HCDSB trustee files motion to delay implementation of province's new sex ed curriculum

Curriculum supported by 'research'

An Oakville trustee with the Halton Catholic District School Board has filed a notice of motion requesting the board postpone implementation of Ontario’s controversial new sex education curriculum for a year.

Anthony Danko, who has been a trustee since 2006, filed the motion at last night’s regular meeting of the board. It will be brought forward for discussion and a vote at the next board meeting on June 2.

Citing concerns about the public outcry over the “graphic content” of the new sex education curriculum and the province’s failure to consult with parents about a new sex education program as promised, Danko filed his motion to delay implementation for parental consultation.  (more...)
