Tehran warns EU against ‘Nazi mindsets,’ slams German backing of Israeli-US aggression

Iran Germany EU Nazi regression aggression imperialism colonialism

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has warned European countries against sliding toward “historical #NAZI mindsets” by supporting the Israeli-US aggression against Iran.

In a post published Wednesday on X, Baghaei denounced Germany’s stance and warned European states against complicity in war crimes.

“The EU/E3 once played a pivotal role in int'l diplomacy, helping to forge the 2015 JCPOA—a landmark achievement of European foreign policy that was torpedoed by this U.S. administration,” Baghaei wrote, referring to the 2015 nuclear deal formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

The agreement, reached between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, aimed to limit Tehran’s nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief. The US unilaterally pulled out of the deal in 2018.

Turning to current developments, Baghaei said: “Today, under pressure from the #German Chancellor, some EU members risk being placed on the wrong side of history by appearing complicit in U.S./Israel acts of aggression & war crimes against the Iranian nation, one of the world’s oldest and the most enduring civilizational Nation-States.”  (more...)

How Germany became Israel’s enabler-in-chief

Friedrich Merz Germany Israel Iran collusion complicity war Gaza genocide lawlessness depravity

Friedrich Merz says Iran deserves being the target of war because it hasn’t bent the knee to sanctions

Say what you will about Germany’s current ‘elites’, but they are consistent: Once they don’t give a damn about international law, elementary fairness, rudimentary human decency, and, last but not least, basic logic, they really won’t quit before their country’s reputation is ruined as it has not been since 1945. Hyperbole, you think? Can it really be that bad, you wonder?

Leave it to Chancellor Friedrich Merz and company to achieve what seems almost impossible. For almost two-and-a-half years, not one but two German governments have been, in effect, complicit in Israel’s continuing Gaza genocide. Under former Chancellor Olaf Scholz from the centrist Social-Democrats – otherwise remembered for gutless evasion when US ex-president Joe Biden announced, in essence, that he was going to blow up Nord Stream – as well as under the unusually dishonest Merz from the centrist Christian-Democrats, Berlin has supplied Israel with arms (and probably misled the International Court of Justice about it), diplomatic cover, legal support, media propaganda, and the often brutal suppression of protests against Israel’s crimes.

Indeed, recently a UN special rapporteur has identified the “use of anti-terrorism laws to restrict advocacy for Palestinian rights” as “a primary concern” in a report warning that the “space for freedom of expression is shrinking” in Germany.

Against this awful and shameful background, the fresh war of aggression launched by Israel and its American auxiliaries – that’s the technically correct term for troops serving a foreign nation – could, conceivably, have been a very late wake-up call. Perhaps, an eternal optimist may have thought, the sheer brazenness of the attack will make even Berlin hesitate. Nope. Instead, Friedrich Merz and official Germany in general have radicalized their virtually nihilistic denial of law, ordinary ethics, and common sense.  (more...)

Liberals supply Iran reasons to target Canadians

Canada politics military Iran complicity collaboration aggression imperialism deception

Canada has defended every country harmed by the conflict except the victim of aggression. It’s part of Ottawa’s longstanding support for war on Iran.

After the prime minister released a written statement and made a public declaration expressing “support” for US/Israeli aggression, foreign affairs minister Anita Anand released two more statements criticizing Iran on Saturday. Late in the evening she posted, “Canada stands with the United Arab Emirates as it defends itself against Iran’s attempts to escalate the conflict.” After it was confirmed Iran’s leader and multiple family members were killed, as well as a 165 at a girls’ school, Anand posted “Canada strongly condemns the targeting of the State of Qatar by Iran. Canada stands with Qatar and all partners in the region in efforts to safeguard security and prevent further escalation.”

On Sunday Anand followed those statements up with a broader condemnation of Iran’s strategy of targeting countries housing US bases used to launch the aggression. She stated, “We condemn the Iranian Regime’s indiscriminate attacks against civilian infrastructure across the region, including in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Jordan. These attacks are a dangerous threat to regional stability and civilian safety.”

According to Anand, Iran is responsible for the US/Israeli aggression that has already hit more than 1,000 targets in the country. Ottawa’s support for the war is stronger than many other members of the US-led NATO alliance. Spain and Norway criticized the US/Israeli aggression while UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for an “immediate cessation of hostilities and de-escalation.”  (more...)

An enormous crime against Iran

Iran assassination aggression atrocity war crimes Israel terrorism impunity indifference complicity

Hours before Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s death was confirmed, I told the Drop Site News livestream that the assassination of Iran’s leader would be an enormous crime.

