Sting using virtual 10-year-old Filipina snags more than 1,000 online pedophiles
A Dutch anti-child exploitation group has used the computer-generated image of a 10-year-old Filipina girl to identify more than 1,000 online pedophiles from around the world.
The men who solicited online sex with a virtual 10-year-old Filipina girl named "Sweetie" did not know that she was a 3-D virtual girl.
From a location in Amsterdam, a group of four researchers with the activist group Terres des Hommes Netherlands, were able to identify the adult predators, including 254 Americans, 110 British, 103 Indians, 54 Canadians, 46 Australians and 44 Germans.
Researchers said that over a period of about 10 weeks more than 20,000 adults from 71 countries offered "Sweetie" between $1 and $100 to see her perform sex acts via webcam although they were told multiple times that she was only 10 years old.
Hans Guyt, director of the group, said, "They come from all over the world - from America, Europe but also from countries like India, Japan, Korea." (more...)
