Former School Board Employee Sentenced to Two Years in Jail in Fraud Case


The man who bilked the Thames Valley District School Board out of what was reported as $2,064,616 will serve two years behind bars.

David Ferguson pleaded guilty to fraud over $5000 and breach of trust after over-purchasing telecommunications equipment and then selling it privately. Two other charges had since been withdrawn.

The scheme went unnoticed by the school board for seven and a half years.

A compliance review found irregularities and TVDSB officials contacted London Police in August 2014.


An eight-month long investigation by police uncovered a “complex fraud,” for which Ferguson turned himself in.  (more...)
