On April 29, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Jay Clayton and Administrator of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Terrance C. Cole unsealed bombshell charges of drug trafficking against the sitting governor of Mexico’s state of Sinaloa Rubén Rocha Moya, along with nine other significant Mexican political figures and officials. Along with the indictment, the U.S. requested that those indicted be arrested for the purpose of extradition to the U.S. to face charges, Governor Rocha among them, and the “word” is out that more indictments of state governors are in the works.

Ten days before, a scandal broke out in Mexico when two CIA agents died in a car accident in the northern state of Chihuahua while returning with Mexican officials from a raid on clandestine methamphetamine labs. President Claudia Sheinbaum has emphatically rejected President Donald Trump’s repeated overtures pressing that U.S. military and police forces be given permission to operate in Mexico, purportedly to fight drugs; Sheinbaum has responded by asserting Mexico’s sovereignty and ability to combat drugs nationally. It turned out that the governor of Chihuahua, of the opposition PAN party, had secretly allowed the CIA to operate in that state, in direct violation of Mexico’s well-known strict laws against foreign citizens participating in law enforcement, public security, or military activities within Mexico.

Now Sheinbaum finds herself at the center of an orchestrated destabilization designed to either bring her totally to heel, or topple her government: If she refuses to extradite Rocha and continues to deny Americans permission to operate freely inside the country, she will be denounced for being allied to drug interests; if she folds and grants everything Trump is demanding, Mexico’s sovereignty is gone—along with control of its significant oil industry and other valuable raw materials.  (more...)

An independent journalist with a record of leaked-FBI scoops has documented that the Vatican is being targeted by US intelligence services.

Ken Klippenstein has published a report confirming that U.S. intelligence agencies have, for years, been spying on the Vatican — and that President Donald Trump’s April 12 broadside against Pope Leo XIV has now turned that surveillance into an operational priority.

According to Klippenstein’s reporting, when Trump declared Leo “terrible for foreign policy,” “the U.S. intelligence community took the president’s remarks as a directive to prioritize spying on the Vatican.”

The CIA, he writes, “has human spies working inside the Holy See bureaucracy.” The NSA and CIA seek to intercept Vatican telecommunications, emails, and texts. The State Department circulates a daily Vatican news digest. The U.S. military maintains a distinct linguistic capability code — “QLE” — for Ecclesiastical Latin.

Klippenstein’s record makes the report difficult to dismiss.

He left The Intercept in April 2024 to build one of the most influential independent newsrooms in American journalism, with more than 200,000 subscribers and a deep bench of national security sources.

His prior reporting includes the leaked FBI report admitting the Bureau had “no intelligence indicating Antifa involvement” in the May 2020 George Floyd protests, the hacked JD Vance opposition dossier the corporate press refused to publish in September 2024, and a steady stream of disclosures about the U.S. national security state that no one else is consistently breaking.

When he writes that “sources tell me” the United States has been spying on the Vatican “for years,” the sentence carries the weight of a journalist whose bombshells routinely survive scrutiny.

The trigger for the new prioritization is now part of the public record. On April 12, in a Truth Social post I covered at the time, Trump called Leo “WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy,” citing the pope’s criticism of the Iran war.

Is Iran the 'Leading State Sponsor of Terrorism?'

 

In an attempt to justify and garner popular support for the American-Israeli war on Iran, the Trump administration is pressuring its allied nations to join the US in designating Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps as the world’s greatest sponsor of state terrorism. The administration points to Iran’s participation in the Axis of Resistance, which includes Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Palestine and Ansar Allah in Yemen, as evidence for its position. This raises the question of whether Iran, by supporting proxy organizations, is doing anything differently from what US intelligence agencies have done for many decades.

To answer this question, Chris Hedges speaks with John Kiriakou, a former CIA analyst and counterterrorism operations officer who worked in West Asia. Kiriakou is known for blowing the whistle on the CIA’s torture program, for which he was the sixth person convicted under the Espionage Act. In this interview, Kiriakou makes the distinction between organizations that carry out terrorism and those that are fighting for national liberation from foreign oppressors.

