Trump’s turn toward war with Iran was not a break from “America First” by accident, but the outcome of behind-the-scenes pressure from pro-Zionist financial and political networks.

The strange genesis of the United States of America’s illegal execution of a foreign head of state who was also the spiritual leader of many of the world’s Shia Muslims in a war of attrition supported by only 21 percent of Americans lies in November and December 2024, with a seemingly anodyne choice of White House personnel. During those months, Trump appointed Howard Lutnick as Secretary of Commerce and Scott Bessent as Secretary of the Treasury—and left Robert Lighthizer, the U.S. Trade Representative in Trump’s first administration, out in the cold. Lighthizer is a policy intellectual who spoke against the doctrine of “free trade” and a true believer in using carefully crafted tariffs to re-source labor to America. Lutnick and Bessent are creatures of Wall Street and the Jewish Zionist networks which since the 1980s have justified and implemented “free trade” via White House appointments, think tank donations, and academic sponsorships. At the time of Lutnick’s and Bessent’s appointments, Lighthizer expressed concerns that America First policies would not be top of mind for people who’d spent their professional lives opposing them. According to the reporter who interviewed Lighthizer,

He sounded contemplative, trying to imagine the incentives of the particular men who might now wield influence over the President. “I don’t know—I don’t know how billionaires think,” Lighthizer went on, perhaps thinking of Trump, too. “I’ve never been one.”

Lighthizer did not misrepresent his level of knowledge of billionaires. What has happened with these appointments has been far more of a betrayal than what he foresaw. Like many seemingly bland personnel moves in the insider operations of empire, the sidelining of Lighthizer and the appointment of Lutnick and Bessent effectively secured the cooption of Lighthizer’s “America First” platform that Trump won reelection on: a platform of re-sourcing domestic production and extracting ourselves from foreign ties. What we have instead, a year and a half later, is that platform’s inverse—an empire running amok, decapitating foreign leaders and waging war. And this is thanks to the circle of whom Lutnick and Bessent are the Administration’s most visible members: Zionists who induced Trump, based on his obsessions with foreign investment and resource extractions, into global wars for the benefit of "Israel". International Association of Lawyers slams unlawful US-Israeli aggression against Iran

 

The International Association of Lawyers, a global legal body, has condemned the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, saying that the attack must be addressed in full compliance with international law.

The international professional organization, known by its French acronym UIA (Union Internationale des Avocats), expressed its “utmost concern” on Saturday over the three-week US-Israeli military aggression that has so far killed hundreds of civilians in Iran.

The UIA stated that the unprovoked war on the Islamic Republic “undermines the fundamental principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, including the duty of States to settle international disputes by peaceful means, and the ban on the use of armed force in international relations.”

“It is of additional grave concern that the conflict is escalating across the region, with civilians being particularly affected by the consequences of hostilities,” the union said.

The UIA reaffirmed that upholding a rules-based international legal order is paramount, adding that “this order demands that all international actors operate with restraint and prudence in their pursuit of peace and security.”

The organization also joined United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in calling for an “immediate cessation of hostilities and de-escalation.”

Urging all parties to return immediately to the negotiating table, the union reiterated that “there is no viable alternative to the peaceful settlement of international disputes, in full accordance with international law.”  (more...)

Canada’s super-rich are using foundations to funnel huge public sums to elite universities and Israel

 

Over half of the money hoarded in Canada’s private foundations should have been paid as taxes. Instead, it’s being funneled to wealthy institutions and organizations complicit in Israel’s military occupation

Private foundations are curious entities.

They are charitable organizations and must be registered in Canada in order to issue tax receipts for donations. But, unlike the tens of thousands of other registered Canadian charities, most private foundations do almost nothing that Canadians would recognize as “charitable.” 

They are almost always set up and controlled by wealthy families, and do not raise funds from the public. A family typically makes donations to its own foundation and, once made, the donation becomes part of that foundation’s stockpile of funds, sometimes adding up to hundreds of millions of dollars. 

Only a small fraction of these ever-growing stockpiles ever leaves the foundation and ends up in actual charitable activity. And much of the money that does trickle out ends up going to charitable institutions (universities, hospitals, concert halls) that offer desirable naming rights in return.

