Alexander Rahr, the President of the Eurasia Society in Berlin, who has a long history of experience in working to improve relations between Germany and Russia, expressed deep concern over the report of a possible British-French initiative to provide nuclear weapons to Ukraine.  He decried such talk as dangerous, but not surprising, given the role the British have played in organizing Europe to keep the war against Russia going.  Given the Russophobia of the northern Europeans -- by which he specified nations of Scandinavia and the Baltics, Britain and France -- he said he believes the only hope of ending the war rests with the U.S. President.  Donald Trump will prevail, he said, but he faces opposition in the U.S. from the Democrats and the "Deep State", in addition to that from Europe.  As for the Republicans, he said those who want Trump to succeed in achieving peace in Europe want him to split the alliance between Russia and China, and get Russia to join with the U.S. to face the challenge of China.

He also had interesting comments about what he described as the "weakness" of the Russian army and strategic errors in the war against Ukraine.

 He said he watched the "European problem" dominate the last several years of the Munich Security Conference (MSC).  He singled out the failure of Europe's leaders to recognize the emerging "multipolar world" as their problem.  The MSC focus was narrowly on Europe, with no attention given to the BRICS, which is a new element.  He expressed disappointment in the youth in Germany, who act as though nuclear weapons are an issue for older people who live in the past.

In addition to chairing the Eurasia Society in Berlin, Rahr serves as a board member of the Petersburg Dialogue, is a member of the Valdai Club and a former senior adviser to Gazprom.

Marshal of the Sejm Wlodzimierz Czarzasty has said the US president does not deserve a Nobel Peace Prize

The US Embassy in Poland announced that it would cut ties with Polish parliamentary speaker Wlodzimierz Czarzasty after he said US President Donald Trump does not deserve a Nobel Peace Prize.

On Monday, Czarzasty denounced Trump’s tariff policies and his plan to annex Greenland from Denmark. He also criticized the president for downplaying the contribution of America’s NATO allies during the war in Afghanistan. Czarzasty further described Trump’s proposed global Board of Peace as “illusory” and accused him of undermining the EU, UN, and NATO.

“I will not support President Trump’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize because he doesn’t deserve it,” the Polish official said.

In a post on X on Thursday, US Ambassador to Poland Tom Rose accused Czarzasty of damaging bilateral ties. “Effective immediately, we will have no further dealings, contacts, or communications with Marshal of the Sejm Czarzasty,” Rose wrote, citing the “outrageous and unprovoked insults.”  (more...)

Iran just labeled the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) a terrorist organization. To the surprise of many, it may be justified.

In response to Ottawa designating Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization last year, that country’s government labeled the RCN a terrorist group. While Tuesday’s listing may appear extreme to most Canadians — because our imperial history is not well known — the RCN has bombed and blockaded countries during wars of aggression as well as participating in international patrols designed to pressure countries.

In recent years the RCN has participated in US-led naval operations to monitor Yemen and run provocative manoeuvres off Iran’s coast. Alongside US ships, Canadian vessels have also repeatedly been involved in belligerent “freedom of navigation” exercises through international waters that Beijing claims in the South China Sea, Strait of Taiwan and East China Sea.

In early 2011, 15 days before the UN Security Council authorized a no-fly zone over Libya, HMCS Charlottetown left Halifax for the North African country. Two rotations of Canadian warships enforced a naval blockade of Libya for six months with about 250 soldiers aboard each vessel. On May 19, 2011, HMCS Charlottetown joined an operation that destroyed eight Libyan naval vessels. The ship also repelled a number of fast, small boats and escaped unscathed after a dozen missiles were fired towards it from the port city of Misrata. After those hostilities the head of Canada’s navy, Paul Maddison, told Ottawa defence contractors that Charlottetown “played a key role in keeping the Port of Misrata open as a critical enabler of the anti-Gaddafi forces.”

On one occasion a Canadian warship, part of a 20-ship NATO flotilla purportedly enforcing the UN arms embargo on Libya, boarded a rebel vessel filled with ammunition. “There are loads of weapons and munitions, more than I thought,” a Canadian officer radioed Charlottetown commander Craig Skjerpen. “From small ammunition to 105 howitzer rounds and lots of explosives.” The commander’s response, reported the Ottawa Citizen, was to allow the rebel ship to sail through.  (more...)

Poland must be ready to defend border with Germany – president

 

The country must do everything to maintain its national identity and independence, Karol Nawrocki has said

Poland must remain “ready to defend the western border” with Germany, President Karol Nawrocki has declared. The remarks drew pushback from Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, who insisted that as long as Germany is an EU and NATO member, it poses no threat.

