The U.S. is starting talks on a new military aid deal for Israel as support for the country hits an all-time low. Israel’s supporters are feeling the pressure and pushing for cosmetic changes, but don’t fall for it. We need a full arms embargo

Israel’s standing among the U.S. public is at an all-time low after Americans have witnessed two- and-one-half years of live-streamed Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, fueled by tens of billions of dollars of U.S. taxpayer-provided weapons and diplomatic cover. 

Last August, a Quinnipiac poll found that 60 percent of all Americans, including 75 percent of Democrats and 66 percent of independents, opposed U.S. military funding for Israel while only 32 percent supported it.  

Even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seems to recognize the unpopularity of asking U.S. taxpayers to further subsidize weapons to Israel. In an interview with 60 Minutes earlier this month, Netanyahu suggested transitioning from “aid” to a “partnership.”

This was not a surprise. Netanyahu had announced earlier this year that he wanted to “taper off” formal U.S. taxpayer-funded weapons, known as Foreign Military Financing (FMF), to Israel over the next decade, in favor of increased co-production and co-development of weapons between Israeli and U.S. weapons manufacturers. This proposal garnered the backing of pro-Israel stalwart Sen. Lindsey Graham and aligns with proposals for strengthening the U.S.-Israeli relationship put forward by The Heritage Foundation and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), two pro-Trump think tanks with a hard-edged anti-Palestinian animus and clear pro-Israel agendas.

However, American taxpayers should be aware of the bait-and-switch nature of these proposals, especially as the U.S. and Israel now enter into negotiations for a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will outline the parameters of the bilateral military relationship over the next decade.  (more...)

Europe’s new strategy to hide the rot in Israeli society is to scapegoat Itamar Ben-Gvir

 

European governments are finally being forced to condemn Israel as its crimes have become impossible to ignore. But they are scapegoating National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir rather than confronting the system he represents.

The brutal treatment of activists aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla for Gaza by Israeli forces during their detention in international waters last week triggered a wave of international condemnation, including from many European and other Western countries.

Italy, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Poland, and Greece summoned Israeli ambassadors or envoys to condemn the treatment of activists detained during the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla. The UK said it was “appalled” by the images of the activists’ detentions. These reactions, however, centered around one figure: Israel’s National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, who had posted a video of himself overseeing and encouraging the mistreatment of the activists.

The focus on Ben-Gvir was so singular that France’s foreign minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, included in his condemnation post on X a claim that other Israeli officials had rejected Ben-Gvir’s actions.

That much is true: across the Israeli political spectrum, Ben-Gvir became the convenient scapegoat to draw attention away from the entirety of Israeli politics, which differs very little from Ben-Gvir when it comes to the treatment of Palestinians. But the outrage in Israel wasn’t at the treatment itself, but rather the fact that Ben-Gvir revealed it to the world, causing an international embarrassment. The difference is that Ben-Gvir doesn’t care about the PR problem he’s created, while other Israeli officials do.  (more...)

The Rise of the Global South

 

The war on Iran has not only ended in a humiliating defeat for the United States, but resulted in a dramatic shift in the balance of power in the Middle East and the Global South.

The humiliating defeat of Israel and the United States in their war on Iran, along with the savagery of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, are ushering in a new world order. This order is one where voices of reason and stability emanate not from the West — which spent tens of billions of dollars sustaining Israel’s genocide — but from the Global South, including China. It is an order where alliances are being rapidly reconfigured to protect countries from a rogue American state that lashes out like a wounded beast, as it spirals toward terminal decline.

The end of the U.S. Empire, led by an impetuous and clueless Donald Trump, is irreversible. The U.S. has lost its sixth war in the Middle East in 25 years. Iran’s power has been enhanced not only because it — along with Oman — controls the Strait of Hormuz — where roughly 25 percent of the world’s seaborne oil and 20 percent of the world’s seaborne liquified natural gas pass through — but because it has delivered a stark message, with its drones and missiles, to U.S. allies and bases in the region, while sending the global economy into a tailspin.

Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — who reportedly lured Trump into the war with Alice-in-Wonderland visions of easy regime change in Iran following the decapitation strikes against the country on February 28, 2026, which included the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other political and military figures, along with 168 school children and their teachers — may strike Iran again. They are desperate. But a renewed bombing of Iran will not work. Iran’s mosaic defense strategy ensures all political and military commanders are easily replaced.

Iran can strangle the world economy by closing the Strait of Hormuz. It can accelerate the pain by getting its Yemeni allies — Ansar Allah — to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea, just as they did to Israel-bound ships when defending Palestinians after October 7. This could result in a complete blockade. Saudi Arabia, with the Bab el-Mandeb Strait open, is able to bypass the Strait of Hormuz and export five million barrels a day through its pipeline to tankers in the Red Sea port of Yanbu.

