The move follows monthly protests by Concerned Parents of Peterborough, held since May outside the office of MPP Jeff Leal.
Taking its lead from the Thorncliff student strike in Toronto, children of group members will not be at school Tuesday. Instead, students and parents will take part in protests outside Holy Cross school and the Peterborough Catholic School Board, located in connected buildings on Lansdowne St. W. The protest will run from 8 to 8 a.m.
"The sex curriculum is age-inappropriate, too explicit and nudges children toward premature sexual experimentation. We’re going to demand our school trustees work to scrap this irresponsible program," stated Laura Van Bakel, director of Concerned Parents of Peterborough, in a release issued to media Friday.
