NDAA 2027: A Trojan Horse to Link U.S-Israel Militaries

NDAA 2027 military integration Israel politics MIC Epstein class

In episode #597 of the SUNDAY WIRE SHOW, which aired on May 31, 2026, guest host Bryan “Hesher” McClain, filling in for Patrick Henningsen, with a deeper analysis and an in-depth look at one of the most consequential yet underreported developments currently moving through Washington.

At the centre of this week's program is language contained within the proposed 2027 National Defense Authorisation Act (NDAA) that would significantly expand defence cooperation and integration between the United States and Israel. Critics argue that the initiative moves beyond traditional military cooperation and toward a new framework of synchronised defence planning, technology development, intelligence sharing, AI systems, cyber capabilities, industrial coordination, and battlefield integration. Supporters claim the proposal is necessary to address emerging global threats and maintain strategic advantage.

We explore the constitutional, political, and geopolitical implications of these developments while asking a broader question: At what point does an alliance stop being an alliance and become something else entirely?

The time for a U.S. arms embargo on Israel is now

US Israel arms embargo opposition unpopularity funding dissent

The U.S. is starting talks on a new military aid deal for Israel as support for the country hits an all-time low. Israel’s supporters are feeling the pressure and pushing for cosmetic changes, but don’t fall for it. We need a full arms embargo

Israel’s standing among the U.S. public is at an all-time low after Americans have witnessed two- and-one-half years of live-streamed Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, fueled by tens of billions of dollars of U.S. taxpayer-provided weapons and diplomatic cover.

Last August, a Quinnipiac poll found that 60 percent of all Americans, including 75 percent of Democrats and 66 percent of independents, opposed U.S. military funding for Israel while only 32 percent supported it.

Even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seems to recognize the unpopularity of asking U.S. taxpayers to further subsidize weapons to Israel. In an interview with 60 Minutes earlier this month, Netanyahu suggested transitioning from “aid” to a “partnership.”

This was not a surprise. Netanyahu had announced earlier this year that he wanted to “taper off” formal U.S. taxpayer-funded weapons, known as Foreign Military Financing (FMF), to Israel over the next decade, in favor of increased co-production and co-development of weapons between Israeli and U.S. weapons manufacturers. This proposal garnered the backing of pro-Israel stalwart Sen. Lindsey Graham and aligns with proposals for strengthening the U.S.-Israeli relationship put forward by The Heritage Foundation and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), two pro-Trump think tanks with a hard-edged anti-Palestinian animus and clear pro-Israel agendas.

However, American taxpayers should be aware of the bait-and-switch nature of these proposals, especially as the U.S. and Israel now enter into negotiations for a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will outline the parameters of the bilateral military relationship over the next decade.  (more...)

The Rise of the Global South

Global South Iran Oman economy defeat Middle East Trump hegemony

The war on Iran has not only ended in a humiliating defeat for the United States, but resulted in a dramatic shift in the balance of power in the Middle East and the Global South.

The humiliating defeat of Israel and the United States in their war on Iran, along with the savagery of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, are ushering in a new world order. This order is one where voices of reason and stability emanate not from the West — which spent tens of billions of dollars sustaining Israel’s genocide — but from the Global South, including China. It is an order where alliances are being rapidly reconfigured to protect countries from a rogue American state that lashes out like a wounded beast, as it spirals toward terminal decline.

The end of the U.S. Empire, led by an impetuous and clueless Donald Trump, is irreversible. The U.S. has lost its sixth war in the Middle East in 25 years. Iran’s power has been enhanced not only because it — along with Oman — controls the Strait of Hormuz — where roughly 25 percent of the world’s seaborne oil and 20 percent of the world’s seaborne liquified natural gas pass through — but because it has delivered a stark message, with its drones and missiles, to U.S. allies and bases in the region, while sending the global economy into a tailspin.

Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — who reportedly lured Trump into the war with Alice-in-Wonderland visions of easy regime change in Iran following the decapitation strikes against the country on February 28, 2026, which included the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other political and military figures, along with 168 school children and their teachers — may strike Iran again. They are desperate. But a renewed bombing of Iran will not work. Iran’s mosaic defense strategy ensures all political and military commanders are easily replaced.

Iran can strangle the world economy by closing the Strait of Hormuz. It can accelerate the pain by getting its Yemeni allies — Ansar Allah — to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea, just as they did to Israel-bound ships when defending Palestinians after October 7. This could result in a complete blockade. Saudi Arabia, with the Bab el-Mandeb Strait open, is able to bypass the Strait of Hormuz and export five million barrels a day through its pipeline to tankers in the Red Sea port of Yanbu.

If a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is not reached soon, the global economy will crash, perhaps within weeks. The U.S. and its allies, such as Japan, have released some of their extensive strategic oil reserves, however they will not be able to cushion markets indefinitely. Stockpiles in America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve are near their lowest in more than 40 years. Once these reserves are depleted, the price of fuel will skyrocket. If a barrel of oil shoots up to $200, the price at the pump could climb as high as $10 per gallon. This, coupled with shortages of other petroleum-based products, along with nitrogen fertilizer, aluminum, and helium — an indispensable element in the production of MRI machines and semiconductors — are already shutting down vital industries and driving up prices on basic commodities.  (more...)

Why is the US spending more than half a billion dollars on a facility near Montreal?

Canada arms manufacture General Dynamics Montreal Salaberry-de-Valleyfield opposition dissent

The US Army is gearing up for a massive $682 million upgrade to the General Dynamics facility in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. The upgrade is set to increase production capacity from 6 to 16 million pounds of munitions and ordnance. This facility is of great importance as it is the sole supplier of the M31A2 propellant used in 155mm artillery ammunition. Investigations have revealed this propellant to have been actively used in Gaza by Israel.

On this episode of Local 514, host Kalden Dhatsenpa speaks with two activists organizing against this planned expansion. The #StopGDExpansion campaign is organizing a protest in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield this coming Saturday, May 30th, in conjunction with concerned residents who believe the expansion will negatively affect their health, the environment around Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, and who have qualms about the end use of the facility’s output.

Canada Exported $14.6 Million Of Military Goods To Israel In 2025

Canada arms exports military goods Israel lawlessness Gaza genocide profiteering

A total of 50 military export permits were utilized to sell goods to Israel in 2025.

Canada exported $14.6 million worth of military goods directly to Israel last year, according to a report published today by Global Affairs Canada.

A total of 50 military export permits were utilized to sell goods to Israel in 2025, the report says.

The military goods were shipped despite the Liberal government stating that it paused approvals of some new military export permits on January 8, 2024 and suspending dozens of existing permits for goods that it believed could be used in Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Under the Export and Import Permits Act, the Minister of Foreign Affairs is legally obliged not to authorize military export permits if there is a substantial risk the goods could be used to commit or facilitate serious violations of international humanitarian or human rights law.

The report states that two new military export permits to Israel were issued in 2025.

The Maple revealed last year that these permits were for parts related to Israel’s Iron Dome missile system, which allows Israel to inflict massive civilian casualties at a scale that dwarfs its own losses. The two permits were valued at $37.2 million.  (more...)

Defence trade show bars outlets it suspects may produce critical coverage

“With the government of Canada’s renewed focus on defence, […] CADSI is receiving a significant uptick in requests for service, advice, and assistance. Rest assured that your message has been received, and a member of our team will reply as soon as possible.” — Excerpt from CADSI’s general email autoresponse

CANSEC is a global defence and security trade show, and Canada’s largest defence convention. The event, held annually in Ottawa, brings together representatives of private defence companies and dozens of delegations from foreign governments to showcase “leading-edge technology, products and services for land-based, naval, aerospace and joint forces military units.”

On the CANSEC homepage, the convention reports that attendees will also include 45 MPs, senators and cabinet ministers. The convention was founded in 1998, and is hosted by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI).

