The Catholic Church has taken some hits on the marriage front legally – but Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone says the task remains the same now as it was before the U.S. Supreme Court’s twin marriage rulings in June.
“Educating our people, especially our young people,” about human sexuality and marriage is the church’s main task for their happiness and for the good of society, the archbishop said Oct. 10. “Really, it’s all about formation” in high schools, in religious education classes, as well as of parents and teachers, and in the seminary and in clergy education, he said.
