Well it was the easiest thing they could do. Recognize Palestine. Raise a flag. Put it on the shelf. Recognizing a genocide would mean they would have to do something about it. Recognizing the injustice would mean reparations. Recognizing the crimes against humanity would mean wrestling with their own complicity.