This week, Ricochet Media’s request for a press pass to cover the event was declined on the basis that our organization “does not meet the CADSI Eligibility Requirements.”

CANSEC’s media accreditation page states: “New media applicants are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and the accreditation decisions are final. CANSEC is a private event and organizers reserve the right to deny accreditation.”

Just hours after the portal for media accreditation opened, this reporter applied for status on assignment for Ricochet Media. After following up, we received the following response by email.

“Thank you for registering for CANSEC 2026. We have reviewed your application and have declined it for the following reasons:

Your media organization does not meet the CADSI Eligibility Requirements.”

CADSI’s only eligibility criteria regarding media organizations is that applicants must be “a member of an established local, national or international media organization with relevant identification.”  (more...)

Canada University of Toronto CANSEC trade show independent journalists prohibition censorship

“Your media organization does not meet the CADSI Eligibility Requirements.”

Canada’s largest arms fair has refused media accreditation for multiple independent journalists and media outlets, including The Maple.

The CANSEC trade show, hosted by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) at Ottawa’s Cohere Centre this Wednesday and Thursday, is an annual event that attracts hundreds of arms companies and dozens of Canadian politicians as attendees.

Keynote speakers at this year’s event include Defence Minister David McGuinty and Industry Minister Mélanie Joly, as well as former United States president Joe Biden’s national security advisor, Jake Sullivan.

The organizers state that they work with the Canadian government “to engage a diverse global community” and list the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces as their “strategic partners.”

The Maple applied for media accreditation for this year’s CANSEC, but received an email from CADSI’s press team explaining that: “We have reviewed your application and have declined it for the following reasons [...] Your media organization does not meet the CADSI Eligibility Requirements.”

CADSI did not respond to questions from The Maple asking for details about its eligibility requirements and why it believes The Maple did not meet them. The Maple requested the decision to be reviewed, but heard nothing further from CADSI.  (more...)

Iran Handala Hackers EXPOSE 69 Israeli Navy Officers, Announce $100K BOUNTY After Gaza Flotilla Raid

Handala Hack #100K bounty Israel navy officers Global Sumud Flotilla abuse activists outrage

An Iran-linked hacking group known as Handala has claimed responsibility for leaking the identities and personal details of 69 Israeli Navy officers online, accusing them of participating in the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla near Cyprus. The group escalated tensions further by announcing a $100,000 bounty for each officer named in the leak. The flotilla, carrying activists and humanitarian aid for Gaza, was intercepted by Israeli forces in May 2026, sparking international controversy and allegations of abuse during detention. Israel denied the accusations, while Handala issued direct threats toward Israeli officials including Itamar Ben-Gvir amid rapidly escalating cyber and regional tensions.

Russia warns all foreign citizens to leave Kiev

Russia warning Kiev evacuation foreigners diplomats Ukraine

Moscow has urged foreigners to leave the Ukrainian capital and warned residents to stay away from military, industrial and government sites

Kiev’s deadly attack on a college dorm in the Russian town of Starobelsk last week was the “last straw” for Russia, and it will be conducting “systematic strikes” on assorted targets across the Ukrainian capital from now on, the Foreign Ministry in Moscow has announced.

The ministry made the statement on Monday, a day after a large-scale retaliatory strike on Kiev, prompted by the drone attack on the college in the Lugansk People’s Republic. The Ukrainian strike killed at least 21 people in their dormitory, mainly teenage girls.

The Starobelsk attack has become yet another testament to “the Nazi and terrorist nature of the Kiev regime, which deliberately targets civilians and does not hesitate to murder children in cold blood,” the ministry said, warning that Moscow is shifting its approach to the Ukraine conflict.

“This was the last straw. Under these circumstances, the Russian Armed Forces will be launching systematic strikes against the Ukrainian military-industrial complex in Kiev, including locations where UAVs are designed, manufactured, programmed, and prepared for use,” the ministry said, adding that the campaign will also affect “decision-making centers and command posts.”  (more...)

