Internet Communities Are Dying… And Nobody Noticed

What happened to online communities? Seriously?!

There was a time where the internet actually felt alive. You would find random forums about super niche topics. People knew each other.

You recognized usernames. There were inside jokes, real conversations, even drama sometimes. It felt like a real, welcoming place!

Now?

Most of us just rotate between the same few apps:

  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • YouTube
  • Reddit
  • X

And somehow… it feels more empty. There are less communities, but more content. Less conversation, and more engagement.

The internet used to feel like a city full of different neighborhoods, and now it feels like a shopping mall.

Everything is centralized, everything is algorithm-driven, and the communities we thought we were building… we never actually owned them.

In this video, I break down what changed and why it feels this way. And more importantly… what might come next!
