In occupied East Jerusalem’s Old City, Easter celebrations have been largely subdued, with key ceremonies scaled back or cancelled under strict security measures linked to the ongoing war on Iran. Amid the restrictions, there are growing concerns that Israel is gradually eroding the city’s long-standing status quo governing access to its sacred sites.