🚨URGENT ACTION 🚨

Go to the link in @torontostudentsforpalestine bio to send an email TODAY to U of T to demand that they revoke their sponsorship of the weapons conference CANSEC.

CANSEC is a weapons trade show that hosts numerous weapons manufacturers and governments accused of war crimes and human rights abuses. A few of the weapons manufactures exhibiting at CANSEC that are complicit in war crimes and/or human rights violations include Elbit Systems, Roshel and Lockheed Martin.

This year U of T became the first university to ever sponsor CANSEC.

On May 12th U of T students, workers and faculty published an open letter demanding that the University of Toronto revoke its sponsorship of CANSEC. This letter was signed by 20 U of T student, worker and faculty groups and unions, but has so far been ignored by U of T administration. Additionally, on May 13th the U of T denied a student the opportunity to express concerns about the sponsorship of CANSEC at the University of Toronto Governing Council meeting despite the student following all proper procedures to speak.

These actions are in direct violation of U of T’s mission statement that commits to the “vigilant protection for individual human rights, and a resolute commitment to the principles of equal opportunity, equity and justice”.

Russian Duma Members Warn of Possible 'European Reich March to the East'

Germany revanchism militarization warmongering Russophobia politics

The sharp warnings coming from Russian political leaders about the growth of 1930s-style revanchism in Germany, and the EU in general, did not begin with their response to the May 22 drone attack on the Starobelsk trade school, which killed 18 youth.

Back on May 7, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, wrote a lengthy, widely-discussed article headlined “Germany’s new militarization: Revival of the spirit or blatant revanchism?”.

The newspaper Vzglyad questioned a number of Russian Duma members about their response to Medvedev’s article.

Yevgeny Popov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, stated: “We see industrial growth in Germany: civilian conglomerates that once manufactured automobiles are once again shifting onto a wartime footing. We see massive investments in weaponry, an expansion of the army, and active recruitment efforts. And most importantly—the current German government makes no secret of its plans to wage war against Russia… We must ensure that a revanchist Germany is never again able to rear its head and threaten our country and our people,” the deputy concluded.  (more...)

Operation Geschäftsfreund: How West Germany Paid for Israel’s Nuclear Bomb

Dimona nuclear weapons program Negev Israel Germany money laundering deception

In March 2026, an investigation in Haaretz argued that West Germany may have “secretly financed” much of Israel’s Dimona nuclear project through off‑the‑books loans worth roughly 2 billion Deutschmarks, funneled under the cover of “Negev development.” Historical clues indicate that Germany secretly funded Israel’s nuclear program and raise the questions about how much Dimona cost, who really paid for it, and what that says about Germany’s postwar “moral responsibility”.

This article picks up where that story stops. It goes back to Bundestag files, development‑bank records and declassified intelligence histories to show, in considerably sharper detail, how Bonn built a secret credit machine for Israel, who ran it, and how it locked Germany into a nuclear order it still refuses to name.

Germany did not just look away while Israel built the bomb. It helped pay for it, hid the money off the books, and then spent decades pretending that nothing of the sort had ever happened. Today, the same state that secretly bankrolled Dimona presents itself as a guardian of non‑proliferation and lectures Iran on the dangers of nuclear ambiguity.

Germany never tires of preaching its “historical responsibility” to Israel. Reparations. Moral duty, and postwar atonement, even though the archives expose a different reality. What actually happened was a cold-blooded, decade-long secret cash pipeline, codenamed Operation Geschäftsfreund  (Business Friend)— that funnelled nearly two billion Deutsche Marks into Israel under the cover of “development” projects while Bonn kept parliament, the public and much of its own bureaucracy in the dark.