If a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is not reached soon, the global economy will crash, perhaps within weeks. The U.S. and its allies, such as Japan, have released some of their extensive strategic oil reserves, however they will not be able to cushion markets indefinitely. Stockpiles in America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve are near their lowest in more than 40 years. Once these reserves are depleted, the price of fuel will skyrocket. If a barrel of oil shoots up to $200, the price at the pump could climb as high as $10 per gallon. This, coupled with shortages of other petroleum-based products, along with nitrogen fertilizer, aluminum, and helium — an indispensable element in the production of MRI machines and semiconductors — are already shutting down vital industries and driving up prices on basic commodities.  (more...)

Head of World Holocaust Remembrance Center Dani Dayan added to Kiev's 'kill list'

 

The head of the World Holocaust Remembrance Center has been added to the 'Mirotvorets' list. The online catalog targets people accused of being enemies of Kiev, and publishes their personal information, opening them up to attack.

It accuses Yad Vashem's chairman of 'inciting hatred between Israel and Ukraine...spreading Russian-fascist propaganda...and falsifying information about historical figures in Ukraine'.

In clearer terms, Dani Dayan condemned Kiev's choice to rebury and honor Andrey Melnik, a notorious World War 2 collaborator of Nazi Germany.

Why is the US spending more than half a billion dollars on a facility near Montreal?

 

The US Army is gearing up for a massive $682 million upgrade to the General Dynamics facility in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. The upgrade is set to increase production capacity from 6 to 16 million pounds of munitions and ordnance. This facility is of great importance as it is the sole supplier of the M31A2 propellant used in 155mm artillery ammunition. Investigations have revealed this propellant to have been actively used in Gaza by Israel.

Canada Exported $14.6 Million Of Military Goods To Israel In 2025

 

A total of 50 military export permits were utilized to sell goods to Israel in 2025.

Canada exported $14.6 million worth of military goods directly to Israel last year, according to a report published today by Global Affairs Canada.

A total of 50 military export permits were utilized to sell goods to Israel in 2025, the report says.

The military goods were shipped despite the Liberal government stating that it paused approvals of some new military export permits on January 8, 2024 and suspending dozens of existing permits for goods that it believed could be used in Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Under the Export and Import Permits Act, the Minister of Foreign Affairs is legally obliged not to authorize military export permits if there is a substantial risk the goods could be used to commit or facilitate serious violations of international humanitarian or human rights law.

The report states that two new military export permits to Israel were issued in 2025.

The Maple revealed last year that these permits were for parts related to Israel’s Iron Dome missile system, which allows Israel to inflict massive civilian casualties at a scale that dwarfs its own losses. The two permits were valued at $37.2 million.  (more...)

Ukraine Is Now Indisputably An Anti-Polish State

 

What Zelensky just did is no different than if Germany gave Governor-General of the World War II-era “General Government” Hans Frank a hero’s burial in Berlin and then named an elite unit after him.

Zelensky’s reburial of former “Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists’” (OUN) leader Andrey Melnik in Kiev with honors and renaming of an elite unit as the “Heroes of the ‘Ukrainian Insurgent Army’ (UPA)”, the OUN’s armed wing, proves that Ukraine is now indisputably an anti-Polish state. As a reminder, both Melnik’s and Stepan Bandera’s OUN factions carried out the UPA’s Volhynia Genocide, which killed over 100,000 Poles. Many of them were women and children who were murdered in very grisly ways.

Poland already spent 4.91% of its GDP on Ukraine, mostly through support of its over one-million refugees that are still living in the country, and donated its entire stockpile to it. Many Poles also donated to charities helping Ukrainian refugees and some even housed them too. All of this was done without any questions asked and with no strings attached in solidarity with Ukraine due to the Polish State’s and many Poles’ intense dislike of Russia for historical reasons beyond the scope of this analysis to detail.

Ukraine was already becoming an anti-Polish state by then, however, as Polish activist Małgorzata Zych wrote in a recent tweet: “These are not Zelensky’s excesses but the consequence of the law adopted in 2015 on the legal status and commemoration of the memory of fighters for Ukraine’s independence in the 20th century, which glorifies criminals from the OUN and UPA, something that has never elicited a negative reaction from the Polish government and which is hidden from the Polish public.”

The public can thus be forgiven for extending such support to Ukrainians, but the government can’t since it knew about this but still aided Ukraine with no political strings attached. As co-founder of Poland’s populist-nationalist opposition party Confederation Krzysztof Bosak said, “Ukraine continues to glorify the perpetrators of genocide and the instigators of unimaginable crimes. The PiS and PO governments slept through the only period in which it was realistically possible to enforce a change in this policy.”  (more...)
