and douse the fire that kept them warm through the night.
Uncle Rico, a Cree land defender, streaks her face with red warpaint. A young, broad-shouldered settler land defender, known as Sandstorm, beats a drum gifted to him by a Native ally. He sings an ancestral Viking warrior song, the reverb of his voice echoing through the quiet of the woodland morning. In this camp, everyone goes by a pseudonym. Uncle Rico begins to sing the Women’s Warrior Song as the group forms a circle and joins the call to battle.
This fight is for the ancient forest of the Fairy Creek Watershed, which is being systematically cut down by the largest privately-owned logging company in the province.
For over three years, settler activists and Indigenous land defenders have fought to save some of the last and largest old growth trees on the planet. Thousands of forest defenders once occupied the 1,189-hectare watershed, spread across isolated camps and blockades where they chained themselves to hard blocks, set up tree sits and perched under handmade tripods dozens of feet in the air.
Their desperate attempts to stop the harvesting of majestic red and yellow cedars, trees up to 2,000 years old, have been met with force by both the RCMP and the Teal-Jones Group. Teal-Jones owns the rights to Tree Farm License 46 in the Fairy Creek Watershed, which it purchased 20 years ago. Those rights allow the company to cut stands of old growth that have not been specifically protected by the provincial government. The company produces shingles and shake from the coveted cedar wood.
These cedars are some of the oldest in the world, and their habitat is the last unprotected, relatively intact watershed on southwest Vancouver Island. Little wonder then that it has drawn so many passionate defenders. (more...)

In his 1988 book War Stars: The Superweapon in the American Imagination, H. Bruce Franklin traces a deep-rooted cultural belief in the magic of futuristic weapon systems that would enable the U.S. to defeat any foreign adversary.
Franklin dates the infatuation to the era of the revolutionary war with the development of the combat submarine by Robert H. Fulton to pulverize the British Navy.
He in turn shows a direct line through World War I and World War II and the development of air power and the atomic bomb, through the Vietnam War where sophisticated U.S. war machines could not defeat the guerrilla warfare tactics of the Vietcong.
Franklin could easily include a new chapter on Ukraine, whose summer counteroffensive has fizzled despite the country’s function as a testing ground for new American weapon systems.
These include space-based satellites and sensors that have been used by the Ukrainians to track Russian troop movements and assist in navigation, mapping and electronic warfare, and positioning systems that guide precision weapons and drones.
A webinar in mid-July hosted by the War Industry Resistance Network placed the U.S. strategy in Ukraine in the context of a broader attempt by the U.S. to militarize space and use it to destroy its leading geopolitical rivals—Russia and China. (more...)

Black Ribbon Day is also known as the Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism. But this veneer of humanistic solicitude is a facade for historical distortion and antisemitic rhetoric, perpetuated by far-right movements across Eastern Europe.
Today marks Black Ribbon Day, more formally known as the Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazis. With its roots stretching back over four decades, Black Ribbon Day came about as a reaction to investigations by the United States and Canada into the possibility that war criminals escaped justice and settled in North America after World War II. It’s a noble goal, of course: Who could be opposed to bringing Nazis, who carried out one of the most horrifying acts in all of human history, to justice?
But these prosecutions stalled at roughly the same time as the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the commemoration took on a new role as the histories of post-communist Eastern European nations from the Baltics to the Balkans and the Black Sea were rewritten from a nationalist perspective. This rewriting of history is closely intertwined with the resurgence of far-right, ultranationalist movements throughout Eastern Europe since the fall of Communism. It’s equally connected to the triumphs in rehabilitating the reputations of wartime collaborators, Holocaust culprits, and various other fascists.
This historical distortion was seized upon and exploited by the agents of American imperialism in the immediate post-Soviet era. The long-term effects of this retelling of history are amply evident today, as warmongering Western media commits feats of cognitive gymnastics to downplay, distract, and dismiss the rise of Europe’s far-right into the political mainstream, where it wields influence over NATO. “Remember the group of operators going into the trenches and eliminating the Russians occupying the positions in heavy close-quarters gunfire?” This is how Jonasz Rewiński, the awkward NAFO-affiliated host for TVP World, the Polish state broadcaster’s English language program, started a segment on his Youtube show earlier this summer. “I’m sure you remember,” he told his audience of online war enthusiasts.