Of course, the wealthy have the right to create large stockpiles of their own money, and to give it away or not give it away as they choose. But that’s not what is going on here. 

Rather the money in these stockpiles is money for which the wealthy donors have received major tax concessions, depriving the country of revenue. This means that much of the money in these foundations is really taken from the public purse; it is public money. In making a donation to its foundation, a wealthy family is putting in some of its own money, along with some public money (often, mostly public money). The family then gets to effectively control all the funds in its foundation, distributing them to the charitable causes of its choice, when and if it chooses. This is an extraordinary amount of power over what amounts to a great deal of public money.  (more...)

The Iran War May Trigger the Single Greatest Economic Disruption in History

 

In speaking with EIR's Harley Schlanger on March 19, market analyst Alex Krainer warned that the effect of the breakdown of oil and gas production and delivery due to the Iran war may be the "single greatest disruptor of the world economy in history." Krainer, a former hedge fund manager and commodities trader, said that while price hikes due to wars and other disruptions take time to have a knowable effect, the Trump-Netanyahu war against Iran is foolish on multiple levels, which may create a level of disruption which will take years to stabilize.

The biggest problem, he said, is that the damage extends far beyond shortages of energy resources. It affects agriculture, transport and manufacturing, while the inflation that it generates causes central banks to react to liquidity problems by unleashing a flood of liquidity, to monetize the debt. This can trigger a "commodity super cycle," leading to long-term price increases in commodities, building to a systemic crash.

This was foreseeable, he said, but was ignored by Trump and his advisers, who seem to have been driven by hubris and delusion in choosing to go to war, combined with an ignorance about the history of Iran. He endorsed the proposal of Helga Zepp-LaRouche that we need a rapid transition to a New Paradigm, but don't expect it to come from the existing establishment. He said that the necessary changes must come from an aroused citizenry, but they must be educated. As an example of total establishment dysfunction, he pointed to the European Union, which he said appears headed toward dissolution, similar to that which brought down the Soviet Union.

Burghard Lindhorst is among the “journalists” who has been escorted to a “secret location in the heart of Israel” where Elbit makes drones. In return for that privilege, he rhapsodized about how those remote-controlled warplanes have “proven their worth” as they went “hunting” Iran’s missile launchers.

The Hybrid War Against Brazil: The Geopolitical Siege and the 2026 Elections

 

Hybrid wars operate by saturating the public space, destroying trust, disorganizing social perception, and manipulating real crises.

When new revelations about the relationship between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein began to emerge, the US government shifted the focus of its international agenda with a military escalation against Iran. The timing between a domestic scandal and a foreign offensive cannot be interpreted as mere chance. In the history of great powers, international crises often also serve the function of reorganizing the internal public debate, repositioning leaders and rebuilding legitimacy through war. When this movement against Iran is observed together with recent US policies towards Latin America, the picture becomes even more disturbing.

The aggression against Iran does not only affect the Middle East. It has a direct impact on the global economy, puts pressure on energy prices, affects logistics chains, makes inputs more expensive, and can produce sensitive effects on peripheral or semi-peripheral countries, including Brazil. In a context where economic stability is a central variable in any electoral dispute, a war involving the USA, Israel, and Iran could have concrete effects on inflation, fuel, exchange rates, food costs, and the social perception of well-being. In other words: an international conflict of this magnitude could also interfere with the political conditions for Lula’s reelection.

However, the decisive dimension of this war is geopolitical. The attack on Iran should not be seen as an isolated episode, nor as a mere continuation of its historical antagonism with the USA. Iran occupies a strategic position for China, due to energy and the logistics routes linked to Eurasian integration; it is relevant to Russia for its cooperation in the nuclear sector and its position on the North-South corridor. Furthermore, as a member of BRICS, Iran has become part of a broader arrangement challenging the unipolar order. From this perspective, the aggression against Iran can be read as an indirect attack on Russia, China, and the BRICS group as a whole. The immediate target is a State; the strategic target is the emerging multipolar order.

