Sex ed is coming — and we’re not ready for it


We aren't ready for the new school year.

New pencils may have been bought, appealing lunches may have been planned, earlier bedtimes may have been gradually imposed in preparation for the first day back to school next week — but that's not what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about the new and extremely controversial sex-education curriculum that will be rolled out this fall.

From what I understand, teachers aren't properly trained to teach it. Parents haven't been properly informed about it. School boards aren't ready to handle or supervise the children whose parents want them removed from class when topics like gender identity and masturbation are discussed.

The Ontario education ministry has been asked for help, but weeks later, no answers have been given.  (more...)
