One of the fundamental axioms of Thomistic philosophy is “agere sequitur esse,” which means that action follows being. This means that “what a thing does must necessarily reflect what it is in some way.” My corollary to this axiom is that there can be no action without consciousness. This is true of all human action, but it has special relevance to political action.

In the months following the Hamas uprising in Gaza, the world has experienced a massive change in consciousness. The Israeli genocide in reaction to that uprising has brought about a global consensus that Jews, as St. Paul said in I Thess 2, are “enemies of the entire human race.”