Nawrocki delivered his warning on Saturday at an event marking the anniversary of a 1918 uprising against German rule, recalling that Poles had lived under “severe German imperialism” during historical partitions, when “aggressive” efforts were made to “take away our culture and national heritage.”

Poland, he said, is a “national community open to the west, but also a national community ready to defend the western border of the republic.” Nawrocki, who was elected this year with the support of the right-wing opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, stressed that “we must do everything we can to ensure that Poland remains Poland.”

The remarks drew an immediate response from Foreign Minister Sikorski. “As long as Germany is in NATO and the EU, and is governed by Christian or social democrats, there is no threat to our western border,” Sikorski said.  (more...)

The state-owned Polish company, Nitro-Chem, produced 90% of the TNT that U.S. weapons manufacturers used to make "Mark Series" bombs, according to a new report.

A Polish firm plays a central role in providing trinitrotoluene (TNT), the key explosive used in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, according to “The Missing Ingredient: Polish TNT,” a report published today by a coalition representing the People’s Embargo for Palestine, Palestinian Youth Movement, Shadow World Investigations, and Movement Research Unit. Nitro-Chem, a state-owned company located in Poland’s northeast, produced 90% of the TNT imported by the U.S. to make the aerial bombs sent to Israel in recent years, the report claims.

Since October 2023, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) unleashed tens of thousands of bombs likely containing payloads of Polish-made TNT, resulting in the destruction of as much as 80 percent of Gaza’s buildings, including civilian infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, and refugee camps. “Based on information provided by the bomb’s U.S. manufacturer, General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, the Polish company Nitro-Chem, and U.S. government databases, we can conclude that there is a high probability that a significant proportion of [Mk 84s] that Israel dropped on the Gaza Strip since October 2023 are filled with Polish-made TNT,” the report found.

Nitro-Chem contracts with U.S weapons manufacturers in the Mk 80 supply chain date back to at least 2016, with the most recent orders signed in April of this year featuring delivery dates continuing until 2029. The timing of one major contract at the height of the air campaign against Gaza in April 2024 suggests that the Israeli army was burning through its large supply of one-ton Mk 84s—a barrage that was already without recent military precedent. According to an estimate in Haaretz based on officer interviews, as many as two-thirds of the 50,000 bombs dropped by the IAF through the end of August 2024 were Mk 84s. Military experts described the display as one “not seen since Vietnam.”

Although the Biden administration placed a hold on Mk 84 shipments to Israel, it was lifted within days of Trump taking office in January. The hold Biden placed on the shipments was a hiccup, and the supply chain is as robust as ever, according to the report, with multiple contracts showing the three countries—Poland, the U.S., and Israel—eager to replenish the IAF’s bomb.  (more...)

As Catherine Connolly was inaugurated as Ireland’s 10th president in Dublin Castle today, efforts intensified to undermine the country’s neutrality as it weighs moves to punish Israel for genocide. 

Connolly, 68, was elected after winning over 63 percent of the vote in a landslide victory last month, her robust defence of anti-war and anti-genocide positions resonating with the Irish electorate, while causing alarm in Western corridors of power.

These are signs that the victory of the anti-imperialist left has served to galvanise establishment forces, both at home and abroad.

A former White House national security advisor, Robert C. O’Brien, writing in The Wall Street Journal last week, warned the Trump administration would “no longer tolerate countries that reap the benefits of America’s economic strength and military power, while pursuing policies that undermine American interests.”

“Ireland’s President-elect embodies the antagonism towards American interests,” he wrote, adding:

“Ireland is finding its voice in international affairs, but it’s one that seems increasingly hostile to US interests. Ireland is the most antagonistic country to Israel in the Western world … Ireland was one of the first Western democracies to recognise a Palestinian state unilaterally, and it is at the forefront of allegations of ‘genocide’ against Israel. Social Media Spies Exposed: Profiles Vanish After MintPress Report

 

After being exposed as former national security state agents by MintPress, large numbers of officials working in the highest levels of top social media platforms have deleted their profiles or wiped the incriminating evidence from the internet.

A series of MintPress News investigations uncovered a network of hundreds of former agents of the CIA, FBI, and other three-letter agencies, as well as high State Department and NATO officials working at social media giants, such as Facebook, Google, TikTok, and Twitter. These individuals are overwhelmingly concentrated in politically sensitive departments, such as trust and safety, security, and content moderation, meaning that these ex-spies and intelligence officials are helping to influence what billions of people around the world see, read and hear (and deciding who is promoted and who is suppressed).

