‘Enough is enough’ when it comes to bad behaviour, says TDSB chair


After years of bad behaviour, squabbling and animosity, Toronto’s public board will be the first in the province to hire an integrity commissioner to oversee trustee conduct.

“We are very excited to set the board on this positive path, to have an independent office of the integrity commissioner to make sure that all conduct by trustees is ethical and held to the highest standards of transparency and accountability,” said Shaun Chen, chair of the Toronto District School Board.

On Wednesday night, trustees approved a plan, with former city integrity commissioner Janet Leiper acting as an adviser to get the office up and running by this fall.  (more...)
