Hockey coach pleads guilty to slew of sex charges

A depraved hockey coach and Boy Scout leader pleaded guilty Monday to a slew of historical sexual assaults against young boys.

Kelly Jones was a minor league hockey coach for the South Ottawa Canadiens at the time of some of the assaults, but he also used his position as a grocery store manager to find young boys to bend to his will.

During the mid-1980s, for instance, he took the seven-year-old son of a cashier out for a camping trip at Algonquin Park. His own son was supposed to have come with them, but the boy couldn’t make it, leaving Jones to take the cashier’s kid to the park alone.
