Revisiting Germany

Germany unification sacrifice militarization sovereignty NATO Nazi Russophobia fascism Potsdam cold war Ukraine Kosovo lawlessness

For over a century and a half ‘The German Question’ has been hotly debated. During that time Germany was at the center of two world wars and the Cold War. Now it appears Berlin is abandoning its post-Hitler policy of pacifism and non-intervention. And again, Russia is the enemy.

CrossTalking with Matthew Ehret, Ralph T. Niemeyer, and Stevan Gajic.

Neo-Nazi, antisemitic homeschooling network unmasked in Ohio

'We are so deeply invested into making sure that our child becomes a wonderful Nazi,' the woman alleged to be behind the network said on a neo-Nazi podcast

Officials in the U.S. state of Ohio are investigating a homeschooling network disseminating Nazi propaganda, including warning parents against public education "ran by Zionist scum” and “Jewish media content.”

The so-called "Dissident-Homeschool Channel" is circulating antisemitic messaging to some 2,600 subscribers on the Telegram messaging app, including lesson plans on various subjects. One template contrasts Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee (a “grand role model for young, white men”) to Martin Luther King Jr. (“the antithesis of our civilization and our people”); another proposes to teach children to say “Sieg Heil” in class.

Media reports alleged that a husband and wife duo Logan and Katja Lawrence of Upper Sandusky, Ohio who go by the online name The Saxton, are behind the shocking messages.

“We are so deeply invested into making sure that [our] child becomes a wonderful Nazi,” a woman identifying as “Mrs. Saxon” recently said on the neo-Nazi podcast “Achtung Amerikaner.”  (more...)

Shelling out $70+ billion for a failing warplane: A dubious Canadian project

Canada military warplane waste protests boondoggle technology mismanagement profiteering conflict of interest unaccountability unsuitability corruption unaffordability

On January 9, 2023, three Canadian government ministers announced the signing of an agreement between Canada and the United States (US) government, Lockheed Martin and Pratt & Whitney for the acquisition of F-35 fighter jets for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Those ministers were: Helena Jaczek, Minister of Public Services and Procurement, and Anita Anand, Minister of National Defence, François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry.

This is the largest RCAF purchase in the past 30 years, with the purchase of 88 F-35 fighter jets for an initial price tag of $19 billion CAD, though critics warn that the cost will shoot up to $70 billion CAD through all stages of the acquisition. Questions about the cost to the public as well as those about the technical weaknesses of these jets has led to grassroots protests in Canada.

The case of the F-35 fighter jet exposes the senselessness of arms development and the influence of arms producers over the political leaders of the US and its imperialist allies these days. The F-35 is neither affordable nor practical, as it is part of the Canadian state’s objective of filling the pockets of war industry profiteers.

The F-35 is described as a fifth generation (5G) high tech, primary jet fighter for the US by 2070. The seeds of its inception were sown in the 90s (dubbed “Lightening II”; the first test flight of a prototype happened in 2006. There are three models: the F-35A for the US Air Force to replace the A-10 and F-16, which was deemed ready for use in 2016; the F-35B with vertical landing capacity for the US Marines to replace Harriers, which was deemed ready in 2015; and the F -35C to replace the carrier aircraft F-18 for the US Navy and US Marines, which was deemed ready by 2018.

The US F-35 Program selected Lockheed Martin manufacture the jet, who has partnered with Northrop Grumman and BAE systems. It demands that NATO partners acquire F-35s. NATO is a creation of Lockheed Martin, who likes the manufacturing of wars to increase production and sales of its war technology.  (more...)

Brazil Lula Bolsonaro military fascism coup dictatorship progress election Dilma workers development infrastructure

Thanks to Bolsonaro’s own shortcomings and a loyal political structure, president Lula Da Silva now has a somewhat unexpected opportunity to act, with significant political capital on his side. However, even in defeat, the Brazilian right-wing is a force to be reckoned with. The Grayzone spoke to renowned authors and activists Frei Betto and Emir Sader about Brazil's hyper-polarized political environment, and what it means for Lula's ability to govern.

What Happened to German Sovereignty?

Anglo-American empire Germany social control NATO servility assassinations impotence paralysis Brazil

In her January 14 presentation to a Schiller Institute (SI) conference, Helga Zepp-LaRouche reviewed the history of the strategy of tension against Germany, directed by an International Assassination Bureau.  This has been a continuous feature of a geopolitical policy of containment against Germany, which led to World War I.  Attempts to break out of this led to the assassination of leading German officials, from Rathenau, the architect of the Rapallo Treaty

with the USSR in 1922, to a series of assassinations from 1977 to 1991.  To avoid further tragedy, it is long overdue that the lessons from this history be learned, and a new strategic and development architecture replace the present deadly Unipolar Order.

Portugal just entered WW3 and made a HUGE mistake

Iberia Portugal tanks Ukraine Russia WWIII NATO war crimes ethnic cleansing genocide imperialism aggression jingoism

Portugal just entered WW3 with the dumbest move imaginable sending 1970's era Leopard tanks to Ukraine. Putin says that any escalation by NATO countries would open them up to retaliation by Russia. Portugal famously kept its nose out of WW2 to the best of its ability. Now it appears beautiful and peaceful Portugal has a death wish on its hands by kow towing to U.S. and NATO interests. Portugal needs to tell the U.S. and the E.U. to keep their war away from Iberia.

Insubordinate Military Points to Dangers of Fascist Coup in Brazil

Newly elected President Luíz Inácio Lula da Silva remains in hotel accommodation in Brasília, still unable to reside in the Alvorada Palace due to material damage and security concerns.

On the 21st of January, Brazilian president, Luíz Inácio Lula da Silva, sacked general Júlio César de Arruda as head of the armed forces. Tomás Miguel Ribeiro Paiva, military commander of the country’s southeast region, will assume the post. The move, according to an unnamed source in Brazil’s military high command, caused “disaffection” within the company.

Arruda assumed head of the military on the 30th of December last year, just two days before the presidential swearing-in ceremony and the start of Lula’s third term in office. However, the military’s inaction on January 8th, when thousands of supporters of former Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, stormed the Three Powers Plaza in Brasilia, ransacking the main buildings housing the country’s executive, legislative, and judicial branches, meant Arruda could not be trusted.

Four days before Lula sacked Arruda, on January 17th, Brazil’s new government relieved 40 military officials of their duties as members of the Administrative Coordination team at Alvorada Palace, the official presidential residence.

Less than one month into his third term as head of state, Lula has repeatedly expressed reservations and a lack of trust among segments within the country’s military. “I’m waiting for the dust to settle,” he told journalists, after which he wants to “view all of the recordings captured inside the Supreme Court, inside the palace. Many security agents were complicit. Many PMs [military police] were complicit. Many from the armed forces, here inside, were complicit.”  (more...)