Rewiński was referring to apparently viral combat footage from Ukraine’s 73rd Naval Special Operations Center that the famous “journalist” or “war propagandist” Yuri Butusov declared “one of the most impressive close-combat videos ever.” The 73rd Naval Center of Special Operations, allegedly the “Ukrainian Navy SEALs,” has been reported to be “leading the shadowy battle against Russia.” According to the Kyiv Post, this “highly-secretive unit” is said to have “trained for years, prior to the war, with NATO special operations units from the US, Poland and Lithuania among others.”
In late June, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces published an interview with “Wild,” the soldier that filmed the video, in which he kills several Russians in a trench. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine promoted the interview on social media. What’s truly wild is what a neo-Nazi “Wild” is. A large swastika is even tattooed on his chest. (For readers of “Ukes, Kooks & Spooks,” he is also a friend of the “Vedmedi SS,” an openly neo-Nazi squad that fought with the Azov Regiment in Mariupol.)
An even larger swastika is tattooed on the chest of Kent “Boneface” McLellan, an infamous neo-Nazi skinhead and Azov veteran from Florida, and one of the “leaders” of the “American Banderite Network” (ABN) which was formed earlier this year. The “Ukrainian racialist scene” is “eons and eons ahead of us,” he explained in a recent interview. “That’s why I do a lot of work with the American Banderite Network… because I think that’s an upcoming idea.” (more...)
Nighttime Podcast is joined by investigative journalist Paul Palango and legal analyst Adam Rodgers to discuss Canadian stories of crime, corruption, and items of public interest.
In this episode we discuss:
The geopolitical situation in Eastern Europe has gone through numerous shifts in the last 30+ years, ranging from massive Soviet military presence to near-complete demilitarization that reached its peak in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Ever since, but particularly after Poland joined NATO, the course has slowly but steadily reversed. However, while the process was incremental up until early 2022, since then, it has escalated to almost unimaginable levels. Warsaw's ambitions to build perhaps the most powerful ground force in the European Union are not only an expensive endeavor, but also an extremely dangerous one.
Namely, the plan to acquire massive amounts of weapons from the United States and its vassals and satellite states, particularly South Korea, includes a plethora of systems, the purpose of which can hardly be described as anything but offensive. Since last year, Poland announced it will acquire 250 US-made "Abrams" main battle tanks (MBTs), hundreds of HIMARS and "Chunmoo" multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), K9 self-propelled 155 mm howitzers, up to 50 FA-50 trainer/light combat aircraft, as well as 1000 K2 tanks, 820 of which are projected to be produced in Poland. Warsaw also plans to procure at least 32 F-35 fighter jets.
It's worth noting that, apart from "Abrams", HIMARS and F-35, all of the aforementioned weapon systems are South Korean, (in)famous for their extreme cost. For instance, the K2 stands at a staggering $8.5 million apiece, making it one of the most expensive MBTs in the world. In fact, it's so expensive that South Korea, whose economy is almost three times larger than that of Poland, approved mass production for K2 only after Poland announced its intention to acquire them. Even Turkey, which has an economy that's approximately 20% larger than Warsaw's, plans to procure no more than 100 "Altay" MBTs (these are essentially a licensed copy of K2). (more...)

Majority of Canadians don’t know that WWI didn’t end in 1918. Majority of RCMP don’t know that they were formed in 1920 to serve and pledge allegiance to Canada’s WWI enemy, Germany.
Since 1920 all RCMP paramilitary officers have pledged allegiance to a German monarchy that was forever abolished in 1919 – the UK’s German Saxe-Coburg and Gotha monarchy. Kraut George V was the cousin of Canada’s WWI enemy. He and his German cousin conspired to wage WWI for the Crown. All World Wars are waged by Germans for the Crown.