Once this information was made public by MintPress, it caused a stir, being picked up by larger outlets, going viral online, and even being used as evidence in a Congressional hearing.

Many of the individuals profiled by MintPress have deleted the accounts and pages we used to expose their pasts. Others have simply removed the incriminating evidence from their biographies.

A prime example of this is Aaron Berman. Berman is Content Policy Global Lead at Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. In his own words, this role makes him the head of “the team that writes the rules for Facebook,” determining “what is acceptable and what is not” for the platform’s 3.1 billion users. He appears in numerous official Meta videos as the face of its global content moderation policy.

Aaron Berman is a CIA agent. Or at least he was until July 2019, when he left his post as senior analytic manager at the agency to become senior product policy manager for misinformation at Meta. A 15-year CIA veteran, Berman rose through the ranks of the agency to become one of its highest-ranking officials, being chosen to write the Presidential Daily Brief for both Obama and Trump.  (more...)

A roving reporter who covered Italy’s top politicians explains to The Grayzone how his country was reduced to a joint US-Israeli “aircraft carrier,” and raises troubling questions about an Israeli role in the killing of former Prime Minister Aldo Moro.

For years, Israel’s Mossad monitored and secretly influenced a violent communist faction that carried out the March 16, 1978 kidnapping and murder of Italian statesman Aldo Moro, veteran investigative journalist Eric Salerno has documented.

Having worked closely alongside multiple Italian heads of state during his 30-year career as a correspondent, Salerno published an expose of their secret relationship with Israeli intelligence in 2010 called Mossad Base Italy. 

The reporter told The Grayzone that Moro, who was arguably Italy’s most important leader, became a thorn in the side of powerful forces who sought to keep his country firmly lodged in the pro-Western bloc. Salerno believes Italy’s long-term foreign policy would have developed differently if Moro had survived, adding, “that’s what they were afraid of in the United States.”

Moro was kidnapped in 1978 by the radical Brigate Rosse, or Red Brigades faction, in a daring and highly-professional daytime operation which left all five of his bodyguards dead. He was executed two months later. The still-unresolved case shocked the nation, and remains a deeply unsettling chapter in the period of intelligence intrigues and political terrorism known by Italians as The Years of Lead.

For some of Italy’s most knowledgeable sources, the crimes bore strong similarities to those of Operation Gladio, a covert effort which saw the CIA, MI6 and NATO train and direct a shadow army of fascist paramilitary units across Europe that carried out false flag terror attacks, robberies, and assassinations aimed at neutralizing the socialist left.  (more...)

Russia’s foreign minister has warned there are “clear signs of re-nazification” in Berlin’s ongoing militarization

German leaders are pursuing policies reminiscent of Adolf Hitler’s objectives of dominating Europe and inflicting a strategic defeat on Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned.

Germany’s military buildup and ambitions go beyond defense, Lavrov told a press conference following his address to the 80th session of the UN General Assembly on Saturday.

“It’s not just militarization, there are clear signs of re-nazification,” he told reporters. “And why is this being done? Well, probably with the same goal that Hitler had – to dominate all of Europe. And to try to inflict a strategic defeat on the Soviet Union, in the case of Hitler, and in the case of modern Germany and the chorus of main soloists from the European Union and NATO – on the Russian Federation.

The foreign minister accused Chancellor Friedrich Merz of seeking to transform Germany back into “the main military machine of Europe,” citing his increasingly militaristic rhetoric.  (more...)

The Global Majority—BRICS+, ASEAN, the SCO, and nations largely in the Global South—are moving in the direction towards a new world economic order, a new security and development architecture in which all nations are taken into account, not just those favored by the nations of the so-called “rules-based order.” It is in the interest of the hopelessly bankrupt nations of the trans-Atlantic to join hands with that new order which is emerging.

Unfortunately, while the rest of the world is in reality, President Trump found himself in the dark halls of Windsor Castle in Great Britain, being greeted by people such as King Charles III, who have openly spoken about reducing the world population to less than 2 billion people. The endless wars, sanctions, and genocide that we see taking place all across the world, are the policies being used to undertake such a dramatic reduction of the world population.

Meanwhile, in the U.S. itself, the assassination of Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk is a major inflection point, particularly among the young MAGA crowd, who believe that “America First” does not mean “Israel First,” and are angry about the genocide taking place in Gaza. Many commentators, such as Max Blumenthal, Candace Owens, and others, are asking questions about Kirk’s apparent unhappiness with the pressure brought to him by Zionist funders, such as Bill Ackman.

