Football coaches in 'paedophile ring' passed each other details of boys they abused says ex-Leeds star

Far left, alleged paedophile scout Frank Roper
Former Leeds star Jamie Forrester has claimed that a paedophile ring in football did exist as the game's sexual abuse scandal continues to grow.

Forrester, 42, once a promising England youth player, said he was groped by alleged paedophile scout Frank Roper.

He also said that Roper, who worked in the North of England in the 1970s and 80s and had ties to Blackpool FC, raped an 11-year-old Thai boy during a football tour in the Far East, reports the Sunday People.

Forrester, who enjoyed a long career with spells at Scunthorpe, Northampton and Lincoln City, has become the latest former professional to speak of abuse in the game.

His allegations are revealed as the number of players coming forward continues to rise.  (more...)