By early Sunday, Iran announced that the United States and Israel had killed Khamenei as well as several members of his family.

They join hundreds of Iranians already slain in the American-Israeli war, including scores of schoolgirls massacred in an unspeakable atrocity at an elementary school in Minab, southern Iran.

Killing Khamenei, the leader of a sovereign state, in an unprovoked war of aggression is a flagrant act of international terrorism.

Right away, President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the perpetrators of this crime, got what they asked for: Iranians poured into the streets.

They were not there to protest their government and overthrow it – as the warmongers had demanded – but to mourn their martyred leader and demand revenge.  (more...)

"Israel is getting rid of the Palestinians in the most sadistic way this century could afford. And, it's shocking that no one stops it."

In this Zeteo town hall, Mehdi Hasan sits down with UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese who’s had a disinformation campaign waged against her by pro-Israel groups. The smear campaign against Albanese came in the form of a doctored video spread by pro-Israel groups trying to paint her antisemitic.

They also discuss Donald Trump’s ‘Board of Peace,’ her life as a sanctioned official and the link between Jeffrey Epstein and the collapse of multilateralism.

Carney says yes to US, Israel breaking international law

Canada Iran war crimes Israel complicity imperialism aggression lawlessness impunity

Mark Carney has fully endorsed Donald Trump’s bid to balkanize Iran on behalf of the genocidal Jewish supremacist state and a US empire that insists on ruling the world. Tens of thousands will likely be killed unless Iran can deliver a decisive blow to US and Israeli interests in the region.

In a statement posted to X Saturday morning, Carney and foreign minister Anita Anand said “Canada supports” the US/Israeli violation of the UN Charter. The statement endorsing the unprovoked attack was just the latest example of the Carney government’s subservience to the US empire’s ‘might makes right’ policy around the world.

The written statement was odious but the prime minister’s declaration at an event in India was even worse. Carney declared, “Canada reaffirms Israel’s right to defend itself and to ensure the security of its people.” In an initial Israeli attack upwards of 100 were killed in a strike on an elementary school in Minab, southern Iran. Information on the horrific crime was already circulating widely when Carney made his declaration.  (more...)

Is BRICS Dead?

India America Israel Narendra Modi BRICS Iran subservience

This week, as Israel and the United States prepared to launch another war on BRICS-member Iran, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled to Israel.

During his visit, Modi gave a speech in Israel's Knesset in which he effectively declared his undying love for the genocidal entity.

Meanwhile, India appears to have slashed its purchases of Russian oil and has seized oil tankers suspected of carrying Iranian petroleum products. India's BRICS partner China is the largest buyer of Iranian oil.

What does all of this mean for the future of BRICS?

Dimitri Lascaris speaks with John Helmer about whether BRICS retains any hope of becoming an effective alliance against Western imperialism.

In today’s show, we’ll be considering the implications of the High Court judgment against the previous Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, for acting unlawfully when she proscribed Palestine Action as a terrorist organization last year.

But the three High Court judges who found against the govt. paused the enforcement of their judgment while an appeal is being decided. So, in our first report, Latifa Abouchakra summarizes the case that the High Court threw out, and which the new Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, is appealing.

Our next report looks at the legal arguments that followed the High Court judgment, and highlights the ongoing direct action against the UK’s complicity in Zionist genocide.

The global elite in the shadow of Jeffrey Epstein

global elite journalism repression Israel Jeffrey Epstein intelligence deflection misdirection distortion

The mainstream media is largely ignoring the real scandal in this story.

For years, I mostly ignored the Jeffrey Epstein story. Not because it wasn’t interesting and relevant but there was a distinct lack of hard evidence backing the (often) wild conspiracy theories connecting Epstein to the global political and financial elites, and Israel.

That has changed.

It’s now undeniable that Epstein was incredibly close to Israeli intelligence, a fact that remains largely ignored in the Western media. What this says about the nature of Epstein’s vast criminality, against children and women, speaks volumes about the wilful blindness expressed by legacy media outlets.

The US outlet, Drop Site News, have produced many stunning stories on how Epstein became a key power broker connecting Israel and its defence/surveillance sectors to innumerable nations from Mongolia to the Ivory Coast.

One of the writers of these investigations, Murtaza Hussain, explains both the significance of the revelations and the reticence of corporate media to explore it:

Because of elite capture of many institutions, the coverage of Epstein’s activities by establishment news outlets feels a lot more like damage control than accountability. Despite his extensively documented political influence and even his role in shaping frontier research in AI and biotechnology, Epstein himself has attempted to be quarantined as merely a “con-man” and “dead pervert.” What is being covered up here are not his sexual abuses, but what his role and activities reveal about how power actually operates today.  (more...)

