Toronto parent upset over disturbing pamphlet teen allegedly got at event at school

A Toronto parent is upset after she claims that her teen picked up some disturbing literature at an event at school.

The parent, who has asked not to be named, says her 16-year-old teen went to a mental health fair at the West End Alternative School where several tables were set up with various literature.

One of the pamphlets the teen picked up, according to the parent, explained how to safely perform kinky sex. The parent says there were also pamphlets on how to properly do drugs.

"If, as they say, it takes a community to raise a child, isn't it at least worth informing the parents that this type of education is going to be taught?" the parent says. "I certainly would not have allowed my child to attend had I known."  (more...)