The key paper trail runs through the Bundestag’s own 2012 reply, Drucksache 17/10482. There the government finally acknowledged that Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion struck a confidential understanding at the Waldorf Astoria in New York on 14 March 1960: a special 2 billion DM credit line, paid out over roughly a decade and shielded from public scrutiny for “foreign-policy reasons.” The arrangement was implemented through the state development bank KfW and booked as bilateral capital aid for Israel’s economy, formally “development assistance,” in practice something far more sensitive.  (more...)

Will World War III Begin on German Soil?

NATO Germany neo-Nazi Ukraine militarization EU drones complicity

It is arguably the case that the spark that could unleash nuclear World War III between NATO and Russia (and China) will not come from the war against Iran or even Ukraine—dangerous though those crises continue to be—but from Germany.

On a widely watched TV talk show on ZDF, Germany’s second public television channel, a highly-respected retired brigadier general who was Military Policy Adviser to former Chancellor Angela Merkel from 2006-2013, Erich Vad, finally gave voice to what many Germans have been scared to say out loud. “Your rhetoric is driving us into a war!” he told CDU security expert Roderich Kiesewetter, a well-known war hawk. If the anti-Russian war mobilization of Germany by the Merz government continues; if they insist on bringing Ukraine into the EU on an expedited basis; and if Germany and other NATO countries keep producing and guiding the drones that are raining havoc on Russia, “You will have Russian missile strikes on our country!” Vad warned.

Vad didn’t mince his words: “The day will come when they [the Russians] carry out retaliatory strikes against Europe, against Germany. First conventionally, and if necessary, they’ll go one level higher. Russia is the world’s strongest nuclear power. If we bring Ukraine into Europe, we will bring the war with Russia into Europe!”

Vad was not overstating the problem.

The Russian government is placing the blame squarely on the nations of NATO and the EU for what they call the “barbaric” May 22 attack on the Starobelsk trade school in the Lugansk People’s Republic, in which Ukrainian drones killed 18 adolescents (at last count) and wounded dozens more as they slept in their dormitories. “This constitutes a manifestation of neo-Nazism,” President Vladimir Putin charged.  (more...)

Russia Retaliates After Ukrainian Strike On Student Dormitory

Russia Ukraine NATO terrorism retaliation politics provocation war student dormitory

On May 22, only two days after Russian President Vladimir Putin concluded an historic state visit to China, Ukraine launched a deadly attack on a student dormitory in Luhansk, killing 21 persons and wounding 42.

Vladimir Putin alleged that the attack was deliberate and ordered Russia's military to present options for retaliation. Russian officials claimed the Ukrainian strike used long range weapons supplied by NATO and that foreign specialists assisted targeting.

Last night, Russia retaliated with a massive missile attack on Kyiv and the area surrounding the Ukrainian capital. Footage posted online appears to show that Russia employed the hypersonic Oreshnik missile in the attack.

Dimitri Lascaris speaks with Russia expert John Helmer about NATO's escalating attacks on Russia and the growing pressure on the Putin government to strike back at NATO.

Ukraine’s secret Al-Qaeda invasion of Africa

Ukraine Africa Mali Al-Qaeda France mercenaries Foreign Legion insurgency

Ukraine, backed by Western intelligence networks, has expanded covert operations into the Sahel, supporting anti-government and extremist-linked forces in Mali as part of a broader campaign against Russian and Chinese influence in Africa.

On May 13th, French outlet RTL published an explosive report, entirely unremarked upon by English language media. It exposed how Ukrainian military and intelligence units are covertly operating in Mali on France’s behalf, “in coordination” with both ethnic Tuareg rebels and Al Qaeda-linked forces determined to crush the country’s revolutionary government. Furthermore, Kiev is keen to expand and escalate its African operations yet further, and destabilise neighbouring countries. Ukrainian militancy, long-encouraged by the CIA and MI6, has now decisively developed into an independent international threat.

In August 2020, elements of Mali’s military staged a coup, overthrowing Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta. Ever since, its government has sought to neutralise Western influence locally, while pursuing radical economic policies for the good of the population. French forces were booted out in 2022 after almost a decade of occupation. Mali has instead looked to China and Russia for economic, military and political assistance, while founding the revolutionary Alliance of Sahel States (AES) with neighbouring Burkina Faso and Niger.