Norway’s role in the Oslo Accords questioned after key figures appear in Epstein files

Norway Oslo Accords corruption complicity conflict of interest Jeffrey Epstein

Trove of documents reveal Norwegian top-diplomats Mona Juul and her husband Terje Rod-Larsen had strong connections to the late sex offender

Norway has always lauded itself for its role in international diplomacy, most notably for its facilitating of the Oslo Accords signed by Israel and the Palestinians in 1993.

That image was based on its self-created reputation for diplomatic neutrality and impartiality, but recent revelations in the trove of files released related to the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein cast serious doubts on that narrative.

Mona Juul and her husband Terje Rod-Larsen, two significant Norwegian figures involved in the accords, appeared as close contacts of the late billionaire and sexual offender.

The latest disclosures have also drawn renewed attention on documents related to the agreement that have been missing for over 33 years.

The Red Party, a socialist political party in Norway, is now demanding that Rod-Larsen and Juul, who served as ambassador to Israel in 2001, hand over the private archives.

Juul most recently was the Norwegian ambassador to Jordan and Iraq until the Epstein scandal forced her suspension and later resignation.

Norwegian police are currently investigating the extent of ties between Juul and Rod-Larsen and Epstein. The pair are facing charges of corruption and complicity.

Epstein is widely understood to have worked as an agent of Israel and was a close confidante of its former prime minister, Ehud Barak.

Bjornar Moxnes, member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence in the Norwegian parliament, and former leader of the Red party, says that Norway’s role in the creation of the Oslo Accords must be investigated given the scandal.

“The roles that the peace brokers were playing needs to be investigated because they have created a romanticised image of the whole process,” Moxnes told Middle East Eye

“Norway was not a neutral player as they [Juul and Rod-Larsen] have tried to make it look like.”  (more...)

Over 2,000 British nationals fought for Israel during Gaza genocide: Report

More than 2,000 British nationals have served in the Israeli military during the regime's genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.

A report published by Declassified UK on Wednesday revealed that more than 2,000 British nationals fought alongside the Israeli regime forces during the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

The report is based on data obtained for the first time through a Freedom of Information request submitted to Israeli regime authorities.

The numbers stated in the latest report included Israeli forces with dual or multiple nationalities as opposed to earlier data that counted only 54 Britons serving as "lone soldiers" fighting for the Tel Aviv regime.

Consultants on legal matters told Declassified that the new figures raised serious concerns.

The data revealed that 1,686 dual British-Israeli nationals were enlisted, along with 383 individuals who held British, Israeli, and at least one additional nationality, placing them within a broader group of more than 50,000 Israeli military personnel with multiple citizenship.  (more...)

How can tech help Palestine? | Panel discussion with Paul Biggar

technology Palestine ethics human rights Big Tech incubator advocacy boycott divestment infrastructure

At Web Summit Qatar in Doha, Middle East Eye’s Mohamed Hashem sits down with Paul Biggar, founder of Tech for Palestine, to examine the big tech industry’s role in the genocide in Gaza. Biggar asserts that major corporations, including Google, Microsoft, and Palantir, are directly complicit by providing the technical infrastructure used by Israel to carry out crimes against humanity.

The discussion explores the systemic shift of tech power over the last two decades, detailing howcoll the sector has moved from an alternative ecosystem to one that aligns with billionaire interests and government oppression. Biggar outlines the necessity of "ethical tech" that prioritises human rights over profit and explains how Tech for Palestine operates as an incubator for advocacy projects, including widespread boycott and divestment tools.

Tracing 'spy' Epstein financial links to Israeli military, settlements

Jeffrey Epstein finance Israel Mossad Alan Dershowitz FBI

An FBI report in the Epstein files cites claims that Jeffrey Epstein was trained as a spy and had ties to "Israel's" Mossad.

An undercover FBI informant "became convinced" that disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein was an Israeli spy, a document that is among millions of pages released last week by the Justice Department revealed.

The government record cites the informant, known as a confidential human source (CHS), as saying that Epstein's attorney, Alan Dershowitz, told then-US Attorney of the Southern District of Florida Alex Ocasta "that Epstein belonged to both US and allied intelligence services."

"CHS shared phone calls between Dershowitz and Epstein during which he/she took notes. After these calls, Mossad would then call Dershowitz to debrief. Epstein was close to the former Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Barak (Barak) and trained as a spy under him," the document says.