Kiriakou explains that throughout recent history, many countries or organizations backed by the United States have engaged in terrorist acts, and that the US has used the terrorist designation “as a cudgel against countries that we don’t like or whose policies we disagree with,” making the designation lose its meaning.

Hedges and Kiriakou discuss US support for terrorists, including the State of Israel, which Kiriakou calls “an extreme example” of an entity that uses violence, and the Mojahedin-e-Khalq (MEK), a “cult” co-founded by Maryam Rahjavi, an Iranian who opposes the Islamic Republic of Iran and who has cultivated strong ties with both Democrats and Republicans in the US.

They conclude the interview with an analysis of the current US-Israel war on Iran and how it plays a part in Israel’s goal to create chaos in the region. Kiriakou laments that the US has missed many opportunities to partner with Iran in curbing terrorism and narcotics production. He warns that the US’ aggression against Iran will likely result in unintended blowback.

Cyber Group Handala Says IranWire Has Been Hacked

 

The cyber group “Handala” announced it has hacked and taken control of IranWire, a media outlet it described as “anti-Iranian.”

In a statement, the group said it carried out what it called a “complex and targeted operation” and successfully gained full access to IranWire, which it said operates under the direct guidance and support of the CIA.

Handala added that a large volume of documents—including communications, full lists of collaborators and infiltrators, and highly sensitive data—has been extracted and securely encrypted, with plans to transfer it to the intelligence agencies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The group further stated that “from this moment onward, there is no safe space for betrayal or espionage,” adding that all individuals who had any cooperation or communication with the outlet in past years, or who transferred photos, videos, or coordinates to foreign services, have been identified and are now under continuous surveillance by what it called the “Axis of Resistance.”

It warned that any attempt to delete data or sever connections would be ineffective, saying its cyber network has penetrated multiple layers of communication systems and infrastructure, allowing all suspicious activity to be rapidly detected and recorded.  (more...)

“Deep State” Researcher Mae Brussell Was a Visionary Who Foresaw the Rise of Fascism in America

 

Dubbed the “Queen of Conspiracy” and a “modern Sherlock Holmes,” Mae Brussell (1922-1988), the daughter of a prominent Los Angeles rabbi and a Beverly Hills housewife, became one of the 20th century’s foremost researchers of the so-called “deep state.”

The latter concept implies a hidden aspect of the U.S. government dominated by the CIA and FBI working on behalf of the interests of large corporations, which carries out illegal activities with impunity.

Reading some ten newspapers a day, along with hundreds of books on assassination and espionage, Brussell was a pioneer researcher into the John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr., assassinations.

She was also way ahead of her time in recognizing the hidden CIA involvement in Watergate, the Jonestown massacre, Charles Manson killings, Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA), and murder of John Lennon among other “deep-state” crimes.

Before CIA whistleblower Philip Agee was writing on the topic, Brussell understood the CIA to be an instrument of a plutocratic elite intent on stamping out progressive movements and anyone who threatened their authority.

The Kennedy assassination, in her assessment, provided a “blueprint of espionage work for any operation.”

Brussell stated that a “linear connection” existed “between [John] Kennedy’s assassination and Bobby Kennedy’s and the incident at Chappaquiddick (involving Senator Ted Kennedy) and Martin Luther King and [the attempted assassination of 1972 presidential candidate George C.] Wallace. It wasn’t just planned for Dallas; it wasn’t just that they didn’t want JFK because of the Bay of Pigs invasion.”

Even as right-wing a figure as Richard Nixon became the target of the “deep state” in the Watergate coup because some of his policies were too liberal.

Considering Nixon to be the “frontman” for a criminal cabal that seized control of the U.S. government in the wake of the JFK assassination, Brussell depicted him as a key figure in Operation Paperclip, under which the CIA recruited Nazis after World War II.

