Indoctrinating the Innocent: YWAM, Spiritual Warfare, & Psychology of Control

youth cults YWAM Pentecostalism anxiety dissociation trauma fear hypnosis Benny Hinn

John and Jenny dive into the disturbing intersections between militarism, psychology, and religion within Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Drawing parallels to early Pentecostal cults and authoritarian movements, they examine how “spiritual warfare” language and practices condition young minds for obedience and control. Jenny shares her firsthand experience of life inside YWAM—where teenagers are sent on “target missions,” sleep-deprived prayer watches, and told demons lurk in everyday objects—while John connects these patterns to the mind control methods of Branhamism and early revival cults like those of Frank Sanford and John Alexander Dowie. Together they expose how hyper-spiritualized fear, trauma bonding, and dissociation produce lifelong anxiety and religious PTSD, even as participants believe they are serving God.

Ben Shapiro is done. Ben Shapiro, in my opinion, is officially done. Um, he had his ass handed to him uh over the weekend, starting off with America Fest. I covered the story about him and Tucker kind of going back and forth at America Fest. Ben Shapiro started the drama. He had to take it there by coming onto the stage and calling people out for not going along with his pro- genocide agenda, his Israel agenda.

There is a List: The Anti-List

Canada Palestine solidarity targeting lists Honest Reporting Canary Mission repression surveillance silencing censorship harassment Zionists

In the finale of There Is a List, we explore what it means to flip the lens on surveillance. After months of investigating blacklists that target pro-Palestine voices, Zahra meets the activists behind Reverse Canary Mission, a grassroots initiative documenting Zionist supporters, and examines the ethics of “the anti-list.”

She also speaks with Dr. Yipeng Ge, a public health physician whose talk on Gaza was cancelled by Canada’s federal health agency. He shares the slides that were deemed “too controversial” and the concrete steps he believes Canadians can take to end their country’s complicity in war.

Ricochet Media’s newest podcast investigates how pro-Israel websites and Canadian charities target, surveil and silence pro-Palestine students, professors, and journalists – often women and people of colour – by documenting their names and actions in online dossiers.

Through personal stories, data analysis, and deep reporting, There is a List asks who’s behind these lists and why they exist.

From Darby to the NAR: Rapture Theology’s Viral Spread Through Prophets & Pulpits

Rapture John Nelson Darby Civil War tribulation Scofield con artists pyramid schemes prophets dispensationalism fear fortune telling

John and Bob trace the surprising modern origins of rapture theology, showing that it was unknown to the early church and only popularized in the 19th century through John Nelson Darby, the Scofield Bible, and the cultural upheaval of the U.S. Civil War. They explore how dispensationalism provided a foundation for this teaching and how political events and convenient theology kept reshaping it.

The conversation highlights the role of fortune-telling impulses, the Second Great Awakening, the camp-meeting movement, and even the influence of spiritualism on revival culture. John and Bob warn that rapture predictions often prey on fear and the human desire for secret knowledge, diverting believers from the simple call of Jesus to love God and neighbor.

Zionist lawfare operation facing collapse?

Zionists Israel lobby UK lawfare Lawyers for Israel fraud Gaza genocide crybullies

Kit Klarenberg exposes how UK Lawyers For Israel’s fraudulent lawfare campaign is unraveling, with fabricated signatures, legal complaints, and mounting investigations threatening the "Israel"-linked group’s survival.

On September 7th, notorious Zionist lobby group UK Lawyers For Israel published a joint letter, triggered by 86% of International Association of Genocide Scholars members backing a resolution declaring "Israel" is committing genocide in Gaza days earlier. The lengthy screed blamed Hamas for Tel Aviv’s mass slaughter of Palestinians since October 7th, and charged the Resistance group itself was in fact guilty of genocide, on the risible, purported basis that Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was intended “to destroy, in whole or in part, Jews and Israelis.”

UKLFI’s repulsive, inverted narrative of Tel Aviv’s 21st century Holocaust in Gaza was reportedly endorsed by close to 500 “legal, antisemitism, history, holocaust, and genocide scholars.” Yet, upon publication, multiple listed signatories angrily announced their names were included without consent, while denouncing the letter’s content in the strongest possible terms. Close inspection indicates several signatories are listed repeatedly, many are tied to Zionist lobby groups, and others - such as a professor of electrical engineering - are self-evidently not qualified to make any judgement on genocide whatsoever.

