VIP paedophile inquiry detectives struggling to cope with sheer volume of investigation

Detectives probing child sex abuse by top politicians and celebrities have been swamped by the increase in allegations, says a top policeman.

The officer, a key figure investigating the alleged Westminster paedophile ring, says his team does not have the resources, manpower or leadership to deal with it.

He explained to the Sunday People: “With so many historic and current national operations into child abuse we are stretched to the limit.

"At times it seems like Mission: Impossible with little or no co-ordination.”

He says some in the team of more than 1,000 are being worn down by the huge workload and are still waiting for extra manpower and funding that was pledged by Home Secretary Theresa May.  (more...)
