TWO WOMEN, WHO CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED, TALK ABOUT THE CRIMES OF RAYMOND COLES WHO WAS SENTENCED NOV. 15, 2013 TO FOUR YEARS IN PRISON |
"This was an extreme abuse of trust, the misuse of his Canada Post position and the impersonation of a customs officer, first to extort money, and then he forced sex on the second victim," Justice Ian Nordheimer said as he passed sentence against Raymond Coles.
Last month Coles pleaded guilty to sexual assault, two counts of extortion and impersonation.
Coles used his work computer to cull personal details from the first victim, a 32-year-old nanny, whom he contacted on June 22, 2012, identifying himself as officer Robert Ademi and demanding she meet him.
He also used his work computer to download a customs officer badge and to download nude photos of Filipino women, court heard.
Coles ordered the nanny to write a letter implicating her friend -- a second victim -- in a marriage fraud, Nordheimer said.
Coles threatened to have her deported if she refused his demand, Nordheimer said. (more...)