If this interpretation is correct, Brazil appears as a piece of special value. It is a founding member of BRICS, holds territorial, energy, mineral, food, and diplomatic weight, and remains one of the few nations capable of acting in an autonomous margin between different poles of power. Precisely because of this, it has become a priority target of a new architecture of pressure. This architecture was unashamedly spelled out in the 2025 National Security Strategy, when the USA reaffirmed the western hemisphere as a space for containing rivals, protecting strategic assets, defending critical supply chains, and combating “narco-terrorists,” concluding with the willingness to affirm and impose a “Trump Corollary” to the Monroe Doctrine. The message is brutally clear: Latin America is once again being treated as a zone of US strategic tutelage, and any change in the hemispheric power architecture directly affects Brazilian sovereignty. ‘Tribe and train’: Examining Canada’s new model of white supremacist mobilization

 

‘White Nationalism 3.0’ is a modern strategy for white supremacist organizing. It promotes decentralized, local clubs that engage in fitness training, combat sports, and male bonding as gateways into extremist networking and activism. The term was coined in 2020 by Robert Rundo, an American neo-Nazi who gained notoriety for rioting and engaging in violence at several political rallies across the United States.  

White Nationalism 3.0 was framed as a new phase of organizing following the “1.0” racist Skinhead activism of the 1980s and the “2.0” era associated with the rise and fall of the “alt-right” in the 2010s. Groups adopting this new model are often referred to as ‘Active Clubs’ and have proliferated across Europe and North America. The White Nationalism 3.0 strategy is the operational blueprint for several white supremacist organizations in Canada including Second Sons and Nationalist-13, and individuals often use the slogan ‘Tribe and Train’ as shorthand to describe their approach.   

The fitness-oriented activities of these groups are not solely pursued as ends in themselves, but are instead means of achieving political objectives. As one leader of Second Sons stated during a 2025 livestream: “The reason you tribe and train is not about…the exercise. It’s not about the boxing. The reason that you engage in tribe and train is to practice organizing… If you can organize 100 guys to go for a hike… then you can organize 100 guys to go to a conference and you can organize 100 guys to go to a protest…that’s how we fucking win”.

The ideology of groups that have adopted White Nationalism 3.0 is rooted in the Great Replacement theory: the conspiratorial claim that white populations are being deliberately replaced by non-whites through a combination of immigration, procreation, and policy decisions.  

These groups are not monolithic. Active Clubs embrace a variety of worldviews, strategies and tactics to defend against what they perceive to be an existential threat to the white race. For example, Nationalist-13 and Second Sons – two key groups in Canada that have adopted the White Nationalism 3.0 model – differ in their messaging, branding, and aesthetics, with the former openly embracing neo-Nazism and the latter presenting a more sanitized image focused on shared Canadian heritage and white identity. Even within each group, individual members may hold differing views on ideology and strategy. 

Despite this heterogeneity, Active Clubs have been relatively successful in unifying actors across a previously fractured white supremacist movement. In Canada, groups have united individuals from influencer-oriented communities such as Diagolon, racist skinheads, and even designated terrorist entities like Atomwaffen Division and the Terrorgram Collective.  (more...)

Lyndon LaRouche, the American philosopher and worldly statesman, once posed the question, “How much does a thought weigh?”

On March 3, in the 144th weekly session of the International Peace Coalition dialogue, the exchange of ideas prompted IPC founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche to issue on March 9 an open call upon Pope Leo XIV to sound a clear trumpet call to rally various religions, cultures, and heads of government to respond to the “might makes right” abandonment of law and morality, and to initiate the real world steps for a new international security and development architecture.

On March 15, the American-born Pope issued a call for an immediate ceasefire in Iran and, as Zepp-LaRouche summarized the developments over the last day: “[S]hort of responding to our campaign, the open letter to the Pope, nevertheless there are a lot of statements that have come from church circles, Vatican circles, all absolutely, massively condemning this war. State Secretary Cardinal Parolin rejected the claim that this is a preventive war, by saying that they keep the dialogue open, but that this is not a preemptive war. Cardinal McElroy, Archbishop of Washington, said the war is morally unjustifiable. Chicago Cardinal Cupich said it was sickening how the White House was splicing video game imagery into social media messaging about the war…. The head of the Italian Bishops’ Conference called on all religions to seek bold solutions to war, and even the German Cardinal Marx, who is the Archbishop of Munich and former head of the German Bishops’ Conference, sharply criticized the attack by Israel and the U.S., saying that according to Catholic social teaching, this is an illegitimate war and cannot be accepted. This is quite important because normally the German Catholic Church is always more close to the government, and they never stick their neck out like that. But he called on people not to resign themselves to this. He said, we must not allow ourselves to be discouraged. Now more than ever, we must be involved both as church and individual citizens. Now that is very important.”