The CIA’s adoption of Nazi methods was evident in the cultivation of germ weapons at its biological weapons laboratory at Fort Detrick, Maryland, and its carrying out of medical and psychiatric experimentation on unwitting subjects under Operation MK-ULTRA, where CIA psychiatrists used hypnosis to turn people into zombies that could be programmed to commit political murders.[5]

Additionally, Brussell reported on the CIA’s proclivity to stir revolts, overthrow governments, and support fascist coups like in Greece in 1967 and Chile in 1973, and its development of a wide range of high-tech assassination weapons, including guns disguised as loudspeakers and vapors that could erase human memory.  (more...)

Crush the Davos Crazies! For Humans, There Are No Limits to Growth!

 

The intellectual fraud presented at the billionaires’ summit in Davos, Switzerland poses a burning question: Where were the adults? While Donald Trump’s speech portending a U.S. takeover of Greenland for reasons of “national security,” and “securing American dominance” through a Golden Dome project, took media center stage, the weirdest—and most acclaimed—bloviation was delivered by the Bank of England, through the mouth of its favorite circus clown, Mark “The Barker” Carney.

Trump’s fantasy “Golden Dome” was usefully demolished by leading nuclear weapons expert Dr. Ted Postol, Professor Emeritus of Science, Technology, and National Security Policy at MIT. At the 138th meeting of the International Peace Coalition, Postol demonstrated, with a series of charts and graphics, that at least 1,200 satellites would be required to track and neutralize one ICBM missile, fired from anywhere in the world. This means that if one wishes to knock out 100 missiles simultaneously—a far more realistic scenario—it would require 120,000 satellites to be built!

This makes Trump’s Golden Dome project a physical impossibility. Russia’s new nuclear capabilities, implied by its deployment of the hypersonic Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile, or its Poseidon unmanned underwater drone, far exceed any of the nuclear capabilities of the West. “Golden Dome,” however, rather than being “defensive,” may be a cover for continuing a move toward the placement of offensive thermonuclear capabilities, including in space, leading to a new arms race. That path will likely be the shortest to thermonuclear disaster.

Davos’ signature psychedelic moment, however, was Mark Carney, who called for “more open dialogue” within a non-existent “international rules-based order” which he admits was a fraud from the beginning! Many people, though not everyone, have been bamboozled by the Bank of England’s Trotsky impersonator. Carney, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in August of 2019, called for a “bankers spring” — financial regime change by the global central bankers, to replace sovereign credit with an international synthetic currency to replace the dollar. Carney, the former head of the Bank of England, the financial vulture who champions a Malthusian “Green New Deal” designed to shackle energy-poor nations, use their resources, and depopulate them, received a standing ovation from the filthy rich at Davos, as he quoted Václav Havel about “the power of the powerless.”

The Davos crazies must be crushed. Lyndon LaRouche’s Four Economic Laws—return to Franklin Roosevelt’s Glass-Steagall, separating speculative from human banking, saving homes, pensions and jobs; the creation of national banks that issue credit for productive investment to build independent, full-set national economies; and crash science-driver programs for energy-intensive new frontier technologies, such as thermonuclear fusion, are what needs to be implemented as the alternative. Actions by independent candidacies in the United States that stand up for these policies—for what American patriot Tom Paine called “Common Sense”—are exactly what the world, as well as the American people, want to hear in this 250th year of the United States of America’s birth.

James Angleton: JFK Assassination Architect?

 

Newly-declassified files show President John F Kennedy’s alleged assassin Lee Harvey Oswald was monitored for years by James Angleton, the CIA’s infamous veteran counterintelligence chief, right up until the President’s death. In this context, freshly-released FBI documents indicating Oswald was removed from Bureau watchlists six weeks before Kennedy’s assassination at the express direction of Angleton’s staff, despite being judged a high security risk, take on a distinctly disquieting character. Was Oswald a target of, or participant in, Angleton’s illegal domestic espionage operations?

