Allegedly abusive educator exposed in YouTube video is charged with 16 criminal counts

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – A former California teacher/school administrator has been charged with numerous felonies after allegations that she sexually abused students came to light more than 13 years after the fact.

Andrea Cardosa was charged Monday with five counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child and 11 other counts of abuse by the Riverside County District Attorney’s office, reports the New York Daily News.

The accusations first surfaced when Jamie Carrillo, now 28, recently recorded a phone conversation she had with Cardosa about the alleged abuse, which reportedly began when she was 12. The educator acknowledged the molestation during the phone conversation.

Carrillo posted the recording of the conversation on YouTube and the video quickly went viral.  (more...)