Polling shows Malians almost universally embrace their government, and its close alliance with Moscow. However, Bamako’s military administration has throughout its lifetime battled incursions from ethnic Tuareg rebels, backed by murderous extremist groups. Since late April, they have conducted combined offensives, capturing several towns, executing deadly strikes on major cities, attacking state buildings, and murdering Defense Minister Sadio Camara via car bomb. Moreover, government forces backed by Russia’s Africa Corps have been ejected from several key areas.

Bamako and Moscow characterise the bloody upheaval as a thwarted coup attempt. Nonetheless, the situation remains volatile, and potentially grave. RTL now reveals the Al-Qaeda-linked unrest has been orchestrated and practically supported all along by “Ukrainian soldiers on the ground, who are cooperating with the Tuareg rebels.” In turn, France can “continue to operate” in Mali “indirectly”. Through Kiev’s cutouts, Paris provides “operational support” to the unpopular and savage local counter-revolutionary insurgency, in the absence of her own occupying army.  (more...)

Elbows up? Canada is letting Pentagon take ‘unprecedented’ stakes in Canadian mines

Canada mining resource extraction First Nations US military Pentagon weapons manufacture

By fast-tracking critical minerals, Canada is not simply building a green economy. It is being further integrated into the U.S. war industry

Even as Prime Minister Mark Carney touts his plans to protect Canada’s economic sovereignty, the country’s critical minerals are making their way into U.S. weapons.

According to legal experts, the U.S. is taking “possibly unprecedented” measures to secure ownership over Canadian mines, turning Canada—and the First Nations from whose lands the minerals are sourced—into a U.S. mining territory. All the while, the Canadian government is helping fund and fast-track these projects.

From the provincial to the federal levels, Canada has been on a tear of expediting the extraction of critical minerals from its far north. These minerals were branded as “urgently necessary”—first for the transition to clean energy, and then, amid U.S. annexation threats, for Canada’s national security.

Nickel, copper, graphite, cobalt, tungsten, chromium, and rare earth elements are not just inputs for batteries and wind turbines. They are also needed to build fighter jets, drones, missiles, radar systems, submarines, armour, and ammunition.

As I explain in a policy paper for the Transition Security Project, Canada has long been a reliable supplier of inputs for the United States’ wars. From Canada’s underbelly came the uranium for the U.S.’s nuclear bombs, nickel for armoured plates on its battleships, and aluminium for its warplanes.

But when Canadian minerals are being earmarked for foreign military manufacturing, is that really in Canada’s national interest?  (more...)

Why won’t Canadian military cut Trump-led US ties?

Canada US Trump military ties elbows up warmongering

As Trump once again threatens to destroy all of Iran, Canadian politicians won’t even condemn the US president’s rhetoric, let alone push to reduce military ties. And in an embarrassing turn, the annexationist president is the one who has paused a major bilateral military accord.

Just before speaking with an Israeli Prime Minister pushing to restart a full-scale war against the country of 93 million, Donald Trump posted on Sunday “For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!” A week ago, the leader of the only country ever to have employed nuclear arms suggested he might employ these horrific weapons again saying, “If there’s no ceasefire you’re just going to have to look at one big glow coming out of Iran.”

In a prior example of rhetoric even supporters of the US/Israeli aggression ought to denounce, Trump said, “If they don’t sign this deal, the whole country is going to get blown up.” That same day the president posted to Truth Social, “the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran. NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!” A week beforehand Trump threatened “a whole civilization will die tonight never to be brought back again” and then declared “Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell.”

To the best of my knowledge the last time any Canadian politician directly condemned Trump’s unhinged rhetoric was after he threatened to destroy “a whole civilization”. And even then, it was mostly NDP representatives who didn’t demand any concrete action.  (more...)