In June 1953, a memo was circulated among senior FBI officials, its subject line: “Central Intelligence Agency - information received from James Angleton”. It documents how the CIA’s counterintelligence chief had over the past year “been very cooperative and…volunteered voluminous information of interest to Bureau.” Such was the vast and sensitive intelligence yield, it was considered necessary to establish dedicated, strict internal protocols for handling and storing material provided by Angleton to the FBI.

This was “particularly” vital in respect of information Angleton received and passed on to the Bureau from Mossad, his “primary source” of intelligence among “numerous foreign sources and channels” he maintained worldwide. The memo went on to outline how Angleton handled “special cases of a various nature”, and was “usually given considerable freedom and leeway in directing the operations of his unit.” Angleton was “responsible only” to the CIA’s Director, and his staff were “responsible only to him.”

The memo noted approvingly how “much of the information” provided by Angleton “consists of the actual reports” he received from his sources. This was of significant advantage to the FBI, as the agency was able to “better evaluate the information instead of waiting for the delay and processing through normal channels in the CIA.” Angleton also “frequently” kept the Bureau apprised of Agency activities overseas, “which the CIA sometimes camouflages with some of its cloak and dagger techniques.”  (more...)

The Case of Otto Skorzeny

 

In The Skorzeny Papers, the author reveals the details of the post-World War II activities of former SS Commando Otto Skorzeny. Considered by British and American Allied forces as “the most dangerous man in Europe,” Skorzeny planned and led numerous daring missions throughout the war. The story in this book was extracted by Major Ganis from Skorzeny’s personal papers. But Skorzeny’s network had a greater point of destiny in November 1963, when it was utilized to carry out the most tragic mission in history.

This story would have been lost had Skorzeny not kept meticulous records of his businesses and contacts, which were fronts for US covert activity. In the end, The Skorzeny Papers reveal the intriguing web of secret organizations and people linked to the events culminating in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

How Intelligence, Politics, and Foreign Interests Shaped America’s Religious Movements

 

Christianity is back at the centre of American life, but not necessarily in the way most believers imagine. Churches are fuller, Christian language saturates politics, and faith-based identity has become a mobilising force once again. Yet beneath this revival lies a more unsettling reality: for decades, U.S. government agencies have treated religion not as sacred ground, but as strategic terrain.

This is not theory. During the Cold War, the U.S. State Department and intelligence agencies, most notably the CIA, recognised theology, doctrine, and religious institutions as instruments of influence. Faith was studied, guided, and at times quietly reshaped to serve geopolitical aims. The goal was rarely to destroy belief outright; rather, it was to domesticate it, align it, and render it strategically useful.

Initiatives like the Doctrinal Warfare Program illustrate the scale of this engagement. Churches with mass followings, moral authority, and transnational reach were not simply tolerated; they were targeted for influence. Orthodox congregations in the U.S. and abroad were monitored to ensure alignment with Western interests. Catholic seminaries became conduits for doctrinal shaping, funding networks, and leadership development favourable to U.S. objectives. Even Protestant and Evangelical movements, decentralised and spontaneous, were quietly steered through cultural engagement, philanthropic networks, and selective amplification of certain voices.

Sincere people seeking truth, purpose, and transcendence found themselves caught in influence systems they neither designed nor understood. Their worship, community, and faith became tools in a broader psychological and cultural battle they never consented to.

What does a blanked out memorial in Ottawa tell us about the counter revolutions of 1989?

In this special edition of the ‘Decline & Fall’ show we look at the Canadian government had to remove the names form a ‘Victims of Communism’ memorial in Ottawa after they all turned out to be fascists. We move from there to look at the counter revolutions of 1989 in Eastern Europe, why these weren’t revolutions at all and should properly be seen as the first ‘color revolutions’.

We also look at the Gorbachevites role in the murder of Nicolae Ceaucescu and how Romania has been destroyed by the restoration of capitalism. We conclude by asking just who the “victims of communism” actually are.
