Second accuser claims he was 16 when gay activist Terry Bean had sex with him in 1979


Nationally known gay activist Terry Bean, facing accusations of sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy, engaged in sex acts with another underage teenager in 1979, according to court records filed late Wednesday.

Bean, 66, and his former boyfriend, Kiah Loy Lawson, 25, are accused of having sex with a 15-year-old boy at a Eugene hotel in 2013. They each are charged with two counts of third-degree sodomy, a felony, and third-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor. They pleaded not guilty to the charges and are scheduled for trial Aug. 11.

During the investigation, a man from California contacted detectives and told them about his experience with Bean in 1979. The man, then 16, had a sexual relationship with Bean that lasted about seven months, he told police. Bean turned 31 during that time.  (more...)
