Microsoft Israel country general manager Alon Haimovich was removed from his post after an internal investigation into the branch’s ties with the Israeli Defense Ministry, Globes reported on 11 May.
The Israeli office was placed under Microsoft France until a permanent replacement is appointed.
Haimovich, who led Microsoft Israel for four years, was summoned as part of the probe after the local branch failed to fully disclose how the ministry was using Microsoft systems.
Several managers responsible for internal oversight, compliance, and governance are also leaving their posts.
According to Globes, Microsoft was concerned that Israeli military units were using its systems in ways that were not transparent to global management, violated company terms, and exposed Microsoft to legal and regulatory risks in Europe. (more...)