There’s ample evidence that proves that WWI did not end in 1918. Because WWI did not end when the RCMP was formed in 1920 all RCMP officers have committed high treason against Canada. They all serve Canada’s enemy as a paramilitary force.
It’s imperative Canadians know and under what a paramilitary force is. Since 1920 the RCMP functioned mainly as a paramilitary force. Throughout WWII the RCMP functioned as a paramilitary force for the UK’s 1919 abolished German (Kraut) monarch George VI. Throughout WWII the RCMP served Canada’s enemy as a paramilitary force. Their sworn allegiance was and is to Canada’s notorious enemy, not to Canada. The majority of Canadians don’t realize that Germany had a paramilitary force in Canada throughout WWII as well as a paramilitary force in Germany and occupied Europe. (more...)
Canada has long undermined impoverished countries’ bid to draw greater benefits from their commodities. Ottawa’s opposition to Indonesia’s move to add value to its nickel and rejection of its call for a producers’ partnership is a recent example.
Canada is a third-party supporter of a European Union lead suit against Indonesia at the World Trade Organization (WTO). They challenged Jakarta’s restriction on exports of unprocessed nickel and bauxite. Indonesia is appealing a WTO ruling that found its measures to be inconsistent with the body’s prohibition of export restrictions and bans.
Irrespective of WTO rules, the world’s largest nickel producer has generated huge benefits from the move. In short order the value-added benefits Indonesia garnered from the commodity rose 20-fold from US$1.1 billion to $20.8 billion.
Last year Indonesia raised a nickel producers’ partnership with Ottawa. As the world’s sixth biggest producer, Canada could benefit from stabilizing and boosting the price of the commodity. But Ottawa rejected the proposal out of hand. “We are not looking at that particular model in the way that they have proposed,” industry minister Mary Ng told the Financial Post in an article they headlined “Global nickel cartel off the table as Canada’s trade minister rebuffs Indonesia’s approach”.
Canada could benefit from higher nickel prices, but it isn’t interested in even exploring the matter due to the country’s position towards the apex of global capitalism and extractivism. Historically, this country has supported wealthy nations at the WTO, IMF and similar forums while repeatedly opposing the formation of producers’ agreements designed to help poorer commodity dependent nations reverse the deeply unequal terms of global trade. Through interviews with key witnesses, along with documents and cables from key ministries in Canada and Namibia, The Canada Files has discovered the unlawful dealings behind a massive pump and dump scam from a Canadian oil company, Recon Africa. The project had the diplomatic backing of the Canadian government, ostensibly for ‘development’. Yet in reality, it was supported on behalf of a key Liberal ally, Will Adams, the former lobbyist for Recon Africa. The operation was saturated with corruption, political nepotism, and fraud on all levels.
Existing laws in Namibia were ignored outright to allow the project, human impact was shamelessly ignored, and whistleblowers who refused to take bribes were threatened and harassed to the indifference (and tacit support) of the Canadian and Namibian governments. Even small-time investors in the project were defrauded.
The Canada Files reached out to consumer rights activist and Canadian Rob Parker, who has been active in dealing with the effects of the ReconAfrica project since the drilling began in March 2021. The Canada Files also reached out to Rinaani Musata, a member of the Economic Social Justice Trust (ESJT), and Moronga Amnatenya Thomas, the head of the Okavango Conservancy.
According to Rob Parker, ReconAfrica was originally going to base their act of fraud on shale gas, using a fake media campaign headed by James Stafford. The project was going to be a search for shale gas in the Okavango basin in Botswana and Namibia, using fracking.
However, fracking was declined by the Namibian government, so Recon Africa ‘re-evaluated’ their claim in the region to an ‘estimated’ 120 billion barrels of petroleum, instead of shale gas. Yet the region they obtained the license for was the shallow end of the already explored region, making the possibility of finding any valuable resource in the region virtually nonexistent.
According to Parker and Thomas, Recon Africa obtained a petroleum exploration license to drill using an incomplete Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) on a national holiday. This being Heroes’ Day, August 26th, the day Namibia was founded post-Apartheid.
