UK: Incredible roll call of 51 teachers banned from the classroom for sexual misconduct

Chemistry teacher Hayley Dimmock, 28, was banned
indefinitely after she let a male pupil touch her thigh and
was seen having drunken sex with diving instructor
A shocking 51 teachers were banned from the classroom this year for sexual misconduct and other inappropriate behaviour including sending racy text messages and declarations of love to pupils.

Six women teachers are among the dozens struck off since January 2015, and the figure also includes headteachers and primary school staff, MailOnline can reveal.

There are also teachers who have embarked on sexual relationships with pupils - even resulting in pregnancy, those who have groped the youngsters in their care, and others who have sent streams of 'sexts' to teenage charges.

Of those banned, 17 were found to have engaged in inappropriate relationships with pupils, or former pupils - most of them sexual, or sexually motivated - and a further 14 were said to have touched pupils inappropriately.

And the true number could in fact be much higher, because these figures do not include teachers who are facing criminal charges but have not yet appeared in court.  (more...)
