The St Joe’s announcement references Gerald Jampolsky. This is Gerald.

He founded the first International Center for Attitudinal Healing

Unbelievable! Columnist suggests teachers should be given a legal pass to take sexual advantage of students

WASHINGTON, D.C. – We’ve been wondering when the national media was going to finally acknowledge what so many experts have openly admitted  – there has been a startling increase in recent years in the number of teachers arrested for having sex with underage students.

Now we finally find something published about this troubling topic, but it’s far from what we expected.

A recent editorial by Betsy Karasik in the Washington Post actually suggests that we decriminalize sexual activity between teachers and underage students, and even allow the offending teachers to eventually return to classrooms if “they prove they have completed rehabilitation.”

We wonder how many parents of teenagers agree with Karasik’s suggestion?  (more...)

Does Planned Parenthood Partner with Predators?

Seven percent of 14 to 17 years old teen girls who become pregnant have been impregnated by an adult.  This statistic, drawn from a late 1980’s study in Phoenix, caught my eye the other day.  It surprised me that it was so high 26 years ago.  Teens today are much more sexually active than they were back then and they start at an earlier age so the figure is probably much higher now.  Maybe the proportion is the same even if the numbers are higher, but I doubt it.

I could not find the exact number of children in the age group 14 to 17 in a quick search, but the number of females ages 15 to 19 in the U.S. totals 10,700,000.  Applying the numbers to this age group should give us some insight into the problem.  Black teens in this age group become pregnant at the rate of 41 per 1000.  For all ethnic groups the rate is 18 per 1000.  Since there are 1,348,200 black female teens, the number who become pregnant is about 55,000.  For the remaining teens in this age group the total pregnancies is approximate 137,000, making the total pregnancies for both groups about 192,000.  In order to get an equivalent approximation, we have to reduce this figure by 1/5 leaving approximate total pregnancies for the 14 to 17 year age group of 153,000.  Seven percent of this is 10,710.

That’s 10,710 teen girls in just this age group just this past year who were impregnated by an adult.  Of course that’s a small fraction of the children in that age group who are being abused in any given year.  And this is only one small segment of the total child population who actually became pregnant.  (more...)

English translation now available of Russian Law on homosexual propaganda

REAL Women has posted the English translation of the Russian law on the “Protection of Children from Information that Promotes Negation of Traditional Family Values.”   This is an  amendment to the 2010 law “On Protection of Children from Information Harmful to their Health and Development.”  The law prohibits the promotion of any sexual lifestyle harmful to minors. The law also forbids any act which promotes the use of intoxicating drugs or alcohol, denies family values, promotes gambling or offending language. This law has been analyzed by an international team of legal experts from Canada, Slovakia and the United Kingdom.  (The Slovak lawyer is a former Cabinet Member and Deputy Prime Minister). These legal experts have concluded that the Russian law does not violate any human rights code and that Russia has a democratic right to legislate in this area.

REAL Women attacked over criticism of Baird’s support of gay agenda

REAL Women’s Gwen Landolt criticized Canada’s
Foreign Minister for pursuing a personal agenda.

On August 7, REAL Women of Canada issued a press release condemning John Baird, Minister of Foreign Affairs, for imposing what it said was “his own perspective on homosexuality” in foreign countries such as Uganda, Kenya, and Russia when they have considered or passed laws opposed to homosexual activity and the gay agenda.

REAL Women, a pro-life and pro-family group that does not accept government subsidies, also chastised Baird for “using taxpayers money to promote his own personal agenda and endeavouring to set standards of the laws of foreign countries.” They criticized the Foreign Minister for giving $200,000 to pro-gay rights groups in Uganda and Kenya to promote the gay agenda in those African countries. Gwen Landolt, vice president of REAL Women, asked, “just who does John Baird think he is?”

Baird, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, has in the past two years been outspoken about the rights of homosexuals, admitting to attempting to repeatedly pressure the Russian government not to pass a law outlawing promotion of homosexuality earlier this year.  (more...)

30-day rape sentence may be illegal, says Montana judge at center of controversy

(CNN) -- A 30-day rape sentence given to a teacher who admitted to raping his 14-year-old student may be illegal, according to the Montana judge who imposed it.

The judge scheduled a new hearing for Friday.

"The Defendant shall be present at argument as the Court, if necessary and appropriate, will amend the mandatory minimum portion of the sentence," read a court order filed Tuesday.

It appears the mandatory minimum is two years, not 30 days, the order said.

"In this Court's opinion, imposing a sentence which suspends more than the mandatory minimum would be an illegal sentence," it continued.

The case drew widespread attention when District Judge G. Todd Baugh imposed the 30-day sentence on Stacey Dean Rambold and made controversial comments about the victim, saying she "seemed older than her chronological age."  (more...)