On national holidays, all government offices, particularly commerce related ones, are supposed to be closed, making the timing rather suspect. Moreover, the Namibian government under the ruling SWAPO party is infamous for corruption scandals and collaborating with NATO’s colonial adventures in the region. All three of the people we interviewed suspected bribery within the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Tourism on that basis. (more...)
Dr. Reiner Fuellmich and Dagmar Schoen speak with Cathy O'Brien, a survivor of the CIA’s MK Ultra mind control program, to which she was sold by her father as a young child and from where she was passed on to the White House and to the Pentagon for abuse and blackmail purposes.
Based on her long path of suffering and torture, which began with the abuse by her father and grandfather, who was a member of a Masonic lodge to which she was handed over, Cathy O'Brien has gained profound insider knowledge which she talks about in this interview. She has been able to overcome these traumas and now openly speaks about issues such as child abuse and human trafficking to bring these abuses to light, raise awareness and sensitize society.
She tells us why a traumatized society is easier to indoctrinate and control, how mind control programs work, and that these programs are applied much more commonly on all levels of life than most people can imagine. It is especially in so-called elitist circles that such traumatization programs are frequently used, with serious consequences not only for the victims but also for the perpetrators, whose crimes make them vulnerable to blackmail and control thus turning them into compliant tools for the Svengalis and their evil agenda, particularly on a global political level. According to Cathy, this form of blackmail based on pedophilia and abuse has become one of the key mechanisms of manipulation in the highest circles of government and the judiciary. Cross-border child, human and drug trafficking is therefore not only the most lucrative business of the so-called elites but also their basis for global blackmail for geostrategic purposes. The now widely known Epstein case is only one piece of the puzzle.
Cathy O'Brien does not shy away from providing names of perpetrators she was around, including Gerald Ford, Hillary and Bill Clinton or George Bush, and uncovers many backgrounds and their effects on today's socio-political situation worldwide. She shows us some of the connections between the infiltration of secret services, traumatizing events such as the JFK assassination or the September 11 attacks, and NGOs like the WEF with its Young Global Leaders program. She further explains what all this has to do with the so-called "New World Order," the global agenda of unelected elites to restructure and take total control of the world and enslave humanity.
Who is really pulling the strings and manipulating people's narratives and thinking via the mainstream media, and what is the media’s role in these operations? How can we defend ourselves against this takeover by a seemingly superior power?
Cathy O'Brien provides encouragement and advice and proves that there is always a way out of trauma towards healing if we are willing to see the truth, regain our human spirit, and take action.
Cathy O’Brien has written down her experiences in her book “The TranceFormation of America”, which resulted out of her Congressional hearing in 1995, published by Reality Marketing, ISBN-10: 0966016548, ISBN-13: 978-0966016543
A British nurse has been found guilty of the murder of seven newborn babies and the attempted murder of another six during her time at a neonatal unit near Liverpool. Police are currently investigating whether Lucy Letby harmed any other infants during her time at the hospital.
The verdict, which came on Friday after a ten-month trial, makes Letby the most prolific child killer in modern British history, Reuters reported.
Letby, 33, worked as a neonatal nurse at the Countess of Chester Hospital between 2015 and 2016, when doctors reported a string of unexplained deaths and injuries among newborn and premature babies. Hospital management dismissed these reports, but a police investigation was launched and Letby was arrested in 2018.
A search of Letby’s home revealed handwritten notes in which she confessed to murdering the babies. "I am a horrible evil person," she wrote in one note, "I AM EVIL I DID THIS." Parents came forward and told investigators how they walked in on Letby attacking infants at the hospital, with Letby responding “trust me, I’m a nurse” in one case. (more...)