Such brazen fraud is par for the course for UKLFI. The group has a lengthy, deplorable history of targeting individuals and organisations via frivolous if not outright vexatious lawfare, falsely conflating criticism of the Zionist entity with antisemitism in order to neutralise Palestine solidarity in schools, universities, workplaces, hospitals, and elsewhere. UKLFI’s embarrassingly botched stunt is especially shameful this time round though, as the operation is presently embroiled in significant legal quandaries of its own. The situation is so dire that UKLFI could collapse.

As Al Mayadeen reported in August, a detailed complaint was filed against UKLFI by the Public Interest Law Centre and European Legal Support Center with Britain’s Solicitors Regulation Authority. The 114-page document accused the group of using the law for nakedly politicised intimidation purposes, and ostensibly operating as a legal body despite being unregulated and unaccountable. Adding to UKLFI’s woes, its charitable wing is concurrently under formal investigation by the Charity Commission For England and Wales, due to the pioneering research of advocacy group CAGE.  (more...)

Tucker Carlson garners widespread praise for highlighting plight of Palestinian Christians

Tucker Carlson Christian Zionism Orthodox Church Mother Agapia Palestine Bethany occupation exposure journalism religion

An interview with Mother Agapia earned praise on social media, specifically by Christians, for sharing rarely heard stories

Russian Orthodox nun Mother Agapia Stephanopoulos' appearance on the conservative Tucker Carlson Show has received widespread praise for exposing the experience of Palestinian Christians living under Israeli occupation and the war on Gaza.

The Monday episode, titled “Here's What It's Really Like to Live as a Christian in the Holy Land”, had around 12 million views by the time of writing.

Mother Stephanopoulos, who has lived in the Palestinian town of Bethany in the occupied West Bank since 1996, was among several pro-Palestinian guests featured on the former Fox News host’s programme.

Alongside her accounts of discrimination faced by Palestinians, Carlson devoted much of the interview to exploring Christian Zionism - a belief by some that Jews must return to the Holy Land to trigger the "second coming" of Christ.

In the interview, Mother Stephanopoulos detailed Israel’s stealing of Christian land, the mission of “Greater Israel”, and the persecution of Christians at the hands of Israel, among many other topics.

On social media, many expressed their near disbelief that a major American media outlet gave a platform to a Christian Palestinian point of view, and that the person promoting this topic was Carlson.  (more...)

Tucker Carlson gives US conservatives rare window into plight of Palestinian Christians

Orthodox nun Mother Agapia Stephanopoulos discussed land dispossession and armed resistance in the Holy Land on Carlson’s show

During conservative media personality Tucker Carlson’s podcast on Monday, Mother Agapia Stephanopoulos of the Russian Orthodox church gave his followers rare insight into the lives of Palestinian Christians under Israeli occupation.

The show was titled, "Here's What It's Really Like to Live as a Christian in the Holy Land", with the YouTube thumbnail image reading "SEGREGATION".

Mother Stephanopoulos has lived in Palestine since 1996 in the Palestinian town of Bethany, in the occupied West Bank, and was one of a string of pro-Palestine guests on the former Fox News host’s show.

In addition to discussing discrimination against Palestinians, Carlson focused much of the interview on Christian Zionism, a right-wing ideology that believes Jews must return to the Holy Land to bring about the second coming of Christ.

“The problem you have is one with the Christian Zionists, the ones who don’t recognise the Christians in the Holy Land as being fully Christian,” Stephanopoulos said.

“We are closed off in Bethany from going to our convent in Jerusalem because of the wall that was built on Palestinian land, on Christian land, there’s a Christian home for boys that the Israelis just took over and cut up to make part of the wall,” she continued.  (more...)

Zionism has led to racist fascism as left predicted long ago

Zionism Canada social media fascism repression silencing smears censorship criminalization genocide racism white supremacy

Israel supporters have shown time and again their willingness to abrogate Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms to serve their favoured supremacist state. If you support Israel killing hundreds of caged starving people seeking food then it’s easy to push firing or jailing a Canadian critic.

Wednesday The J.ca published “Montreal Author Under Police Review After Anti-IDF Posts Raise Hate Speech Concerns. Yves Engler’s ‘Death to IDF’ remarks prompt law enforcement scrutiny and public criticism amid rising tensions.”

The article cites far right Jewish supremacist X account Leviathan seeking to have me arrested and suggests a journalist contacted the Montreal police to enquire about my posts. Two days ago Leviathan tagged multiple police accounts with photos of my statements supporting Find My IDF next to my response to those condemning British music duo Bob Vylan. Their bid to have me arrested noted, “We wonder what @EnglerYves is trying to tell us. Maybe @SPVM @rcmpgrcpolice can help us figure it out before someone does something stupid. @Nat_Div_RCMP @rcmpqc.”

