When the Pope Is Not a Catholic

Pope Francis Catholic Ukraine Nazi diplomacy geopolitics media death squads

Vatican watchers will recall that former POTUS Richard Nixon famously declared he would have made a good Pope. He would certainly have avoided the massive diplomatic blunders Christ’s current Vicar on Earth has made.

Pope Francis, in his wisdom, recently held aloft a Ukrainian flag supplied to him by Ukraine’s Nazi infected authorities. That the Pope allowed the world’s media to photograph him embracing the flag of a notorious death squad currently embroiled in war crimes’ accusations is, by any metric, an appalling lapse of diplomatic sense that Nixon would never have made. Although that stupid act might have endeared him to Ukrainian Catholicism’s more extreme elements, Orthodox Patriarchs Kirill of Moscow and Bartholomew of Constantinople will, along with their faithful, have taken due note.

As even Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine, and other groups of the wider Orthodox community would feel very uneasy with the Vatican’s further encroachment on their terrain, the Pope’s show of feigned solidarity has to be regarded as a blunder of the first magnitude. Not only was it a Ukrainian flag but it had written on in ‘The Cossack Hundred of Maidan’ – the flag of Andriy Paubiy’s paramilitary far right nationalist unit, which orchestrated the 2014 fascist coup and many of the false flag war crimes that currently so concern the Western media.

As that makes Pope Francis’ actions akin to Pope Pius XII holding aloft the standard of the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler, Pope Francis’ action was an inconceivably massive blunder of the first magnitude. It is, on the surface, utterly incomprehensible and evidence the Vatican needs someone of POTUS Nixon’s political savvy at the helm.  (more...)
