Sex-ed curriculum changes protested by thousands at Queen's Park -- Even the CBC takes notice? Golly!


An estimated 2,000 people gathered on the front lawn of the Ontario legislature on Tuesday morning to protest the Liberal government's proposed changes to the sex education curriculum.

The protesters are holding signs calling the revised curriculum irresponsible and complaining parents were not properly consulted on the changes.

Monte McNaughton and Jack MacLaren, both Progressive Conservative MPPs, were the only two members of the legislature to speak at the protest.

New Canadians, including Zainab Alio, were among the protesters.

Alio, who has three children attending elementary school in Toronto, told CBC News that she felt the new curriculum was "too graphic."

"I should be the one to teach my kids about sex, not anyone else," she said.  (more...)
