Cambridge family removes children from school to protest new sex ed curriculum

A Cambridge family is among the many who are keeping their kids home from school in protest of the updated sexual education portion of the new Health and Phys. Ed. curriculum being introduced in Ontario classrooms this September.

570 News spoke to Imran Mubarik from Cambridge whose 7 and 8 year old kids will not be in school this week.

He says they have spoken to their kids about why they are not being sent to school.

“It’s not appropriate for the age of the kids” says Mubarik. “They shouldn’t introduce that kind of language and things at this early age.”

Mubarik insists it’s not just Muslim families that have removed their children from school.

“Some Catholic people are also part of the complaint” says Mubarik.  (more...)
