Riot at area Catholic high school: Parent assaulted

York Regional police and the York Catholic District School Board are investigating after disturbing videos were posted online that appear to show a parent in the midst of a bloody high school brawl.

One of the videos shows two teens exchanging furious punches while the parent and other youths surround them. When a student starts to taunt the parent, he winds up and appears to throw a punch at the teen, sparking a secondary scuffle.

A second video shows a group of youths surrounding the same parent, first in a wooded area, and then on a residential street where they swarm him with kicks and punches. By the time the attack is finished the man is bleeding profusely from the face and appears disoriented as he gets into a parked vehicle.

It’s not yet clear what sparked the melees on Friday at Briar Nine Park near Cardinal Carter Catholic High School, but police say they are aware of the videos and charges could be laid.  (more...)

We sold them "safe schools".