Noting that Barak “believed Netanyahu was a criminal,” it said the informant “became convinced that Epstein was a co-opted Mossad Agent” amid regional rivalries involving "Israel".

The document has an annotation to "see previous reporting," but what that refers to is unclear.  (more...)

Irish politicians slam US deportation flights to 'Israel' via Shannon

Ireland Shannon Airport ICE deportations Palestine immigration

Irish lawmakers condemn the use of Shannon Airport by ICE for deportation flights sending Palestinians from the US to "Israel" aboard a Trump donor’s private jet.

Several Irish politicians have condemned the use of Shannon Airport by private jets chartered for US deportation flights to "Israel", calling the practice “reprehensible” and demanding government intervention.

Two separate deportation flights organized by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made fuel stops at the Irish airport on January 21 and February 1, according to a Guardian investigation. Both flights carried Palestinians who were reportedly deported from the US to "Israel".

The aircraft used was a private jet owned by Gil Dezer, a real estate developer and known donor to US President Donald Trump. Dezer's company has built several Trump-branded properties in Miami.

Some deportees said they were shackled by the wrists and ankles throughout the flight. Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, they were reportedly taken to the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Dezer claimed he was unaware of the passengers’ identities or the purpose of the flights, stating that he is only notified of dates when his aircraft is in use. The jet was chartered by Journey Aviation, a Florida-based company frequently contracted by US authorities.  (more...)

Nearly 50 people protested in Montreal on January 30, at complexe Desjardins. The demonstration happened during Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand's visit to the city, which organizers and protesters said highlighted trade and economic partnerships, while Canadian weapons components continue reaching Israel. Protesters denounced her complicity and shared concerns about the lack of compliance with international law amid ongoing violence in Palestine. The event, which was organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement Montreal chapter, called for an arms embargo and the passage of Bill C-233, which would close U.S. loopholes used for arms and weapons exports. Protesters are also planning a nationwide actions on February 17 to pressure members of parliament ahead of the parliamentary vote on February 25.

Former engineering professor went on leave to serve in IDF after October 7, 2023

Canada University of Toronto Engineering Technion IDF genocide complicity

Visiting professor Shahar Kvatinsky continued teaching until July 2025

In 2023, Shahar Kvatinsky, a former visiting professor in the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, left the University of Toronto to serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Kvatinsky, the Dean of the Viterbi Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, continued teaching at U of T until August 2025.

Kvatinsky began his appointment as visiting professor in July 2023, but appears to have left the university to serve in the IDF sometime after October 7, 2023.

In a Facebook post from November 2023, Kvatinsky is seen wearing military gear in front of building ruins. The post’s caption reads, “We have been fighting for six weeks. […] Six weeks away from family, with my new-old family in Golani.”

The Golani Brigade is one of the IDF’s five infantry brigades.

According to his CV, Kvatsinky served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the IDF from 1999–2004. However, the CV, which was updated in July 2025 — the same month Kvatinsky left U of T — says that he “is currently in the reserve forces.” The caption of the Facebook post continues, “I’ve been traveling around the world for exactly 43 years, almost 25 years as a soldier, both regular and reserve.”

In November 2024, Kvatinsky shared a photo of himself and other military personnel meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The caption indicated that he’d met with Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant two months prior.

After serving in the IDF, Kvatinsky returned to the university in fall 2024 to teach ECE552: Computer Architecture. He shared a photo of himself outside the People’s Circle for Palestine in May 2024, wearing a t-shirt embossed with the symbol of the Golani Brigade.

It is unclear whether U of T formally allowed Kvatinsky to take a leave of absence to go to Israel. A spokesperson for the university wrote to The Varsity that they were unable to disclose this information “due to privacy constraints imposed by law.”  (more...)

Israel's role against Venezuela

Israel Venezuela imperialism colonialism resistance Palestine hegemony solidarity

In today’s show, we’ll be revealing the Zionist links to the opposition in Venezuela, where successive governments, after Hugo Chavez came to power in 1998, have lent their support to Palestine and the Axis of Resistance.

In 2009 Venezuela expelled Israel’s ambassador and broke off all diplomatic ties with the Zionist colony.

The current Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, says the Palestinian resistance is engaged in what he describes as a “critical battle against fascism and colonialism.”

That’s why the revolutionary Venezuelan government is a beacon of anti-imperialism, and a symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian people, as Latifa Abouchakra will explain in our first report.

Our next report uncovers the material ways in which the Zionist entity stands to gain from regime change in Venezuela.
