TORONTO - The killer thornbush by the kindergarten door was gone before the ink on my Monday column was dry.
School board crews miraculously appeared at Golf Road Junior Public School and hacked down the Little Shop of Horrors menace.
At least now no kid’s gonna lose an eye.
Workers also cleared asphalt rubble from the playground and cut away crumbling eavestroughs.
“When we dropped off the kids, there were already TDSB trucks circling in the yard,” says Melanie Smith, 36.
Board spokesman Ryan Bird tells me the yard surface will be fixed, the bathrooms scoured and the thornbrush stump dug out.
Better late than never, I guess. (more...)