Today Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Israeli military to occupy southern Lebanon, move almost a million citizens from their homes, and carry out a “security” mission there, modelled upon what was carried out in Gaza the last two years. U.S. President Donald Trump, asked whether he knew about this plan, admitted that he did, then stumbled around saying that it had to be done to destroy Hezbollah and that it had nothing to do with most of the population.

Over the weekend, Trump had claimed U.S. air strikes had “totally demolished” much of the Kharg Island oil export hub, but added: “We may hit it a few more times just for fun.” Not one of the countries he called upon to join him in sending warships to free the Straits of Hormuz has agreed. When Britain’s Prime Minister Starmer made his refusal, he reported: “I said to them: We will remember.” China responded by telling Trump to simply stop the unnecessary war and the Straits of Hormuz would be re-opened. At every turn, he issues new threats, as a King Canute ordering the ocean waves to cease. And now, his public behavior has become a major subject of public discussion around the world.

When the emperor is naked, the little boy’s innocent question—"Why is that man wearing no clothes?"—has a massively therapeutic effect on the whole population, one that had been spending so much effort damaging their own minds and spirits, so as not to say the obvious. Ideas deployed properly, when it looks like nothing works, is what works. This is what separates Zepp-LaRouche’s conclusion today from merely naive optimism:

“So I think we are well positioned to fight for a breakthrough. A breakthrough being that we have to absolutely get the new security and development architecture on the agenda, because only if we move people into a new paradigm of axioms of thinking, where we overcome geopolitics, do we have a chance to break out of it.” 

The thought that humanity is made in the image of God, with a divine spark of reason, capable of necessary and creative interventions into the world, is arguably the most weighty substance in the universe.

Anti-Palestinian repression remains the driving force behind Germany’s democratic decline

 

Germany’s crackdown on pro-Palestinian activism is driving a broader erosion of civil liberties and democratic standards. According to Timo Al-Farooq, measures targeting Palestine solidarity are expanding into wider repression of dissent across society.

In terms of civic freedoms, last year ended on yet another low note for Germany.

As the criminal Israeli regime’s most loyal fixer in Europe throughout the ongoing genocide in Palestine, the Federal Republic remains hellbent on sacrificing its liberal democracy on the altar of what Columbia University professor Joseph Massad has described as the “genocidal cult of Zionism.”

In December, the Johannesburg-based CIVICUS Monitor downgraded Germany’s civic space from “narrowed” to “obstructed,” citing state repression against Palestine solidarity as the core reason.

The authors decry that “German authorities have continued to severely restrict the right to protest in solidarity with the Palestinian people” and that they react to any “perceived breach of overly broad protest restrictions” with “severe police brutality, including kettling, pepper spraying, punching and choking.”

The report also identifies the weaponisation of antisemitism as a key strategy to silence anti-genocide voices.

“Instead of supporting those advocating for human rights, Germany has conflated anti-Israel criticism with antisemitism, chilling speech nationwide, emboldening the right, and silencing civil society voices,” the group’s Europe researcher said.

This is the second downgrade in two years after CIVICUS changed Germany’s status from “open” to “narrowed” in 2023 as a result of its crackdowns on pro-Palestine protests in the first three  months of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.  (more...)

Peter Thiel presents the theory of a globalist institution taking a messianic role to curb risks of AI and technological revolution

US-German billionaire Peter Thiel, a co-founder of PayPal and Palantir Technologies, is holding a controversial series of lectures on the Antichrist in Rome this week, prompting criticism from Vatican-linked officials and institutions, according to multiple media reports. Thiel continues to face scrutiny over his ties to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The invitation-only conference, which began on Sunday and runs through Wednesday, is taking place at a secret location near the Vatican.

