Hands-on Teachers Busted

LAS CRUCES >> A former Centennial High School teacher suspected of having inappropriate sexual contact with a student has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies - the third such arrest in Las Cruces Public Schools in a little over a year.

Phillip Hernandez, 25, of the 700 block of Homestead Circle, is charged with three counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor, all fourth-degree felonies, according to a Las Cruces Police Department news release.

Hernandez was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on a $15,000 cash-only bond.  (more...)
