The Canadian military’s move is drawing criticism for prioritizing a DEI agenda during active conflicts

The Canadian Armed Forces has deployed “gender advisors” to such conflict zones as Ukraine and Haiti, a recent internal report has revealed.

The deployments were part of the Department of National Defence’s Military Cooperation Program, which primarily provides advice and assistance to non-NATO countries. According to the 2024 report, the initiative has helped train nearly 2,000 military personnel from 55 countries. It has focused on the “integration of women and gender perspectives in the armed forces.”

“Gender Advisors and Gender Focal Points,” both full- and part-time roles, are deployed in all CAF international operations to help “Commanders in the application of GBA+ and gender perspectives” institutionally and operationally.

The abbreviation stands for Gender-Based Analysis Plus - a commitment introduced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all government departments.

“In 2023, notable opportunities to apply Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA Plus) and intersectional perspectives to operational support occurred in Poland, Ukraine, Haiti, and Latvia,” the report details.

In Poland, Canadian gender advisors and gender focal points are said to have connected with “local and Ukraine-based non-governmental organizations and interested parties” among other activities.  (more...)

Pinkwashing explained: How Israel leverages gay rights to put a ‘progressive veneer atop atrocity’

 

A long-time source of division at Pride movements around the world has led to parade shut-downs and demonstrations, most recently in Toronto

Last November, Israel’s official social media accounts shared a photo of a smiling Israeli soldier proudly holding a rainbow flag amid the rubble in Gaza, where over 10,000 Palestinians – mostly women and children – had been killed in the weeks following October 7.

Written upon the multi-coloured flag – an iconic, decades-old symbol of LGBTQ+ pride – in English, Arabic and Hebrew, were the words “In The Name Of Love.”

The image quickly went viral. The soldier, a 31-year-old gay man, explained to the media that the Israeli military was “the only army in the Middle East that protects democratic values… it is the only army that allows LGBT people the freedom to be who they are, and therefore I fully believe in our goal.”

Meanwhile, on Instagram, Israel’s account described the image as an “attempt to raise the first pride flag in Gaza as a call for peace and freedom.” 

But for many LGBTQ+ activists, and those struggling for Palestinian liberation, the incident represented an almost perfect example of “pinkwashing” – a term that refers to a state or organization’s attempts to use LGBTQ+ rights and symbols to distract or deflect attention from its harmful practices.  (more...)

The embarrassing state of the Canadian military

 

Just over 100 years ago, Canadian soldiers were the most feared troops on the battlefield. Our 'shock troops' struck fear into the enemy, whereas today, our enemies can't stop laughing at us.

The Canadian Armed Forces are in the midst of an attrition crisis  – too many troops are leaving and nobody is signing up. An unconstitutional vaccine mandate forced on the ranks resulted in thousands of patriotic Canadians leaving the force making matters worse. Further, Canada's military is chronically under funded, resulting in embarrassing stories of Canadian troops having to purchase their own gear while deployed.

The treatment of James Topp, a man who marched across Canada in 2022 in protest of Canada's vaccine mandates, is a perfect representation of the embarrassing and sad state of Canada's once feared military. Topp, a man who gave hope to millions of Canadian during his March for Freedom is learning his fate in a court martial sentencing hearing because he dared to condemn Canada's authoritarian mandates while wearing his uniform.

A mass nationwide protest against gender ideology took place throughout Canada on Wednesday. The organizers – a group of Muslim parents who have had enough of the radical gender ideology craze – named the coordinated protest the ‘1 Million March For Children.’

Harrison Faulkner was on the ground at the Toronto protest to interview attendees and make sure both sides of the story were told. As thousands gathered to oppose gender ideology and indoctrination in schools, an equally large number of counter protesters showed up to reject what they called a gathering of “ultra-conservatives” and “transphobes.”