After tagging four different police X accounts, Leviathan added a second post explaining their (impeccable) logic: “Let’s put it in a mathematic equation: ‘Here Is A Database to Find IDF Soldiers in Canada’ + ‘Death To The IDF’ = ?????” (When far more Twitter users liked and shared my “death death to the IDF” response to their post Leviathan grumbled, “your fraudulent engagement is so evidently clear as you post them to your groups to gain ratios & algorithm manipulation.”)  (more...)

UBC faculty members speak out in support of instructor who says he was let go for pro-Palestine activism

UBC faculty say the instructor's dismissal demonstrates an “alarming erosion of free expression at UBC.”

An instructor at the University of British Columbia who was recently let go by the School of Population and Public Health (SPPH) is receiving support from colleagues who say the school violated his “academic freedom,” demonstrating an “alarming erosion of free expression at UBC.”

Sean Tucker, a former sessional instructor at UBC’s SPPH was told in October that he would no longer be teaching at the school after months of advocacy around the genocide in Gaza.

In November, faculty members of UBC Faculty for Palestine penned a letter in support of Tucker, demanding that UBC reinstate him as an instructor.

“We demand that SPPH reverse this decision, immediately rehire Dr. Tucker, and reinstate SPPH 526 for SPPH’s OEH students,” the letter, which was obtained by PressProgress, reads.

“This course has been taught from his area of scholarly expertise for its entire two years of existence. It was summarily canceled without any due process in October 2024.”

The UBC Chapter of the Jewish Faculty Network also wrote to the SPPH director with a similar demand, highlighting that Tucker himself was invited to help redesign the course by the school in 2022.  (more...)

U of T faculty members called into Dean’s office for supporting Palestine on social media

Professors express concern over the admin’s actions, the “Palestine exception” on campus

Over 43,000 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli military since the start of Israel’s ongoing attacks in Gaza started on October 7, 2023, following Hamas’ attack on Israel.

Since then, some faculty members have been called into their respective deans’ offices for posts in support of Palestine. The Varsity spoke to three U of T professors to find out why some faculty are being called in.

A U of T professor — who requested to speak anonymously due to fear of retaliation — told The Varsity that they had been called in by a vice-dean, for retweeting an Instagram post by student coalition Tkarón:to Students in Solidarity with Palestine.

“Naturally, it was an Instagram post that I retweeted and I just added some words to that post to say that the cracks are starting to reveal themselves,” said the professor. “And by that, I meant that there were many connections that the institution at the University of Toronto has with Israeli institutions, and [there’s] also work that is conducted by U of T faculty and students on illegally occupied land.”

The retweeted post spotlighted U of T’s Archaeology Center’s projects in Israel. The center’s website used to have an “Archaeology of Israel” page that was later removed. The page talked about “[building] connections between archaeologists at the University of Toronto and those across Israel” and highlighted field schools and residence opportunities for students and faculty in Israel.   (more...)

Canadian tax subsidies to pro-Israel ‘charities’ violate international law

Magen Herut vigilantes Zionists Canada Toronto lawlessness nonprofits charitable status tax exemption crime CRA Nazi Likud

Canadians are subsidizing an ever more fascist movement promoting a holocaust in Gaza. In the latest outrage that’s come to light, a vigilante group intimidating students in Toronto has been allowed to register as a charity and therefore offer donors tax credits.

Recently, a complaint was delivered to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) asking it to audit Magen Herut Canada (MHC). Herut’s roots are with the pre-Israeli state Irgun terror group. In 1948, Albert Einstein and other prominent Jewish intellectuals labeled Herut “a political party closely akin in its organization, methods, political philosophy and social appeal to the Nazi and Fascist parties.” In the late 1980s Herut became the Likud party.

MHC operates as a vigilante force. Its members recently descended on the University of Toronto to intimidate students opposing the genocide. They’ve also provided “security” at pro-Israel events.

MHC members usually have experience in policing, security or the military and the group offers free workshops of Krav Maga, a training used by the Israeli military. They publicly fundraise for protective gear and to pay members’ security fees.

MHC states openly that it works closely with private security firm JFORCE, which protects Israel events, protests and dignitaries. It’s unusual for a registered charity to have close ties to a private corporation since taxpayer subsidized charities aren’t allowed to underwrite for-profit firms.

While an egregious example, MHC is only one of many publicly subsidized groups promoting Israeli violence.  (more...)