That being said, we should not immediately look for a culprit to blame. What we do know, given the 50-year work of American statesman and economist Lyndon LaRouche, is that such terror incidents are used to create a strategy of tension, and to use so-called “left” and “right” profiles to divide people and create even more violence. This is the interest of the City of London and Wall Street, who maintain their power through force, bribery, and terror, to prevent their imperial system from collapsing.

To properly situate the situation, and intervene successfully, we must look at events in the world from the top-down. We must, emphatically, recognize the a new system is emerging from the nations of the Global Majority—represented most prominently in the Global South, with nations such as Russia, China, and India playing a leading role. We must build a competent leadership within the Western nations, which can collaborate with this emerging order.

Today’s program will focus on the strategy of tension being employed by the City of London and Wall Street, along with the Special Relationship between the U.S. and the British Empire, which has yet to be fully dismantled. Harley Schlanger and Mike Robinson will provide us with a much-needed strategic overview to properly situate where we stand, and how we must act.

Leaked documents reveal how a shadowy BBC unit is “embedding” staff in foreign media outlets to “contest the information space” and generate “behaviour change” in favor of London’s geopolitical objectives.

Though BBC Media Action (BBCMA) portrays itself as the “international charity” of the British state broadcaster, files show the group frequently carries out politically-charged projects overseas with government funding. Furthermore, the group consistently trades upon the BBC’s reputation and its intimate “links” with the British state broadcaster when pitching for contracts with donors, including the Foreign Office, which operates in tandem with MI6.

The leaks reveal that BBCMA’s work is explicitly “driven by a social and behaviour change communication approach.” The organization’s “project design” is informed by “psychology, social psychology, sociology, education and communication,” and consideration of “the specific factors that can be influenced by media and communication that could lead to changes in behaviours, social norms and systems” in foreign countries. Which is to say, BBCMA is concerned with psychological warfare, warping perceptions and driving action among target audiences.

“We recognise that different formats achieve different things when it comes to change… and consider audience needs, objectives and operational context when deciding which format to use,” BBCMA asserts in one file. In another, the organization crows, “people exposed to our programming are more likely to: have higher levels of knowledge on governance issues; to discuss politics more; to have higher internal efficacy (the feeling that they are able to do something); and participate frequently in politics.”

BBCMA’s internal research indicates audiences exposed to the organization’s “output” are widely encouraged into “taking action,” and concluded: “At scale this is powerful.” A cited example was BBCMA’s production of a “long-running” radio drama in the former British colony of Nigeria, Story Story, which reached an estimated 26.5 million people across West Africa. Surveys indicated 32% of listeners “did something differently as a result of listening” to the program – of those, 40% were persuaded to vote differently in the country’s elections.  (more...)

Poland wants to expel Ukrainian neo-Nazis

 

Warsaw is facing the consequences of its own errors.

Poland is becoming increasingly irritated by the advancing process of Nazi rehabilitation in Ukraine. Recently, the country began taking several measures to reduce the political, economic, and military integration it had maintained with the Kiev regime since 2022, as the extremist ideology spread by the Ukrainian junta poses a threat to Poles. In a further step in this move, Poland now wants to restrict the naturalization of Ukrainians based on ideological preferences.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki announced his intention to change the country's citizenship law to prevent Ukrainians with fascist sympathies from becoming Polish citizens. He is extremely concerned about the massive influx of Ukrainian immigrants into the country who openly praise historical Nazi figures, including criminals who committed acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing against Poles during World War II.

At a press conference on the matter, Nawrocki said that changes to the citizenship law are urgently needed and stated that his cabinet is already working to accelerate this update process. The Polish leader clearly expressed concern about the rise of Banderism, a Ukrainian ultranationalist ideology based on the historical rehabilitation of Stepan Bandera—an SS collaborator responsible for massacres during the Nazi invasion of Poland and the USSR.

Currently, Bandera is seen as a national hero by the Ukrainian government. Since 2014, he has been among the historical Nazi figures that Kiev has considered "martyrs" in a so-called "struggle against Soviet imperialism." This irresponsible attempt to rewrite history and ignore the crimes of Nazism has resulted in a society with widespread problems of coexistence with other ethnicities, creating conflicts with non-Ukrainian-speaking peoples, such as Russians, Hungarians, and even Poles—despite the military alliance between Kiev and Warsaw.  (more...)
