Ecofascism - A New Threat

The first time many people heard about ecofascism was just after the Christchurch Mosque Shooting on March 15, 2019, after the killer stated he was an "ecofascist" in his manifesto. It was so obscure, and the reference immediately brought to mind the idea of "eco-terrorists," and hardline environmentalists. Unsurprisingly, White House advisor Kellyanne Conway alleged the killer was not a nazi at all, because he claimed to be an ecofascist, although she specifically used the term "eco-terrorist," because she has the integrity of a sock.

The online rhetoric surrounding the term furthered the misunderstandings. Not only does the Canadian Far-Right fail to grasp what ecofascism is, they also apply the label to essentially any environmentalist group, movement, or individual which they find disagreeable.

At its core, ecofascism is the belief that environmental harmony can only be achieved 1) by white people, 2) through the creation of a white ethnostate/homeland and by eradicating overpopulation via deportation and genocide, and 3) by acknowledging the natural world and embracing environmental principles while "rejecting the modern world." If that sounds a bit like nonsense, that's because it is. It draws heavily on mystical and intellectual philosophies/writings by individuals like Savitri Devi, a French national and fascist from a young age who renounced her citizenship to move to Greece, and spent her later years in India.

She is credited with inspiring the neo-Nazi obsession with occultism (like we see with accelerationist groups, as well as esoteric and occultist neo-Nazi groups such as Temple ov Blood and Order of the 9 Angles) and Hindu prophecies, like the Kali Yuga.

It's not surprising that the purported intellectualism of the alt-right/neo-Nazi movements borrow so heavily from people like Savitri, as well as Julius Evola, and Pentti Linkola, the Finnish deep-ecologist often praised on Arktos and Counter-Currents, whose ideas are ecofascist. The philosphies of all three are found consistently threaded throughout.

Even the Nazi slogan "Blood and Soil" is connected to ecofascism, and resonates strongly within the ideology - the nationalistic idea that the race must be protected (blood) by creating a homeland (soil), as is "Lebensraum." Election Day 2020: 32 Americans dead, over 200 injured, martial law declared and the election itself is canceled. While this horrific scenario seems more like the plot of a Hollywood film, such was the end result of a recent simulation examining the preparedness of U.S. officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Secret Service against “bad actors” seeking to undermine the upcoming presidential election.

Yet, this simulation was not a government-organized exercise but was instead orchestrated by a private company with deep ties to foreign and domestic intelligence services, a company that is also funded by investors with clear connections to individuals who would stand to benefit if such a catastrophic election outcome were to become reality.

Much of the rhetoric since the last presidential election in 2016 has focused on the issue of foreign meddling by U.S. rival states like Russia, while China has emerged as the new “meddler” of choice in American corporate media as the 2020 election approaches. Though time has revealed that many of the post-2016 election meddling claims were not as significant as initially claimed, the constant media discussion of foreign threats to U.S. democracy and electoral processes – whether real or imagined – has undeniably created a climate of fear.

Those fears have since been preyed upon by neoconservative groups and the U.S. military-industrial complex, both of which are hardly known for their love of democratic processes, to offer a series of ready-made solutions to these threats that actually undermine key pillars of American democracy, including independent reporting and voting machine software.

However, many of the very same media outlets and groups that frequently fretted about Russia, China or another rival state meddling in U.S. democracy have largely ignored the role of other nation states, such as Israel, in efforts to sway the last U.S. election in 2016 and meddle in numerous elections in Africa, Latin America and Asia in the years since.

As a consequence of this climate of fear, it should be hardly surprising that the corporate media lauded the recent 2020 election simulation that ended in an abysmal failure for U.S. officials, the cancellation of the U.S. election and the imposition of martial law. Yet, none of those reports on the exercise noted that the company that hosted the simulation, called Cybereason, is led by ex-members of Israel’s military intelligence unit 8200, advised by former top and current officials in both Israeli military intelligence and the CIA.  (more...)

“Our agency’s information on Medjugorje indicates that it is a “psychological terrorist” site.” This chilling message, from a former Colonel in the Soviet Union’s once vast and powerful security and intelligence apparatus, the KGB, was brief and to the point. It had been received following inquiries made through “official channels” concerning the Catholic shrine in Bosnia.

The former KGB Colonel added that Medjogorje was, in effect a “… cult or group where hundreds or thousands of people are forced to act against their wills,” and went on to liken the religious activities of Medjugorje to that of the “… People’s Temples sect of Jim Jones,” as well as to David Koresh’s Branch Davidians and the Swiss and Canadian Solar Temple Cult, in addition to the Heavens Gate sect in California which “… all resulted in hundreds of deaths.”

“Medjugorje seems to be similar to cases of mass hypnosis that we have studied in Eastern Europe. In Russia we have such specialists as Anatoly Kaspirovsky and Alan Chumack who have demonstrated these techniques in two ways. First in person (sic) contact with large audiences and second through mass media technology.” The writer then added: “the easiest targets were women” aged between 35 and 55 years. On June 6, 1947, Argentina's first lady Eva Peron left for a glittering tour of Europe.

The glamorous ex-actress was feted in Spain, kissed the ring of Pope Pius XII at the Vatican and hobnobbed with the rich-and-famous in the mountains of Switzerland.

Eva Peron, known as "Evita" by her adoring followers, was superficially on a trip to strengthen diplomatic, business and cultural ties between Argentina and important leaders of Europe.

But there was a parallel mission behind the high-profile trip, one that has contributed to a half century of violent extremism in Latin America.

According to records now emerging from Swiss archives and the investigations of Nazi hunters, an unpublicized side of Evita's world tour was coordinating the network for helping Nazis relocate in Argentina.

This new evidence of Evita's cozy ties with prominent Nazis corroborates the long-held suspicion that she and her husband, Gen. Juan Peron, laid the groundwork for a bloody resurgence of fascism across Latin America in the 1970s and '80s.

Besides blemishing the Evita legend, the evidence threatens to inflict more damage on Switzerland's image for plucky neutrality. The international banking center is still staggering from disclosures about its wartime collaboration with Adolf Hitler and Swiss profiteering off his Jewish victims.

The archival records indicate that Switzerland's assistance to Hitler's henchmen didn't stop with the collapse of the Third Reich.  (more...)
