Toronto trustee misbehaviour may go unpunished?

Several Toronto trustees say the board is ignoring complaints of bad behaviour by their colleagues and one has threatened to write to the Minister of Education “outlining the situation and compelling the board to take action.”

In an email obtained by the Star, Trustee Sheila Ward refers to accusations that Trustee Howard Goodman cornered Director Donna Quan in her office during a heated discussion earlier this year.

For his part, Goodman has previously told the Star that Quan was free to leave her office at any time, and that she twice indicated she wanted to continue their conversation.

A complaint was lodged in February with the board’s code of conduct committee, but nothing has happened since.  (more...)
