Wawa teachers abused pair: Lawsuit

Two former male students of a Wawa public school allege they were sexually abused by two teachers in separate incidents several decades ago.

They have launched a civil lawsuit against Algoma District School Board.

The pair, who are not identified in a release from the London, Ont., law firm representing them, allege separate incidents involving Jack Bunting and Kenneth Sutherland happened in the late 1960s and early 1970s when they attended Sir James Dunn Public School. None of the allegations have been proven in court.

One former student alleges he was sexually assaulted by both teachers in separate incidents in 1969.

The other male accused Sutherland of abusing him in 1967 followed by Bunting abusing him in a shower in 1973 during a school trip to a pool.

Abuse included masturbation, oral sex and fondling genitalia.

Other incidents happened at the school, in vehicles and Sutherland's home, said lawyer Aaron Lealess.  (more...)

This reads like an advertisement. Perhaps a massive class action could drain the teachers' unions -- to the betterment of Ontario.

And, around the province:
