Teachers expected to know sex ed curriculum despite boycotting training sessions


The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario has directed its members not to participate in any training sessions dealing with the new sex education curriculum as part of its work-to-rule campaign protesting the lack of progress in contract negotiations.

But the public school board says teachers will still be expected to teach it this September.

“Yes, just like all curriculum,” public board superintendent of education Sharon Pyke said when asked if it was expected teachers be prepared to teach the new curriculum to start the school year.  (more...)