The content of the lectures – closed to the media and under tight security – is unclear, but is expected to focus on Thiel’s theory that the biblical Antichrist may appear not as a malevolent figure, but as “a reassuring actor” and heroic administrator aiming to manage technological risks.

This figure, in Thiel’s telling, will use existential fears, like AI, climate change, and nuclear war, to convince the world to unite under a single centralized government.

According to Fortune, Thiel’s vision essentially “blends theological language with Silicon Valley’s anxieties over AI, transhumanism, and decay of meaning.” CNN also noted that the billionaire believes the Antichrist might come “not necessarily as a person but… as a global government system.”  (more...)

Israel Lobby Suffers Crushing Defeat in Canadian Court

 

On March 14, hours before pro-Palestinian activists were scheduled to march in Toronto to commemorate Quds Day (Jerusalem Day), a Canadian court dismissed an application by Ontario's Attorney General for an injunction to prohibit the rally.

In dismissing this extraordinarily undemocratic application, the Court issued a stinging rebuke of the Attorney General.

Dimitri Lascaris examines the Court's decision and explains why Canadian courts have been a reasonably fair venue for the adjudication of the rights of Palestinians and their supporters.

Canadian monarchists are trying to blame the Iranian government for a killing apparently committed by supporters of the Shah. This type of inversion of reality underpins discussion of Iran, masking a fanaticism that likely contributed to the murder of Masood Masjoody.

On Saturday the Vancouver police reported the arrest of two suspects in the killing of Masjoody. Mehdi Ahmadzadeh and Arezou Soltani were charged with first degree murder.

A former SFU professor involved in many legal disputes, Masjoody disappeared in early February.

Opponents of the Iranian government immediately accused Tehran of murdering him. A UK Guardian headline, for instance, read “Iranian mathematician missing in Canada may have been targeted by Tehran, activists say.”

This frame dominated the discussion of his disappearance despite the fact Masjoody was suing the son of Iran’s former Shah Reza Pahlavi.

While the police haven’t cited any motive for the murder — if there was evidence of Tehran’s involvement it would have been mentioned — the two individuals charged are staunch monarchists. Masjoody had tweeted that the two individuals charged with his murder wanted to kill him because of his opposition to Pahlavi. There’s a photo circulating of one of them with Israeli, US and monarchist flags and another of both of them with Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre.  (more...)

Gaza is only the start. The new world order is one where the weak are obliterated by the strong, the rule of law does not exist, genocide is an instrument of control and barbarism is triumphant.

The war on Iran and the obliteration of Gaza is the beginning. Welcome to the new world order. The age of technologically-advanced barbarism. There are no rules for the strong, only for the weak. Oppose the strong, refuse to bow to its capricious demands and you are showered with missiles and bombs.

Hospitals, elementary schools, universities and apartment complexes are reduced to rubble. Doctors, students, journalists, poets, writers, scientists, artists and political leaders — including the heads of negotiating teams — are murdered in the tens of thousands by missiles and killer drones.

Resources – as the Venezuelans know – are openly stolen. Food, water and medicine, as in Palestine, are weaponized.

Let them eat dirt.

International bodies such as the United Nations are pantomime, useless appendages of another age. The sanctity of individual rights, open borders and international law have vanished. The most depraved leaders of human history, those who reduced cities to ashes, herded captive populations to execution sites and littered lands they occupied with mass graves and corpses, have returned with a vengeance.

They spew the same hypermasculine tropes. They spew the same vile, racist cant. They spew the same Manichaean vision of good and evil, black and white. They spew the same infantile language of total dominance and unrestrained violence.

A Global Dialogue for Peace, Or A Clash of Civilizations?

 

What the world now sees taking place in Southwest Asia—where, most recently, the long-standing nation of Iran, and the 3,000 year-old history of Persia itself, has been illegally attacked—is not based on the “strategic” calculations, or miscalculations by those in the Trump Administration who stupidly carried it out. Rather, it is a policy expression of the world view of the deeply corrupt and predatory elite of the Epstein-Maxwell Class. Their abuses of power, including the sexual exploitation of probably thousands of young women and children, reflect the same predatory mindset that has been seen in the killing of tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands in Gaza, and in the economic policies they seek to impose on sovereign nations worldwide. They subject to war those countries that refuse to comply.