Through their concerts, the artists are able to engage with a wide audience. They have collectively established the 'Anti-fascist Caravan', delivering humanitarian aid to Donbas since 2014. This time, citizens of Italy, Germany, Portugal, and Turkey all joined to get acquainted with the situation in Donbass firsthand. Activists emphasise that true comprehension of the events and the importance of holding those responsible for crimes against civilians, can only be grasped on-site. The musicians' Anti-fascist Caravan not only aids those affected by Ukrainian shelling but also aims to raise awareness about the reality of the conflict.
Swiss lender Credit Suisse did not review all available records when it conducted an internal probe into the historical servicing of Nazi clients and Nazi-linked accounts, according to an investigation published by U.S. lawmakers on Thursday.
The bank failed to include numerous relevant records in its probe, according to details from an independent reviewer's report obtained and published by the Senate Budget Committee.
"Just under" 1,000 of 65,000 sets of records were available electronically for review, the report said.
The full report also revealed that the bank had blocked the former ombudsman overseeing the probe from seeing "critical" materials, the committee said in a statement.
"Out of respect for Holocaust victims and their families, we cannot turn a blind eye to these shortcomings," Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, the ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, said in a statement.
Neil Barofsky, the former ombudsman, and AlixPartners, the consulting firm Credit Suisse hired to conduct the probe, did not respond immediately to a requests for comment. (more...)

In the 1970s, Canada held American Indian Movement (AIM) activist Leonard Peltier and turned him over to the U.S. Feds; Now the Coutts Four have been denied bail and have been in prison for more than 500 days without trial. The threat of domestic terrorism by right-wing groups is being invoked to justify shredding of civil liberties, much like in the U.S.
Over five hundred and fifty days ago, between the evening of February 13 and afternoon of February 14, 2022, four men were arrested for their participation in Freedom Convoy protests at the Alberta border town of Coutts.
They were charged with conspiracy to commit murder of police officers in support of a plot to overthrow the Government of Canada. Nicknamed the “Coutts Four,” they are landscaper Chris Carbert, electrician Chris Lysak, lineman Jerry Morin, and gravel truck owner Anthony “Tony” Olienick. They were taking part in protests about the vaccine mandates, and the unique requirement that truck drivers entering Canada be vaccinated.
The Coutts Four have been denied bail and have remained in custody for over 550 days. No trial date has been set. Pre-trial motions occurred between July 25 and 28 at the Lethbridge, Alberta, courthouse.
A quick online search makes it clear that even persons accused of murder are granted bail in Canada. (more...)
Does Canada have Political Prisoners?
One day after my mother informed my father of her pregnancy with me, he received orders from the US Marine Corps to report to Vietnam. One month later, he was patrolling Quảng Nam Province with a brigade of South Korean Marines nicknamed the “Blue Dragons.” I’ve long yearned to piece together a story of how the faraway events coinciding with my gestation shattered our family after his return. The war’s brutality has never been anybody’s secret. By now, the 50th anniversary of the Paris Peace Accords, no aspect of any feature of the conflict would seem to remain unexplored. Yet my boyhood quest to mine the details of what my father did in Vietnam has foundered over the first and most general question: What were South Korean Marines doing there?
A clue tapped me on the shoulder earlier this year. In February, a district court in Seoul ordered the government of South Korea to pay compensatory damages to Nguyễn Thi Thanh, a Vietnamese woman, in a lawsuit she brought over an event that had taken place 55 years earlier, nearly to the day. On the morning of Feb. 12, 1968, about 100 combat troops from the Republic of Korea’s 2nd Marine Brigade poured into Phong Nhị in Quảng Nam Province. The Blue Dragons set homes ablaze and then proceeded to shoot, stab, drown, and hack to death 70 women, children, and infants. The butchery left no uninjured survivors. Nguyễn, 8 years old, took a bullet to the stomach. The rest of her family perished.
The South Korean government has appealed the verdict, which marked the first time any court in South Korea had attributed culpability for a massacre of Vietnamese civilians. More such lawsuits are likely to be brought. Since 1999, journalists, scholars, and veterans in Seoul have documented more than 80 similar massacres of a total of (at least) 9,000 civilians in three provinces. “There’s a strong sense among the survivors that the problem has to be resolved before their generation passes on,” Ku Su-jeong of the Korean-Vietnamese Peace Foundation said in 2016.
