Simon William Gares, 32, is wanted for threatening death and mischief under $5,000. |
And Toronto Police are appealing to the public for help tracking down the 32-year-old man.
“Simon William Gares … is wanted for threatening death and mischief under ($5,000),” police said in a public safety alert issued Wednesday. “He has also made non-specific threats related to the safety of children attending elementary schools.”
Few other details were immediately released.
However, the alert was issued by a copper in 53 Division, which encompasses mid-town Toronto up to Lawrence Ave. as well as Forest Hill to the west, Thorncliffe Park to the east and Rosedale to the south.
At least one area elementary school has issued a warning about the wanted man.
Bedford Park Public School on Ranleigh Ave., northwest of Yonge St. and Lawrence Ave., forwarded the Toronto Police alert to parents Wednesday.
Police claim Gares is believed to be “violent and dangerous.”
“If you see him, do not attempt to interact with him,” police warn. “Call 911 immediately.”
Gares is described as white, 5-foot-11, with a medium build and short brown hair. He was last seen unshaven and wearing black, baggy jeans with a white symbol on the pockets, a black polar fleece jacket and sunglasses.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Gares is urged to call police at 416-808-5300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477). (more...)