There is no difference in that mentality, as it now manifests itself in Ukraine, where hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians have lost their lives in a war in which many have been treated as expendable cannon fodder, and in Gaza, where systematic mass killing has been inflicted upon the Palestinian people despite widespread outrage across much of the world. Predation is the method in their madness.

A clear insight into the factor of insanity driving the behind-the-scenes controllers of the Trump Administration, the hardcore “Greater Israel” fanatics, and the City of London was indicated in a recent article by Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to United States Secretary of State Colin Powell. A present “Great Awakening” of pseudo-religious fervor and fanaticism, Col. Wilkerson says, is being driven by two factors: “(1) the marriage of certain evangelical Christian religionists with ultra-Zionist Jews and (2) the insinuation and spread of Christianity itself in the U.S. military establishment and a movement toward formalizing Christianity as the national religion with that formidable bastion of state power as its protector. With regard to the first we are witnessing one of its disastrous outcomes right now — the illegal and unprecedentedly brutal war against Iran. The second more insidious result, now proceeding hand-in-hand with the first, is the indoctrination of a sizable portion of the US military in the religion of Christianity, a very warlike, venomous, and all-encompassing version of that religion, one that in an extremely illogical doctrinal development, joins ultra Zionist Jews with affected Christians in painting the war with Iran as a “scheduled event” and the scheduler is God.”

Was the war on Iran launched on a quasi-theological premise, that the destruction of Israel’s enemies would bring about the fire of Armageddon, and with it, the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? The United States Constitution, which mandates a separation of Church and State, has been breached, if so.

A higher course of action than that available in the “flatland “of international geopolitics is required. It is embodied in the circulation of a recently-issued letter by Schiller Institute Chairwoman Helga Zepp-LaRouche to Pope Leo XIV. That letter calls on the Pope and other religious leaders to act in the manner of the scientist, statesman, and Christian humanist Nicholas of Cusa. In 1453, the year that Constantinople was attacked and occupied by Ottoman forces, Cusa wrote the dialogue “De Pace Fidei.” He envisioned an assembly of religious representatives from every faith and nation, who would discover, beneath their differences, their common commitment to Reason. As opposed to today’s Christian Zionism, and other millenarian beliefs, largely manufactured in a Babylonian-style “god-building“ product by British-intelligence, sometimes referred to as “Canaanite Reconstructionism,” Nicholas of Cusa’s works glorify the continued existence, not extinction, of humanity as an expression of a loving Creator, who made Man in His Own Living Image. That is the bedrock principle, also identified in the American Declaration of Independence which provides the only basis by means of which the present entry into world war can be reversed.

The Fallout from Reporting on White Nationalism in Canada

 

Journalist Rachel Gilmore published an investigation in The Tyee. The men she unmasked showed up to intimidate her in person.

The extent of Canada’s problem with far-right extremism stared me in the face on an ordinary Wednesday night.

I turned to leave a small music venue where my boyfriend had just wrapped up performing. That’s when I saw two men were standing between me and the exit, staring intensely.

I recognized them: they were Shawn Beauvais-MacDonald and Giulio Zardo, two members of the white nationalist active club that I had just unmasked in a piece published with The Tyee the day before. In social media posts, Beauvais-MacDonald has openly called himself a Nazi. He’s loud and proud about his hateful views, regularly posting videos from public places in T-shirts adorned with images of Adolf Hitler and other Nazi-era imagery.

In the photos I took of Beauvais-MacDonald that night, you can see that he’s wearing a pin with the Totenkopf skull — a symbol associated with neo-Nazis.

Active clubs are a growing problem in Canada.

These groups of white nationalists “focus on physical recruitment and combat training in preparation for eventual violent confrontation,” according to an internal government report, first reported by CBC News. The Tyee has also obtained a copy of this Public Safety Canada report.

“Compared to other countries, Canada appears to have a disproportionate number of Active Clubs, with more than 30 of the nearly 200 known global chapters existing in Canada,” the report notes.

Beauvais-MacDonald and Zardo are members of the Frontenac Active Club, a group that Montréal Antifasciste has done essential and extensive research on to expose in their home city.  (more...)
