Letter: Sex ed issue won’t fade anytime soon


Re: Sex education offers protection not perversion, guest column by Lloyd Brown-John, May 25.

This column is one of many which has appeared recently in The Windsor Star on this issue, most of which have taken a position in support of the province of Ontario’s decision to revamp the current sex ed curriculum in the Ontario school system.

The implementation of the update has thus far proven to be contentious, for a variety of reasons. The core issue underlying most of the disagreement, however, lies in how the two sides approach their understanding of human sexuality.

In the view of many, if not most of those opposed to the sex ed curriculum, human sexuality is sacred. It is not something to be treated lightly.  (more...)