Only a few US news outlets reported Nguyễn’s victory. The silence bespeaks a curious subtraction of memory. (more...)

Presentation highlights darker truths behind violence and intimidation against Indigenous land defenders resisting resource extraction
he RCMP’s Community-Industry Response Group (C-IRG), a special unit that polices Indigenous resistance against resource extraction in British Columbia, has adopted the playbook from former CIA director David Petraeus, according to a presentation at a summit held on Wet’suwet’en territory this week.
Kai Nagata, communications director at Dogwood BC, spoke at the third annual Peace and Unity Summit for Wet’suwet’en and Gitxsan hereditary chiefs, elders and allies from human rights organizations from around the world.
Looking around the room, those in attendance sat in shock at what they were hearing and seeing. Nagata’s presentation highlighted the darker truths behind the campaign of violence and intimidation many Indigenous community members have experienced on their territory for years in their fight against the Coastal GasLink pipeline.
The images of the RCMP’s militarized tactical team raids on Wet’suwet’en territory in the winter of 2021 made headlines across Canada and around the world.
During the raid, RCMP snipers, canine units, and specially trained forces of the C-IRG chain-sawed their way through Molly Wickham’s cabin door and arrested her. Shaylynn Sampson, along with journalists Michael Toledano and Amber Bracken, were also inside the cabin.
It was in that moment, as images travelled around the world, that the fight of the Wet’suwet’en land defenders went global.
But, Nagata said, there is much more going on in those pictures of men in heavy tactical gear, using brutal force as they arrested unarmed Indigenous land defenders. (more...)

Ezra Levant was joined by Manny Montenegrino to discuss how the facade of political integrity is fading as Canada grapples with escalating issues, from economic instability to social challenges. Manny is the CEO of Think Sharp and former lawyer to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Ezra and Manny first discussed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's announcement on social media that he and his wife Sophie are separating, delving into how this aligns with Trudeau's public and frequent identification as a feminist.
The electronic tabulating machine developed by Herman Hollerith for the 1890 U.S. census was the direct predecessor of the machines used to track down Japanese Americans for internment during World War II. Hollerith’s punched-card system—which stored coded information on perforated paper cards—was one of the foundations of the company that became IBM, whose German subsidiary provided technology for the Nazis extermination campaign against Jews and other perceived enemies.

In 1936 some of Canada’s most prominent citizens convened to hear how their country faced “extinction” unless they were willing to sterilize the “feeble-minded,” the “indigent” and the “degenerate.”
Eugenics policies were already in vogue across Europe and the United States, and if Canada had any hope of embracing a prosperous future, it had to take up the “biological (necessity) of improving its racial qualities,” said Clarence Campbell, a visiting representative of the Eugenics Research Association of the United States.
The location was the Canadian Club, the Toronto-based speaker’s forum that still ranks as one of the pinnacle venues for so-called “thought leaders.” Campbell was speaking from a lectern that had recently featured the likes of Amelia Earhart and Winston Churchill.
The only thing missing was political will, said the eugenicist. Only with “united national attitude and action” could Canada hope to seize the “immeasurable good” of eugenics. In this, said Campbell, Canada should be more like Nazi Germany, one of the only countries at the time that had been “intelligent enough” to embark on its own aggressive program of racial betterment.
The Nazis embrace of eugenics was “wholly human in its intent, and it not only occasions no real human suffering, but prevents a vast amount of it,” Campbell told the Canadian Club.
Eugenics is a little-mentioned part of Canada’s early 20th century history. Canadians might know that “Father of Medicare” Tommy Douglas wrote his master’s thesis on the pressing need to keep the “sub-normal” from reproducing. Reportedly, the Historic Sites and Monuments Board is currently reviewing Douglas’ status as a “national historic figure” for precisely this reason.
Canadians may also know that the Famous Five — the Alberta women who got women recognized as “persons” under the Constitution — also championed the sterilization of the “mentally unfit.” (more...)
