Moncton teacher William MacGillivray found guilty of all charges

Moncton teacher William MacGillivray has been found guilty of child luring, sexual exploitation of a female student, and obstructing a police officer.

MacGillivray, 43, is a teacher and drama instructor at Harrison Trimble High School.

The offences occurred between March 1 and Nov. 30, 2013, when he was no longer the alleged victim's teacher.

The jury reached its verdict early Friday evening.

The judge has asked for a victim impact statement. The minimum sentence for the crimes is one year and MacGillivray will remain in custody.

Sentencing will take place May 21.  (more...)
